  1. Say what you will about the textures on the dog, but at least it gives me some confidence that we're not dealing with another Watch_Dogs trailer here.
  2. "A game I worked on that's on steam is 30 seconds long." And they charge MONEY for it?!
  3. I told you, man. Fucking Risette.
  4. Weapon unlocks are kind of weird. Unlike most shooters, you don't get to customize loadouts piece by piece. Instead, each primary weapon you buy has preassigned secondary and super weapons attached to it. While you do sometimes unlock weapons that are entirely new, more often you will unlock a primary that's mostly identical to one you already have (excluding the paint job) but with different secondary and super weapons attached to it. So I guess in that sense you can think of it as every level unlocking a new loadout.
  5. They can always raise the cap with future updates.
  6. OH THANK SWEET BABY JESUS CHRIST THE KIDNEY STONE IS GONE! Oh god...I'm so happy...

Eh. 4 or 5? Damn rocks. Which reminds me: Malicious, look for a package in the mail.

  7. Yeah, that's right. Finally I get to be one of the lucky ones. Amazon was selling these at a random, undisclosed time during a specific 30 minute window today, so I sat at my keyboard and hit F5 pretty much every 30 seconds until they popped up for sale at 9:05 EST.
  8. Man, what's the point of pre-ordering things for delivery if you won't even get them on the release day? Geez...

It was an amiibo, so preordering was pretty much the only option. I don't really need it right away or anything, but they still had more than enough time to see to it that it would arrive on the same day it arrived in stores.

      Nooooooope.

  9. I'm not so sure they're going to go the Brotherhood route. GRRM already told the show runners how the story ends in his head, so I imagine that the TV show will end up being at least similar to the future books unless GRRM decides to make major changes while he's writing them.
  10. It is. They definitely made Xrd more beginner-friendly, most notably by introducing a delay after performing a Roman Cancel.
  11. Let's get rid of game over screens. Practically no game out there in this day and age still utilizes the idea of limited lives, and unless you're playing a roguelike where dying truly does mean the game is over then all game over screens are good for is wasting time before you inevitably try again. Xenoblade Chronicles thankfully took this advice. When you die, it just sends you back to the last checkpoint you passed. No dumb game over screen with sad music, no going back to the title screen to reload. Man, this game just does so many little things right.
  12. So there's a rumor floating around right now that Jaden Smith will be playing Static Shock in the DCCU...It's not based on anything more right now than a slip of the tongue from another actor, so I reeeeally hope it isn't true, but it would perfectly explain why Will Smith is playing Deadshot.
  13. Question: has the game become any better for people without the season pass? I, like an idiot, bought Destiny digitally so I'm stuck with it forever no matter what, so I might as well try to make the best of it. But I'm not going back to that skinner box unless they have given me a damn good reason to.
  14. I recently stumbled across a /co/ thread that was heaping a lot of praise onto, of all things, a comic based on a Disney property. To be more specific, it was Don Rosa's "The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck." Considering that /co/ is pretty hard to please (and they despise both Marvel and DC), this seemed pretty significant so I decided to "acquire" the series so I can read it for myself. I was aware of this comic's existence before, but I wasn't aware of just how highly regarded it is, let alone the fact that it won the Eisner Award in 1997 for best writing. This is pretty different from the sort of stuff I usually read so I'm looking forward to diving right into it after I finish this post.
  15. I mostly see this from...sigh...white males. "I want to apologize on behalf of all white males for how we've been oppressing you with our privilege." Mother fucker, you do not speak for me.
  16. "I can't be racist or sexist because I'm not a white male." Just fuck off. Fuck you a thousand times. You don't get to just change the meaning of words like that because it's convenient for you. Anyone who uses this defense can seriously go eat a dick.
  17. Oh yeah, I also like to watch EVO matches. Don't like to watch things like LoL and Starcraft, though.
  18. I guess it depends on what you mean. I don't really watch Twitch streams just for fun, but I do think they can be useful when you're trying to decide whether or not you want to buy a new game. Streams can give you a much better impression of a game than a text review does, and they damn sure help more than a trailer. You really can't trust trailers anymore in this day and age. I'm not saying all trailers are dishonest, but enough of them are to make me suspicious of the rest. As far as watching Let's Plays, it really does depend on the personalities. That's just how it is. I mean, people love Mystery Science Theater, but when you boil it down to its most basic element it's essentially three guys talking over movies. I think in some cases the same applies to Let's Plays. I don't really care too much for people like Pewdiepie who just play by themselves and make comments, but I can enjoy Let's Plays where two or more people are joking around with each other like Game Grumps or Two Best Friends. I'm not saying they're as good as the Mystery Science crew, mind you, but I can still enjoy it on that level if the players are funny.
  19. Has anyone here ever tried to play Castlevania: Symphony of the Night on the vita? I feel like replaying it ever since Arin and Danny started doing a series on it, but I'm not sure if I should download the original PS1 version or the PSP remake. I'm weighing the pros and cons but I'm still having trouble deciding. PS1 Version + Original "so bad it's good" voice acting and dialogue + Cheaper than the PSP one + Exactly the same as I remember it - Not sure if the stronger vita hardware will improve performance or not - 4:3 ratio might not look too good on the vita screen - Original version of the game lacks any new content PSP Version + Includes Rondo of Blood and new content for SotN + Game has been updated with bug fixes + Might fit the vita screen better since it was originally a PSP game (not sure about this one) - Voice acting and dialogue has been changed - More expensive - Border around the screen which can't be removed. I'm on the fence. Anyone have any insight?
