  1. Well, it said to go to Weynon Priory and speak to Jauffre. That's also what Patrick Stewart told me to do, and I don't think the captain of the Enterprise would lie to me. Besides, I've played that part of the game before, that's how I knew where Weynon Priory was even though I didn't have the active quest marker to tell me. It really looks more like the quest just doesn't exist... I'll probably start over from scratch later to see if it makes a difference.
  2. Okay, this is starting to suck. I installed a bunch of mods and started the game. The second I got out of the sewers, I immediately got a message about going to see Jauffre at the Weynon Priory (main quest) and another one about some DLC quest. The DLC quest was defaulted as my current active one, but the main quest is nowhere to be found in my journal. I even made my way to Weynon Priory and even when I talk to Jauffre I can't seem to start the quest. I figured maybe the DLC quest has bugged out the main quest or something, so I deactivated all the DLC and reloaded a save from before I left the sewers. Now I get the message about the main quest, but the red arrow pointing to Weynon Priory is nowhere to be found on my compass, I have no quests in my journal and even when I got to the Priory, that asshole still won't do anything other than give me the same speech about the blades, the priory and whatever other topics I can select when I talk to him. What the hell...
  3. Awesome, thanks. The download finished on Steam earlier so I guess I'll start installing mods now.
  4. Is there a mod that does that or is it something I need to do manually?
  5. So, for some reason the Skyrim promos finally got to me and I've decided to start Oblivion while I've still got a month left before going back to school. I was going to ask about which mods I should install, but that's pretty much already been covered. So instead I'll ask this: which classes I should stay away from? I remember hearing about (and experiencing) the game being pretty unbalanced for certain classes. For example, playing a fighter could make the game significantly easier. In these kind of games, I usually tend to favor a mix of magic and stealth, but the first time I tried the game when I first got my PS3, I remember after a while things got pretty rough and I found myself unable to finish some quests because my character was too weak. I was only working on guild quests, though, not the main story. And I don't remember what class I was playing but it's safe to assume that it was at least part thief.
  6. Ugh... headed to a party in a bit. Promised some friends I would go, and I was pretty pumped for it last night but today I'm just not feeling it...

Well, I went and it was somewhat boring but at least I got pretty wasted. Very surprised I'm not hungover.

  7. It was very foolish of me to start a game of Civ V so late at night.

Well, somehow I managed to pry myself away from it and get some 8 hours of sleep. But now I want to go back!

  8. Brilliant game indeed. I am seriously nervous about the new Hitman game living up to it. Blood Money seemed to have perfected the formula, and now they're shaking things up a bit. Hopefully, it'll all be for the best. But really, when does that ever happen?
  9. Holy crap! Got into the Battlefield 3 Alpha somehow. No idea how since I own none of the Battlefield games, but this is awesome! I guess they're doing random selection?

  10. Oh man, I only got around to beating Demon's Souls a couple of months ago even though I had it pre-ordered and have owned it since launch. On the one hand, I can now look forward to Dark Souls with a clean conscience. On the other, I fear it might be far too soon for me to experience such punishment again. But still, it comes out like a week before my birthday, so if I ask for it I'll only have one other game purchase to make that month: Arkham City. So that's nice. November is going to hurt like a bitch, though. New Assassin's Creed, new Uncharted, MGS Collection... And I'm sure there's one I'm forgetting. Thank God I bought Black Ops last year, though. I sure as shit am NOT going to make the mistake of buying a COD title at launch ever again. And I have no intention of buying Skyrim until I AT LEAST beat either Morrowind or Oblivion, so probably like the week after never.
  11. Hmm, forum's offline in firefox but is all up and shiny in Chrome. What. Even deleted my cookies and still nothing. Help?

Hmm. Could be a DNS issue. Should go away after about 48 hrs or so.

  12. Been a while since I posted here. I've mostly been trophy hunting in previously completed games for the past few weeks. Anyway, I platinum'd BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger today. Normally a fighting game can't really be completed in the normal sense, but this one has a pretty deep ( for a fighting game) story mode and after playing through every character's story, I finally unlocked and played the True Ending story today. So I count that as beating it.
  13. So, any Lost fans here? Deleted scene from season 1 that proves everything was planned from the start! Straight outta Comic-Con

That's great. "If they find that Scottish guy down there pushing a button, they're gonna be pissed".

  14. This got stuck in my head because the stupid thing plays every time I start the damn game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RrMVte7EfQ0 And to make matters even more annoying, it's not even on the soundtrack I downloaded >_<
  15. Yeah, same here. I have a bit under 500 songs total (including previous game exports), but the completionist in me wants to keep working at those challenges hahaha
  16. That's not a bad idea,. I'd probably stick to quickplay for such practice, though. When I was going through the setlist on hard, I was doing the career challenges, and doing those with no-fail feels like cheating :/
  17. I thought Enslaved was pretty decent. Nothing mind blowing, but well worth the 20 bucks I paid. I did not get the DLC, though. At some point I should probably take some cash and instead of buying a new game, spend it on SP DLC I've been meaning to get. Off the top of my head, I need to get Dead Space 2: Severed, Pringe of Persia: Epilogue, ACB: Da Vinci Disappearance and the Enslaved one. Anyway, I've been keeping at the Rock Band Drums, though the difficulty curve on hard proved a bit steep. Shortly after making my previous post about it, I went from playing songs just fine to suddenly failing within seconds So I've taken a slight break from it. I still play daily, but I've went back down to medium and play mostly for fun rather than challenge. In other games, I've been mostly focusing on BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger this past week. I finally managed to beat the insanely hard score attack mode earlier tonight and now I'm only two trophies shy of the plat! Just gotta finish up the stories to unlock the true ending, and grind another 40 or so ranked matches online. Online is pretty dead, though. Maybe half a dozen people doing ranked fights on a good day. Had to grind most of the online trophies with Kovach_
  18. What do you mean? All I know is Sterling gave it a 10 and that supposedly helped sales quite a bit, but is there anything else to it?
  19. Man, I really wish they would localize the PS3 version of this That game looks absolutely terrible yet somehow completely awesome.
  20. Yeah, but it's not anymore. That's my point. It's not weird that they were doing it in the first place, but it kinda is that they still are to this day. I mean, granted, I was mostly a lurker back then, but this isn't exactly the same forum it was at the time.
  21. Am I the only one to find that a bit ... weird? I mean, aside from the Fucking Kotaku thread where we basically just complain against them, we have no affiliations with Kotaku anymore. Why do they even care at this point?
  22. So they let a shitty story full of plot holes and nonsense dictate game length?
  23. MW2 took me about 6 hours on my first run... Maybe close to 7, but no more than that.
  24. I find 10-20 hours to be the sweet spot for most games but I expect 40+ hours out of RPGs. But I'd rather a game be great and only 10 hours long than 20 hours long but half of it is artificial length like boring side quests and padding. Though it really varies depending on the game. The MGS games are notorious for lasting less than 5 hours when you skip all the cutscenes, but I don't mean that because for me a big part of the experience is the story and the first time you don't skip it. Stuff like COD with its 6 hours short campaign, though, is a bit more irritating. And I'm not a huge online gamer, so I never include multiplayer into the equation. I haven't touched Black Ops in months and only played the MP for about 25 hours, which is actually quite a lot for me. Normally I'll play online for maybe 10 hours and then move on to something else. Hell, I never even tried Dead Space 2's online. That's why I normally shy away from mp only games like Brink. TF2 is the exception here, and I don't think I ever reached the 30 hours mark on it.
