  1. When you pre-ordered AC3 from ebgames.ca did they mail you the case? Did you have to pay shipping? Also let me know when you start selling some of your PS3 collection. I could buy them for more than EB Games but still pay less than they'd charge me, profit for both of us!! Depending on what you have available.. of course.
  2. I don't know. I figured it would probably be something like that, but I was really hoping it'd be an actual episode, with something outside of battle. Fighting as Lightning is great, but losing the same fight over and over again till you get high enough level just screams "FILLER" to me. They couldn't design an area for Lightning to explore? This was really Square Enix's first time with DLC, but someone needs to show them Bioware's Lair of the Shadow Broker or the upcoming Arkham City DLC. Also, I know it doesn't matter but NO TROPHIES WHAT THE FUCK!
  3. I honestly don't think Square thought any of this games DLC through.
  4. Beat inFamous. Great game! Now to inFamous 2. (Initial impression: I do not like Cole's new voice).
  5. Oh, don't worry, not so much a spoiler. If you had said "Bran gets addicted to heroin in A Dance with Dragons, and overdoses" then that would be a spoiler. But mentioning that a character is still around is OK in my books.
  6. This Lightning DLC is the epitome of filler. What a wasted oppurtunity.
  7. Oh man, next season's only half of the third book? At this rate the kids are going to end up being adults by the time the final season rolls around.
  8. Hey! I've never played a Prince of Persia game before, but a bunch are on sale (PS+) this week. Which should I get?

Isn't PoP 08 basically hold stick forward and jump. Doesn't matter if you cleared the gap you just start back where you last jumped.

The combat was... interesting though. However, not really that interesting to make me finish the game.

elev3n: You are correct. The game could have been excellent (art style is neat and had some good puzzles), but the second-to-second gameplay just felt too on-rails for me.

I like it, and I do remember this forum discussing the topic, but the main issue is that while the previous trilogy was mostly puzzle rooms, '08 was an open world where the Prince's moves were used to navigate rather than solve most of the time.

It essentially put to question the usage of death in video games because without Elika, there would have been a lot of death since there was no rewind feature this time to save your butt.

  9. I'm starting to feel like the only gamer without an interest in Diablo 3. It's going to be a lonely next few months.

Johnny, don't try to detract from the achievements of the great and noble Korean people.

Fuck them, they owned us at StarCraft for the entirety of the original game. It's payback time. :P

THIS is why we need a like button on status comments.

  10. That's still unclear. I wouldn't mind a sequel, but Square really needs to put some more development into Versus, people would riot if we got another XIII sequel before Versus.
  11. Forget Diablo 3, the Snow and the Lightning DLC is getting released this week. http://kotaku.com/5910422/snow-and-lightning-star-in-final-final-fantasy-xiii+2-dlc/gallery/1
  12. Yeah that's a good point that Nintendo fanboys forget, a lot. While Nintendo always sold the Wii at a profit, they didn't get the software sales that 360/PS3 see. If Nintendo wants to up their profits this time around, they might want to try selling more systems to people who buy a few games a year.
  13. How did Peter know about that technology? At first I figured it was going to be the old fashioned way of meeting in a dead person's mind, like in season 1, but this way was almost a little Torchwoodish.
  14. THAT was a great season finale. But I am very happy that was not the series finale. I wouldn't have been as mad, but after seeing that future episode, I demand answers!
  15. http://www.ign.com/top/video-game-worlds Oh shit! They even got a British person to do the VO, so you know it's legit.

But in all seriousness, the best game world is obviously Hyrule in Ocarina of Time.

  16. Maybe, but in AC2 - ACR, I didn't really see the point of night time, it barely got darker at all. If video games want to do night, then make it dark so it'll change the way you play.
  17. I don't even know what the hell that means. I CUT YOU!
  18. It's really hard to do night correctly. Especially if you're in the forest, I'd love to see it get REALLY dark. Maybe force you to use your eagle vision?
  19. Yes, I really think anyone outside of Nintendo would be making a mistake launching a system, especially in this economy. Sony, especially, would be unwise to launch the Orbis. The PS3 is selling strong, and the gap between the 360 is very narrow and/or non-existant at this point. They have a lot of momentum with the PS3, they need to keep it up, and focus a lot of attention on saving the Vita. They could do themselves a lot of favors by not supporting the PSP in Japan anymore. That's hurting them, I think.
  20. Turns out the tunnel wasn't so bad after I upgraded Cole's abilities. Joy! And the boss fight wasn't bad at all. Now I can hover off the ground, sweeeet.
  21. AC2, ACB, and ACR all had day/night cycles (and maybe AC1? I didn't play that far). Though, basically, the sky got a little grayer, and that was it. Huge mobs of people still wandered the streets all night, and I don't remember it ever letting you move more stealthily.
  22. Thanks for posting that TFG. Seeing those pictures REALLY makes me hope the Wii U can upscale games. I know it won't... but it'd be... so nice... so very... very nice.............
  23. Actually First Nations people can call in wild animals to help them in battle. Most of my ancestory is Irish, but I can use the little bit of aboriginal blood that I have, to summon large squirrels and beavers.
  24. It's well documented W&S hates Canada and our awesome beer/mountains/boobs.
