  1. The day one patch hasn't rolled out yet, right? I hardly expect it to fix everything but people who play it after the official release may not have so many framerate drops compared to leaked copies.
  2. I saw this trailer in the theater earlier today. The movie itself will probably be nothing special at all, but I have to say that I really like the stylized look of the cats and dogs. I like it when animators take advantage of the medium to make animals into caricatures of themselves.
  3. The Peanuts Movie I will admit that I am biased due to having grown up reading Peanuts, but I think it was still a worthy adaptation. It is definitely made for people who hold affection for the characters, though, so if you don't already like Peanuts then you probably won't suddenly change your mind with this movie. Still, it's a nice film that ties up a lot of those loose ends that were left behind with Charles Schulz's passing. It definitely respects the source material, which makes sense because I heard his son was heavily involved in the movie's production.
  4. Which is, always was, and always will be fucking retarded for a game that's entirely multiplayer focused. I don't care what bullshit excuse Bungie uses. I never got to do Vault of Glass (and never will) because I never had the right combination of time and friends to make it happen. I don't have the time, patience, or interest to try to endear myself to a bunch of strangers. Fuck Bungie and their "just go make friends" shit. Yeah, I know I'm salty, but God forbid I buy I a multiplayer game and expect to be able to do all the multiplayer content. The game barely had any as it was.
  5. Good lord, weapons for multiplayer are microtransactions? How can anyone be okay with this?
  6. So this is some of the best DLC I've bought in years but GOOD GOD, Binding of Isaac was already a hard game and then they had to go and make it even harder! Have mercy, Edmund! I'm just a mortal man!
  7. What exactly is the enhanced edition of System Shock? I tried to play the original version once that I got when it, uh, fell off the back of a truck, but it was just TOO old school and cumbersome, even for me.
  8. When you put it like that it actually does sound kind of kickass.
  9. I hope Far Cry Primal doesn't have too many radio towers. "But it's a caveman game!" Oh, they'll find a way.
  10. The reason I'm cynical is because I only see these things getting worse. They may not bother you much now but are you so sure they won't become a major problem five or ten years down the line? Hell, it's even happening right now. The Phantom Pain microtransactions weren't such a big deal...until they patched the game so that anyone who ISN'T playing online loses a huge chunk of GMP each time they start the game. Oh, and they just so happened to start offering paid FOB insurance around the same time. You can't possibly tell me that these two things aren't connected. Cut content? Just compare EA's Battlefront to Battlefront II. The released game won't even have half as much content as the previous game, but they're trying to get you to pay up to 120 dollars for it. It's disgusting. Also, while I haven't played it myself, I'm hearing talk that Halo 5's multiplayer options have been completely neutered compared to Halo 2. I'm hearing that they took out the popular Infection mode. Hell, I hear you can't even create it with custom rules like how it originally started. I don't know for sure yet if that's true or not, but at this point I wouldn't be surprised. I probably have more to add on this but I'm about to leave for work. Basically, the point I'm making is that I am not as optimistic as you are about these things.
  11. I'm trying to beat Crypt of the Necrodancer to get it out of my backlog and holy crap, zone 3 is just kicking my ass. Has anyone here actually beat the whole game? Are there any tips to better prepare for zone 3 or get through it more easily? The difficulty spike is just so immense that I feel like I must be overlooking something.
  12. If anything, I'd say it's doomed to a future of microtransactions, cut content, half-assed ports, and season passes that fail to deliver, but that's an entirely different kind of doom we're talking about here. The industry is not about to go bankrupt. It is, however, getting progressively shittier the further we go into this generation.
  13. A friend of mine told me that Digital Foundry looked into it and found that Rocksteady has not changed anything about the game since the September patch other than adding all the new DLC. Fucking disgusting.
  14. There are some Killzone 2 level shenanigans going on in that launch trailer. Seriously, that slice is so vertical that it's going all the way into space.
  15. Holy shit it's even WORSE than we all feared.
  16. What was up with that Fighting Irish Vault Boy at the end? What could that mean?
  17. This week's chapter of My Hero Academia said that there's a "huge announcement" next week... And a production company called Toho (which animated the recent Umaru-chan series) registered a web domain for My Hero Academia just a few days ago... Hmmmmm.... This is looking pretty good!
  18. The original Hellsing series actually didn't have any nazis or nazi cats at all. It was one of those situations where they started the show too soon, caught up to the manga, and had to make up their own clunky ending because Hirano Kohta is a lazy sack of crap. The original series isn't nearly as good as the revival series, which is 100% faithful to the manga because it was actually being finished by that time. It did have some nice music, though.
  19. That's right, I forgot about that. God damn it.
  20. Why...why couldn't this be the one we got? The graphics aren't as pretty but I would have happily traded that for everything else. Just why?
  21. I wish these companies would learn that they are never going to get the CoD audience. It's never going to happen. If Battlefield can't do it, nothing will.
  22. So uh, MGO is neat and all but how do you exit back to the single player?
  23. Let's be honest with ourselves here. The AT-AT game mode fucking sucks. I played for hours and not once did I ever see the rebel team win, and I joined a lot of different games to compare teams. If I was on the empire side I always won and when I was on the rebel side I always lost. I'm sure it's POSSIBLE for the rebel team to win, but the odds are stacked so heavily against them that there's almost no point in even trying, especially when, as Mal pointed out, there are no squads or even a tagging system. There's really no way to coordinate a team attack, and this mode desperately requires exactly that. I know it's the Hoth battle and all but come on. I am also strongly against the way vehicles and especially heroes are now token pickups. I don't see why vehicles can't just be the way they always were, but never mind that for now. The real problem is that heroes are powerups now. The game used to assign hero spawns to teams at random (or possibly based on performance), and while it could be a little chaotic it also meant that everyone had a chance to play as the heroes and it was a pleasant surprise when one popped up for you. Now, though, once people learn the game they're probably just going to camp around the spawn points for hero tokens, depriving other people of the chance to play them. Why was this change necessary at all? It's frustrating because there is fun to be had in this game and it comes really close to being great sometimes, but there are just too many niggling little things that hold it back from its true potential. Some of these design decisions are, to be frank, downright boneheaded.
  24. Boy oh boy did I have myself a moment of weakness today.
