*sigh*... new trailer... http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=9Ey4GQY_kJg This fucking voice... I just... ugh...
-
Yeah, re-reading his post, I was starting to wonder whether he actually meant the ending or earlier...
-
Actually, if I remember correctly,
-
I heard it's good but there is no way in hell I am buying anything directly through GFWL.

Man, I really need to keep better track of this shit. Back in december I was super psyched about Kavinsky's LP coming out. Then just now I find out it came out 2 months ago... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VdVUkCLA-CE

Went to see Evil Dead last night. It was alright. It's obviously nothing like the originals and I thought the tone was a bit too serious, but it was enjoyable enough. Definitely has its moments but it's mostly played straight. So there's never anything quite as amazing as this

Pro tip: there's pretty much always one. Whenever one expires, they'll put up a new one like a week later, at most. I missed out on using the last one for Knife of Dunwall earlier this week but I held off on buying since i knew there'd be another one before it came out. Also, this is a pretty useful sub http://www.reddit.com/r/gamedeals

Ah, didn't think to post it. It's usually pretty easy to find any vouchers if you head over to the GMG blog. It's linked at the top of the store.

That's kind of the problem with Civ multiplayer. The more people you have, the more complicated it is to play the game to the end. Unless you finish in a single sitting, I guess, but that could be long as hell.
-
Been trying to avoid pre-ordering lately, but this is Dishonored. I already know it's amazing. 20% off on GMG using the new voucher. Hardly a massive discount, but hey, better than nothing.

http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/04/12/impressions-civ-v-brave-new-world/ Looking pretty good. Seems like much more of a game changer than G&K was.

Really? That's... disappointing to hear. I could never get into Far Cry 2. I played something like a dozen hours across two different games ( had to restart it at some point) and didn't get really far in either one. I just couldn't get into it. Combat was fun and the whole fire thing was amazing but all that travelling was just so fucking tedious. I'm usually not a big fan of open-worlds in FPS. It's the same reason I never finished STALKER, come to think of it.
-
It sounds like the gameplay is largely the same. Just a completely different style and aesthetics. What didn't you like about FC3, though? I haven't played it myself but I've been hearing nothing but praise for it.
-
So... this is fucking amazing. I am so buying this day one. Really glad this is standalone because I haven't gotten around to buying Far Cry 3 yet.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EA1s9v2Ab8w Looking pretty good. I'll really have to properly dig into Dark Souls this summer.

I like Superman a lot but all of his stand-alone stories I've read were average at best. He's at his best when he's interacting with other characters, like in the Justice League stories. Hell, even the crossover with just Batman and Superman are infinitely more interesting.
-
Why settle for a single character? They should do a Justice League game!
-
I'm more interested in post-AC Hush considering how that side-quest ends. Also, yeah, don't think Joker will be a major player. They already talked about the plot a bit and it's about Black Mask calling a hit on Bats. So, it sounds like he's the main bad guy as far as I can tell.

Same goes for Arkham. But very few games will keep me playing once the story wraps up. Arkham City had really fun side stuff (arguably more fun than the actual story, imho), so I actually wanted to keep on playing even without a story. Tomb Raider, not so much. The only reason I'm going to keep playing TR for a little bit more is because I'm missing a single fucking thing to get 100%.
-
@Strangelove: Actually, you make a good point. When I said that, I was mentally comparing it to Uncharted 3. I don't think TR is better than U2 but it definitely is better than U3. Other than that, I agree. It's not as Metroidvania as Arkham City and some large chunks of the island are fairly linear so it's not as open. @Cowboy: True. I had the same feeling in Arkham City. Doing the side stuff was tons of fun but the pressure to continue with the story kinda worked against that.

Beat Tomb Raider last night. Man, that was a very, very good game. Arkham City-style semi-open world with better set pieces than Uncharted. What's not to love? After playing Infinite on hard and finding the challenge to be just about right, I decided to give this one a shot on hard as well. I really enjoyed how lethal it made the combat. I would go down pretty quickly if I wasn't careful and that really added to the survival feel of the experience. I think going forward I might do this more often instead of keeping harder difficulties for subsequent playthroughs. Other than that, I'd heard the campaign was about 16 hours long but around the 8 hours mark it became kind of obvious that that wasn't accurate. I didn't want it to end, though, so I put the story on hold and started backtracking and doing collectibles and challenges. Ended up beating it with 97% completion. I'm at 99% now and missing only a single mine that I spent an hour trying to find with no luck. Anyway, I really hope the suits at Square Enix pull their heads out of their asses and realize that those sales expectations of theirs were batshit fucking crazy because if this doesn't get a sequel I'm going to be angry.

Came here to post that. District 9 was fucking amazing so I have very high hopes for this. What's your problem with Matt Damon, though?
-
Humble weekly Blendo deal. Because I like Blendo's games. Plus I've wanted to try Flotilla for a while. Didn't go for BTA since I already own Thirty Flights. edit: also this Cause I remembered that it was out and how fucking amazing it looks.

Well, when you put it that way, I guess... It was kind of stupid how at the end of NV the game just left me to choose for myself who I wanted to side with. So many shades of gray, it was nauseating! Hopefully that low metacritic score that cost Obsidian their bonuses thought them a lesson and next time we'll have proper black and white factions with clear indications of what the correct choices are.

It hurts my brain whenever someone argues that Fallout 3 is better than NV. They're both good games but NV just has so much more going for it.
