  1. A collection of Edmund McMillen's (Super Meat Boy and Binding of Isaac) older games. Includes the original version of Meat Boy, which I remember playing as a flash game years ago. Curious to see how it holds up compared to the Super version.
  2. Spec Ops: The Line Wow. That was fucking incredible. Whatever Yager makes next, they have my attention. Oh and I played through Digital: A Love Story yesterday. It was a lot of fun for what's basically a glorified text adventure. Now I think I'll have to grab the current Indie Royale bundle before it ends because the sequel Analogue: A Hate Story is in it.
  3. Well, I reverted to that earlier save once again (so glad I made a manual save right before that part). I crafted some better armor (from the Kayran's remains) and found a slightly better sword. That gave me enough of an edge to beat him, though it was a close one. I'd overlooked my gear because I imported my original Witcher save and for a while I couldn't find anything better than the bonus gear I got from that.
  4. Holy shit, can you imagine Kratos sailing across the Atlantic and then killing all the Aztec gods? How badass would that be? Pretty sure David Jaffe once said his original plan was for Kratos to move on to the Northern pantheon (as in Vikings) after he was done with the Greek one. Seems a bit weird but it could've been great. So I keep hearing. About an hour left to the download. Think I'll take a break from Witcher 2 and play it right away once it's done
  5. Yeah, did that as well. Upgraded it with some runes and used the hangman's oil that buffs damage against humans.
  6. So, I'm finally playing through Witcher 2. Goddamn the combat can be brutal, specifically the boss fights. And I'm still only on Chapter 1...
  7. 20 bucks for the bundle on Amazon digital games. All redeemable on Steam. Had to jump through some hoops to get around their regional restriction, though. Seems they don't like dirty canadian money. Mainly got it for Spec Ops. Been really wanting to play it the past couple of weeks, what with all the great things I keep hearing about the story. I guess having a copy of Bioshock 2 is nice, too. I would've probably never bought it on its own.
  8. Okay, good. I was afraid you'd just posted a leaked spoiler or something. That would've kinda killed my excitement for the new season :/ As for how long it takes, I have no idea. I don't watch stuff when it's on, I just torrent the shows I want to watch. So I'll probably be watching the premiere a few hours after it airs. On a semi-related note, I finally got around to watching the last couple episodes of Torchwood season 2 earlier tonight. That only took me about 2 years... I'm looking around for Children of Earth now but can't seem to find it anywhere. I just might grab the bluray. Doesn't seem to be too expensive on Amazon.
  9. Are you certain about the 8th? I keep seeing the 1st everywhere, as in next saturday. I'll be very disappointed if that turns out to be inaccurate
  10. The weirdest thing about all of this is this rumor about the sequel http://www.shacknews.com/article/75203/rumor-popcap-preparing-plants-vs-zombies-multiplayer-shooter It sounds too crazy to be anything other than bullshit but... just think about it for a second... what if it isn't?! That's a new level of stupidity right there. One that I didn't think was possible.
  11. Yeah, the platforming frustrated me at times (that fucking Meat Circus level...ugh!). But for the most part, I thought the game was brilliantly designed. The level design in particular feels like a lot of thought was put into it.
  12. Psychonauts. It's.. actually as great as the internet's made it out to be. I am shocked.
  13. Finished Darksiders II and I was thinking I'd play either ACII or Witcher 2 after but now I can't decide, so instead I'm turning to the backlog and I need you guys to help me choose! Psychonauts vs Beyond Good and Evil! GO!

Think I'll do Psychonauts first, because it's long overdue, and then Witcher 2. Should keep me busy for the next week or two.

  14. Just completed it as well and... that's one way to put it I thought the game was absolutely fantastic, for the most part. Right up there with Assassin's Creed II and Arkham City and any other sequels that improved upon the original in every conceivable way. The game is massive, the quest feels epic, combat feels great, the dungeons are smaller but there's a metric fuckton of them, decent amount of side-quests and optional bosses, etc.. Most of my issues (and minor ones at that) were about the story. Right up until the final boss, that is. After beating it a few minutes ago, the ending really left a bad taste in my mouth. And considering that THQ's future is looking pretty grim right now and that there's a chance we won't be getting a third one, that kinda pisses me off. I could go on but I'd just be ranting and I don't really want to do that because I actually really enjoyed the game. I'm just really disappointed by where they went with the story and how incomplete and abrupt the ending felt. On a more positive note, I finally got x360ce to work with my shitty gamepad! Thank god for that because m+kb controls were kinda janky. Reaper form wouldn't activate, for example. Also, not related to the game, but I think I might have actually fixed an issue that's been plaguing me for almost 2 years now! That should make my PC gaming significantly less frustrating.
  15. Yeah, the new Friends tab really does give a strong Facebook timeline feel. I don't hate it but it's gonna take some getting used to.
  16. Got into the new Steam Community beta. Also got an extra invite if anyone's interested.

I didn't' know they were going to do a beta. I just thought they were going to roll it out.

Yeah, I can't imagine it lasting very long before they release it to everyone.

Steam Community would be the community tab on steam, the friends, groups n such. As for beta, yeah surprised me too, probably no more than two weeks. Client updates are quick.

  17. I did put a status up about going in for a four-pack. Damn, missed that. :/
  18. I don't normally buy this kind of 15$ game day one, but this is Double Fine and I've been hoping for a PC release of this ever since it came out on XBLA so I went for it. Darksiders II unlocks in about an hour and a half, though, so it could be a few days before I give it a try.
  19. It took me 3 weeks because I just had more interesting things to play. Most of the game boils down to walking around looking for the right doll so I would get bored after an hour or so and wouldn't touch it again for a week. It's not bad but some variety would've helped. It did get a bit more interesting near the end, though. It could've used some more of that. It kinda feels like they got those ideas too late in development to implement them everywhere.
  20. Stacking. It was fun and I really liked the visual style but I thought it would be better. You know there's a problem somewhere when it takes you 3 weeks to beat a 4 hours game.
  21. That one wasn't a pre-order bonus, though. It came out months after the game.
  22. Yeah, I've been aching to start ACII but there's no way I'd be able to finish it by tuesday so I've been looking for less time consuming stuff. I was thinking of either trying to get back into L4D2 or maybe giving Blacklight: Retribution a shot. But now I think Hero Academy is going to keep me busy for a while. Had it less than 24 hours and already got 9 hours logged according to Steam. Damn thing kept me up all night. O_O A chunk of that is just having it running in the background while you do other stuff until your next round of turns, but once you got a few games going there isn't much downtime.
  23. Wow, missing the point entirely... The point is that there's different shit at each retailer, meaning there's no way to get the entire game without either buying it 15 times or pirating it. And that practice pisses me off. Yeah, but an argument could be made that you do, in fact, get an entire game regardless of where you pre-order. And the different shit each retailer offers is merely extraneous crap that adds little to nothing to the experience. And don't get me wrong, I agree that this practice needs to die. But I really don't buy into the notion that not getting a special piece of armor, weapon or even a self-contained mission makes the base game incomplete in any way whatsoever. They're not "missing pieces" of the cake, they're more like shit flakes sprinkled on top.
  24. Grabbed the 2-pack with CrowKnow. I'm enjoying it a lot so far, but I really wish it had a "live mode", I guess you could call it, where both players play a game from start to finish in a single session. Kinda sucks to play for half an hour only for the other guy to suddenly stop playing his turns.
