  1. Good! I mean, I'd prefer the DS3 sticks, but it's still way better than the circle pad or the nub. I actually keep forgetting I have the right stick, guess I'm not use to that on a handheld.
  2. Vita!! Sorry for the crappy picture, but look how much bigger it is than the PSP. Honestly, as someone with bigger hands, I probably wouldn't have minded it being a bit bigger, just to give the face buttons and d-pad a bit more breathing room. No worries though, because it feels great in your hands. I was a big fan of the XMB but the Vita interface is great. Uncharted looks great, the aiming is different and will probably take some getting use to. Modnation Racers still has long load times. The screen is amazing. Not only does it look great, but it doesn't pick up many smudges (that was one of my worries), which is good because the Vita will require a lot of touches. The trophy, friends list, party apps all need to be combined into one. Near didn't seem to want to work in my area... maybe it's because Sony hates Canada? What's cool and unexpected was being able to play PS1 games when using remote play over the internet. So no matter where I am, I'll be able to sign on, and play some Final Fantasy VI. Anyways, back to Uncharted I go!
  3. HOLY CRAP! My Vita... it arrived. I have never had a package go from Ontario to BC (that's basically one side of Canada to the other) in a 24 hour period. Unfortunately, the delivery guy threw it on the doorstep and walked away, so it say there from noon to 3pm when my girlfriend got home. Fortunately, no one took it! I will post initial thoughts and maybe some photos later tonight. At the moment I am copying over Uncharted.
  4. Strangelove, what about the song?!?! How bizarre was that choice?!
  5. MY VITA!!! IT SHIPPED!!! I have no idea why Amazon.ca decided to start shipping early but I am excited. Very, very, excited. I was stoked for the 3DS last year but this is a whole other level. !!!!!!

I'm hoping Monday or Tuesday. The Canadian postal service in winter is actually a series of sled dogs, polar bears, and drunk Calgary Flames fans, so it's never too accurate.

  6. It was released on the Jan 31st.
  7. Ehh.. it bothered me yesterday, but the more I think about it, the more I think those savings will eventually be issued in discounts for PSP games. If they charge 9.99 for a PS2 game, most PSP games should be around that price (or a few bones higher) soon. Hopefully their promise to patch games to include the Vita right stick is true... I can think of a few where that'd be handy. Supposedly, if it's a game where the camera was controller by the facebuttons or d-pad you can map those commands to the right stick. In my Amazon.ca update: as of 11:30 pm, my order hasn't shipped (I placed my order at 8 am) however, Amazon.ca usually takes a day or so to ship, and I've read reports of other people getting "your Vita has shipped" e-mails, so here's hoping. I have about 10 hours in a car on the 16th (and another 10 on the 19th), so it'd be great to have the Vita. I was going to play FFVI or VII on my PSP but I'd much rather do some Rayman or Uncharted.
  8. Just finished Final Fantasy XIII-2.... great game. All I can say: SQUARE HURRY WITH THE DLC PLEASE!!! PLEAAASSSSEE!! Also, that ending song (which was the same from XIII, I think?) was horribly, horribly, out of place.
  9. Amazon.ca says it's already on sale?? I placed an order, it says it will ship soon and arrive early next week... we'll see.
  10. Hey! Sony! I thought PSVita games were going to be 5 or 10 dollars cheaper via the PSN? How come Uncharted is on the PSN Store at $49 bones, same as on Amazon? Huh?! Huh!?!?!

Actually, I don't know what I'm talking about, apparently. Some of the games have slight discounts but it seems a bit uneven. Uncharted is 49.99 retail and digital but other games are 39.99 retail and 37.99 digital, other games start at 29.99 retail. I don't know if each game being prices differently is a good thing or bad...

...I mean on one hand, that's how it was in the olden days of Nintendo carts. So if a developer feels that their game is only worth 29.99, then hey, that's good. But in the case of Uncharted, for 10 dollars more I got Uncharted 3, which is a much more polished, more varied game, that includes multiplayer. I guess it's more a matter of what they think people will pay. And they're right, I will buy the new Uncharted for 49.99.

      Faiblesse Des Sens

I think it's a matter of how "big" the game is. Titles they think will be popular will remain expensive I would guess whereas games that are "smaller" are going to be cheaper. I can see them doing this but I guess we'll see as time goes on.

  11. I always figured he didn't have any associations to the Alliance in ME2 but he was still Commander of the Normandy, this time via Cerebus.
  12. I saw a silver Chocobo in 200 AF Oerba. I did not catch it. Those special chocobo's are a pain to catch. Except for the gold one, which was the best find in the game, I think.
  13. The saves aren't a major advantage? (Also not seeing what'd make ME more suited to a TV over a monitor, but that's personal taste I guess. All my games go through the same display and it doesn't seem to hurt console/PC titles) Sorry, I was missing a point that Mass Effect 2 on the PS3 looks great, runs smoothly, and is totally worth a playthrough before ME3. That's what I'm doing. My ME1+2 savefile on 360 won't be completed, but there's really no regret there.
  14. Considering this is the 10th year of Kingdom Hearts, it'd make a lot of sense for them to do something like that. But if it was coming down the pipes you'd think we'd already hear rumours.
  15. Sign me up for Uncharted, Gravity Rush, and Rayman Origins. Maybe some Mod Nation Racers if the problems from the PS3 version are addressed. I'm really looking forward to LittleBigPlanet, that game looks ideal for the Vita. Sumioni looks awesome as well.
  16. IMO: get it on PS3. To me, a game like Mass Effect is more suited for a console. Unless you have your PC connected to a living room with home theatre/big screen tv, in which case go for that, but I don't really see any major advantages of PC over PS3.
  17. You didn't read the link did you? It's just a remaster exactly like MGS, Sly n God of War. Same engine, potentially improved textures (like the aforementioned games), same story, gameplay, etc etc. It would be a good idea to put out all three as a "PS2 Final Fantasy" box set thing (XI is fine to be left out). The big question though is which version they'll be using. I'm hoping for the Int'l/PAL one. I had previously read on Siliconera that the game was a complete remake from scratch. However, IGN is reporting that it's a remake. Which makes me wonder why not package the 3 PS2 games together. Course it's Square so they'll probably sell us just X for $39.99.
  18. Agreed! It should give this game a lot of life even after the main quest is finished. I was up till 2 am last night (I don't do that often) trying to catch a blue chocobo and then a green chocobo. So now my Serah is a Ravenger/Sabotuer/Medic, Noel is a Commando/Synergist/Medic, with Nuggets my (new) golden chocobo as a commando, Chirps, my blue chocobo ravenger, and Buster, my green chocobo medic.
  19. Holy crap. The platforming section in 500 AF is the most tedious, annoying, and frustrating section (to an otherwise great game) that I've seen this entire generation. It sucks on so many levels. First of all, for most of the game, when Serah is at an edge, she won't fall down unless you make her jump (and only sometimes will she jump). At this point though, she'll just happily walk over the edge of the blocks. And then when she does fall, she restarts WAY further back. To the point where it's easier to save, and if you fall, restart the game. That's just bad game design. I didn't even mention the switches/cactuar statues that are never explained exactly what they do. If they want platforming sections, which I think is a good idea, breaks up the gameplay but still compliments the Final Fantasy formula, they need to take a serious look at Uncharted or Assassin's Creed or something. Dammit Square!
  20. Me too. I don't understand why they don't work on Final Fantasy X, X-2, and XII collection like MGS, Sly, God of War, etc etc. Instead it seems they're building the game from scratch on the XIII engine, which means it will be a long time before they get to XII.
  21. Strangelove, I don't think we'll be be seeing a PS4 for a long time, so I think there's time for at least 1 more Uncharted on PS3. However, if Sony wanted to be serious about the Vita, why not have their top studio develop a game from their biggest (or second biggest, if you count Gran Turismo ) franchise for their new handheld? But I suppose that's not really Sony's style. Regardless it'll be interesting to see what the other half of Naughty Dog is developing at the moment.
  22. That sounds good. 40 hours is the perfect length for the main quest of an RPG. Anything else becomes a bit of a grind.
  23. The enviroments do look like Enslaved, which could be good, because that was pretty much the only good thing about that game.
  24. Yeah that news came out a few weeks ago. I wonder how much of that is side quests and how much of that is the main story line.
  25. I really like how you can do sequences out of order. I went through the wrong gate and hung out with Snow before I went and visited grown-up Hope.
