  1. Starting to plan my trip to New Orleans for Mardi Gras again. I can't wait to go back. Alligator was so delicious!

Love N.O.! Live about a 3ish hour drive from there...and didn't make it out this year. :(

I didn't either because it was too pricey. I did make it out the year before.

  2. I bought a pre-built PC, it was slightly more expensive than building the PC myself. We are talking less than $100 for the same specs, but this came with liquid cooling vs. my non liquid cooling. Really the biggest factor for me buying the pre-built was mostly because I had no idea what kind of case I should buy.
  3. Here's the trailer for A talking cat!?! But be warned, if you see the trailer the movie doesn't have much else to bring to the table beyond it.
  4. A Talking Cat!?! My brother and I were hung over Sunday, and he wanted to watch the Disney Tarzan and looked it up on Netflix. He miss typed it and got "ata" which pulled up "A Talking Cat!?!" This movie is so bad, its funny. Terrible voice over for the talking cat, to terrible acting and camera placement. By far the best part is the animation they used for the talking cat. It looks as if they realized the night before release they needed a way to differentiate the cat's inner voice from his outer voice. I recommend anyone who enjoys terrible movies to watch this. It all feels and looks like a lead up to a porn, but it never becomes one. That shouldn't surprise you when you find out that the production company specializes in porn. By far the best chemistry on scene is between the two sons in the movie, and its not even supposed to be a romantic interest.

I was reading some article about a transgender person and the comments sometimes just really upset me. The one argument I absolutely hate is the "Well he was born as a he so I am going to call him a he!" That is the absolutely dumbest and most assholey argument ever. It is a selfish and inconsiderate way of acknowledging another person. Calling a person by the gender they would prefer to be called by is no harm what-so-ever. You don't have to agree with someone to be considerate to them! By calling a transgender person by a different gender than they would like to be called is just being a dick to that person. If my name was Richard, but instead I decided to go by Willy, because of what ever reason I wanted to, nobody would be a big enough dick and say "I'm going to call you Richard because that was the name you were born with!" They would accept that you wanted to be called Willy and move on. Now I know that calling someone by the gender they would prefer to be called by is a form of acceptance of their life style, but it doesn't have to be, it can be just a way of being polite to a person. I cannot stand the world we live in. If you don't agree with someones way of life, you meet it with hostility. We live in a very angry world and I just wish people would calm down. I truly believe in letting people be who they feel/want to be, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else. Living near San Francisco, I find it to be very accepting of the LGBT community, and when I see two dudes/girls holding hands, kissing , and publicly showing their affection I get this overwhelming sense of pride of how far we have come as a society. I like to see the world in a positive light at all times.
  6. I want to read the Dark Horse series called "The Star Wars" which is a comic book adaption of the original Star Wars script. http://www.darkhorse.com/Comics/22-824/The-Star-Wars-1-Nick-Runge-cover The Description from the Dark Horse webpage: "Annikin Starkiller is the hero . . . Luke Skywalker is a wizened Jedi general . . . Han Solo is a big green alien . . . and the Sith . . . Well, the Sith are still the bad guys. High adventure and derring-do from longer ago, in a galaxy even further away!"
  7. Well, now that I've put some solid hours into Kotor (thanks to Revanchist), I've realized how amazing this game is. I don't think I've even dented the main story, I'm just enjoying my time in the game!
  8. I wish you said "he reminds me of a young me" to which I would reply "Naw, Young Mi had nothing on this guy!" Its a Simpsons joke or maybe a Family Guy joke where Homer/Peter makes fortune cookies. I want to say Simpsons.
  9. I'm running roughly that slow. Maybe a little faster at 60%. Partially I suffer from Open World ADD and just fuck around, the other part is I didn't want the game to end, and then I felt like the story hit a rough spot and I'm less inclined to continue to push through. I also just go online sometimes and not worry about the story.
  10. I need to finish up my work so I can go home, but I have no motivation what-so-ever to finish this project.

  11. I've never gotten into Life Hacker and io9, minus the few links that went there. I dropped Gizmodo almost completely, and I havent really read too many articles on Kotaku because I started to get the same stories and articles from other sites. Maybe I'll try reading their articles even though I probably have read similar articles on other sites.
  12. No, I base it off of the articles and content. Gawker sites have started to care less about the quality of the article and posting one liner articles and click baiting. I think I got a bit distracted when writing that last post. :/. I meant to say that the only site that I would want to join to comment is Jalopnik because the quality of the commentors, and I still respect the the site as well and use it for regular news.
  13. Getting worked up by idiots on the internet is infuriating. I always find myself mad at myself for getting caught up, and mad at the other person. You can't fix stupid, and sometimes you just need to walk away, even if they act like the victors (a big pet peeve of mine is when you walk away and they act like they destroyed your intellect). It doesn't help that I enjoy debating and arguing in a respectable manor. Thats one of the reasons I really enjoy this atmosphere, because there seems to be a mutual respect amongst users, even if it seems like things get a bit heated. I was glad when Gawker went to kinja and tried to force people to connect their facebook accounts, because it stopped me from commenting on their sites. For some reason almost all Gawker sites tend to have some of the worst commentors on the internet, which people generally agree with. I still read their sites, for better or worse, but they are the last source I go to, so most of their articles I've already read on other sites. Jalopnik seems to have quality commentors (when politics aren't too involved), but when talking about cars you love, its hard to argue with a person who loves a good car over another good car :/ . Thats the last Gawker site I still respect
  14. I just finished up my costume for this weekend! My friends and I are going as the Cast of Futurama. We have Bender, Flexo, Fry, Amy, Leela, The Professor, and I'm going as Zapp Branagain. My costume turned out phenomenal if I do say so myself! The guy making the Bender/Flexo costumes is using a machine shop that he works at. I'll post pictures of our romp around San Francisco.
  15. I would keep RDR on the list. Its a phenomenal game and I haven't really been emotionally blown away with a game much like that one... Although I haven't played all the way through Mass Effect 1 let alone 2 and 3, nor have I played Last of Us yet, and I have barely started Witcher 2.
  16. What is duping cars, and out of curiosity what is the hack to get billions of dollars? I probably won't do it, mostly because I enjoy a little challenge in the game (although earning money in GTA online is too easy as it is).
  17. I'd be upset if I wasn't going to be given $500k for having played it during the "Troubles". I mean seriously, I will buy one of the 200k apartments, and then I'll have 300k left over, I wouldn't even know what to do with the money in that game. Its a shame because money seemed like something that would help make free roam feel more than what it was in GTA IV. Sadly I think the best online so far by Rockstar was Red Dead Redemption.
  18. I think what irritates me is that there is a group of people who have admitted to refusing to move forward with negotiations until they are happy, yet there are hundreds of people blaming the opposite party! Many times I've thought about leaving the country, some for political reasons, others because I want to try out a new place. My political affiliation tends to lean towards democrat, although I'd say I'm almost down the middle. Frankly I just would have a hard time leaving the wonderful weather California has to offer and would hate to have to rebuy my electronics. Australia would be nice, but then I would end up with shitty versions of my favorite games.
  19. In all of the excitement of the new games coming out, I decided to play some Fire Red. Beat the game, and caught Mewtwo, only to realize that once I beat the elite four there is no real reason to keep playing the game. I'm not able to trade with anyone or battle anyone so I moved on to Sapphire. I remember enjoying the game enough to finish it back when it released (last pokemon game I actually purchased) but thinking it was the weakest game of the series so far. I'm playing extremely modified nuzlocke rules, meaning no dropping fainted pokemon unless fainted in a gym battle/major character battle, no catching the first pokemon I see but limiting it to one pokemon per route. I do like the world design in Sapphire, but boy do a lot of the pokemon seem like pokemon rip-offs. I also came to realize I don't like human shaped pokemon, that reminds me too much of Digimon.
  20. I even said "Oh I wont skip it even though people say to, because I don't really want to miss out on at least one of the chapters of the game." Now I have very little memory. I didn't think it was bad, but it could have been skipped and have no bearing what-so-ever on my experience and joy of the third game.
  21. I remember little to nothing about the story except that
  22. My favorite thing about this game is I never tire of it. I can put it away for a long while and be happy to pull it out at any moment. This game has made me a lot more interest in difficult games.
  23. I've got to poop, but our holding tank for our toilet has been over flowed. I could use the porta-johns outside...but naah. I'll wait until we fix our indoor toilet.

As in the bit above that holds fresh water?

A Holding tank is pretty much a nice way of saying a plastic septic tank that gets cleaned out every 3 or 4 days when a company cleans out the porta-potties. Some can hold fresh water, but this one... Not so much.

      Ok. Septic tank. Got it.

  24. I usually keep all my money in the bank aside from something along the lines of $50 because there are some items you need cash for (soda machines to heal mostly), and I thought about putting on passive mode, but then I like the fear of other players. The game is intense when you see another player and are unsure of their intentions. If I am getting too much shit I may turn it on, but I enjoy the fun in the whole be afraid of everyone. I do have a question, is Free aim always on or can you change it to have auto aim? I play single player with free aim, but you are at a disadvantage in quick shootouts with other players if they have auto aim.
  25. I got in last night and was able to play with my buddy. The tutorial in this game is just downright dumb. You can't invite players into your session (even though you start in a server) you can't join your friends session in progress, or really do anything until you do the first hand full of missions, ending with a team death match. But after we got it all figured out it was a blast. We started off buying masks, and hit a few shops in Los Santos, got chased out, went into Blaine County and hit up a few stores there. A player showed up in a helicopter, and picked us up after I crashed my car in a river (luckily I had insurance). We then started to rob more stores via helicopter. My buddy accidentally killed me TWICE while robbing, both times hit the trigger to kill the clerk, but he was standing too close to me and hit me with his shotgun. It was funny, but you lose a lot of money when that happens. We then did a few death matches, which were surprisingly more fun than I ever thought they could be. That was probably due to an overwhelmingly positive group of people. My first few minutes waiting for my friend to log on were hell though. I was in a server of just assholes. I was buying some guns and as soon as i get out, a player kills me, steals my car, says "thanks for the car, asshole" and then proceeds to wreck it. Of course this didn't destroy the car and the insurance company wouldn't answer my call. I had to get my car out of the impound, which gets you two stars, and get free. As it turns out, my car was almost undriveable, and another player was killing me as I was trying to do just save my car. I love that car (Sabre GT Red with white stripes), and I managed to get it in driving condition again, which was good. Overall, best GTA experience I've ever had, and this includes GTA IV online, which I always enjoyed free play on. The free roam is a little barebones when compared to RDR (I loved raiding bandits in that game), but its still phenomenal.
