  1. Yeah, I feel like I haven't played Tropico 3 (or its expansion) anywhere near enough to justify getting 4 anytime soon. Plus, from what I understand, it's largely the same game. Kinda tempted to get Recettear, though. The demo made it look like a fun game, but I always thought it seemed a bit overpriced at 20$.
  2. Need to finish season 2 first. I think the last episodes I watched were Still got two about 2 weeks before uni starts up again, though, so that should leave me more than enough time to get up to date on both.
  3. Nice. Really loved that two-parter. I was thinking I'd wait a bit before watching Tennant's last few specials. Space them out a bit, make it last. Maybe catch up on Torchwood a bit. Children of Earth is supposed to be pretty good. But now you got me curious and I kinda want to just rush through it to see the new stuff
  4. I knew that Russel T. Davies had left and that Steven Moffat was replacing him. And it seems like companions change every couple of seasons. But a new TARDIS? That's news to me. But yeah, watched the season 4 finale last night and it very much felt like they were bringing closure to all the major characters of the past few seasons. So I didn't really expect any of them to return going forward Oh well, at least there's still Torchwood for my Captain Jack fix. Also, there's a difference in the sense that I grew much more attached to Tennant's Doctor than to Eccleston's. I mean, the latter was only around for one season. And there's just something about the way Tennant played the Doctor as a kind of mad genius that resonated with me. Might be because I'm more used to american TV/movies, but I found it very refreshing. So Smith has much bigger shoes to fill. But it's good to hear you felt the same way and weren't disappointed. I have seen literally nothing of Smith's Doctor, so I really have no reason to be pessimistic about it. It's just that the last three seasons have turned me into quite the David Tennant fan.
  5. So, after over two years of not watching (perhaps even three, can't remember for sure), I've finally started catching up on my Doctor Who. Almost at the end of David Tennant's run and man, I'm going to miss that Doctor. At first, I thought it sucked that Eccleston left after a single season. But Tennant blew him right out of the water and was absolutely awesome in every possible way. I can't imagine that Matt Smith guy topping that :/
  6. Yeah, I realize that. I mean, there's this general sentiment that the Fable series tends to underdeliver. But I know that's only because Molyneux has a tendency to oversell. I mean, I don't expect the game to be bad. I wouldn't have bought it if I did, regardless of how cheap it was.
  7. Never played any games of the series and this popped up on Steam today. It's also 75% off until tomorrow, so I figured it was worth 2,50$ if only to see why Peter Molyneux gets so much crap The sale has only just begun, but I'd say 2,50$ makes for a reasonable first day
  8. Vanquish. For real this time. Fairly short (took me a little over 5 hours), but holy shit, what an amazing game. One of the best games I've played this year, actually. And it came out last year. I waited for a price drop because I knew it was short, but now that I've played it, I would've been fine with paying more than the 20 bucks it cost me. I had heard the game was hard, but I found it more challenging than hard, if that makes any sense. I'll definitely be replaying this one on hard soon. Not right away, though. Got a few other games to play first.
  9. Ended up giving it a pass when it was 15$ a few weeks ago. Now it's 10$. Good enough for me.
  10. AAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA So get this: not only did Uwe Boll make a sequel to his "Dungeon Siege" movie but it also stars Dolph Lundgren as a modern day ex-Special Forces guy who gets SENT BACK IN TIME. I don't know what makes me happiest: that such a thing exists or that I never heard about it until now.

Hey man, I will always defend Rampage as being an excellent movie from him.

But yes, the rest of his library is shit.

Well, that's kind of what he does.

With Uwe and Dolph, I was going to make a joke about finally getting a sequel to Universal Soldier... then I saw there were already SIX movies in that series... Now I'm too disturbed to think of a joke.

  11. So, uh, I knew this existed. But seeing it in action is... something else. http://movies.ign.com/articles/121/1215045p1.html

Ohhh damn that is glorious. Larry Butz and Lotta Hart look AWESOME!!!

  12. Damn! Vanquish arrived yesterday and Nier arrived today. That's uncharacteristically fast for amazon marketplace sellers!

Get on that NieR right this instant, young man.

  13. Puzzle Agent. For a Professor Layton rip-off, it's surprisingly underwhelming.
  14. Watched the first Starship Troopers with a friend the other night. Had been a solid 10 years since I'd last seen it. I used to like it a lot when I was younger, but holy shit this was a fucking blast to rewatch. Haven't laughed that hard in a while. Most of the satire went right over my head as a kid, so it felt like a completely different movie. Also watched REC2. I really loved the spanish original, so I'd actually been looking forward to seeing it. Just kinda forgot about it for a while. It's sadly not as great as the original, but still worth a look if you like found footage films. Personally, the movie sort of lost me early on when they reveal that
  15. Eh..... Quebec. Not sure what the actual time zone name is. But if I remember correctly, you're like, on the opposite end of Canada, right? So we probably have like a 4 hours gap or something. I actually started PW earlier and halfway through the tutorial turned it off because I felt a sudden urge to play MGS4 instead But considering the portable/pick-up-and-play nature of Peace Walker, I think I'll start it anyway and play them both at the same time instead of waiting until I finish MGS4.
  16. Well, I'm done with school until january, so at least I have the free time to sink into it. Remains to be seen if I get into it enough to do so. Think I'll give it a shot tonight, actually.
  17. Ha, PO is the one I quit halfway through on PSP. I've been meaning to get back to it, though.
  18. Well I just finished MGS3. Still as awesome as I remembered. Now I'm not sure how I should proceed, though. MGS4 or jump right into Peace Walker. I mean, I've been playing them in order of release, so MGS4 should comes first. But I'm thinking PW's PSP graphics might be a bit harder to overlook if I play it right after an amazing looking game like MGS4. In comparison, coming from MGS3's PS2 graphics probably won't be that huge of a gap.
  19. So, it seems Alan Wake is finally coming to PC. Part of me wants to say too little, too late. And I'm certainly not as excited for it as I was a year ago. But mostly I'm just glad I'll finally get to play it. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-12-14-alan-wake-pc-confirmed

It's not the same, Duke. But no, I'm not even going to bother with the game for now.

      MasterDex

I'm with CyberRat here. I have no desire to even pirate it.

I'm slightly interested, will probably pick it up for $5 on a Steam sale sometime.

And Duke, there's a difference between someone pirating a game they could buy but don't want to, and someone pirating a game because it is not available legally in their region.

  20. And once again, thanks to my complete beard-trimming ineptitude, I ruin a perfectly good 5 months beard! >:( I seriously need to get better at this. Or just go to the fucking barber...

Haha... I've never seen that ad, but I'm sure I'm not even in the first 1000 to compare the two.

  21. It's possible with Indie Royale since each game has its own separate key. Anyway, grabbed it as well. Paid 6$, split equally between the 3 options. This one has a pretty damn good line-up. I already own Super Meat Boy, but Cave Story, Jamestown and Shank are all games I wanted to try but was hesitant to take the plunge on.
  22. Wow, I somehow totally missed all the new posts when I posted that this morning. I probably shouldn't post before I've had my morning coffee...
  23. Take this with a grain of salt, but apparently people poking around the steam registry found what might be the content of the Humble Indie Bundle 4. Could easily be a load of crap, but if true I have to say that's a pretty damn good line-up. http://www.diygamer.com/2011/12/humble-bundle-bundles-leak/
  24. 10$ on PSN. Seemed pretty cool and my PSP hasn't been getting enough love lately. People here keep giving it very high praise, so I decided it's time I give it a shot. And once again, because I posted it in the wrong thread like an idiot
  25. I'm absolutely delighted to see Naughty Dog doing something new. Uncharted is awesome, but Drake's Deception definitely felt less special and I didn't really want them to squeeze another one out the door in another two years. As for the game itself, I'm intrigued. There really isn't much more to say about it at this point.
