  1. The Ultimate Universe was to help people get interested in the characters without having to put up with all of the convoluted plot lines in the 40 plus years of comics. Turns out, in about 10 years, Marvel kept changing what they wanted out of the Ultimate Universe, didn't want to fully reboot anything, and just made it more complicated. If you can keep up with it, or start from the very beginning (which is really cheap now) I suggest giving them a read because they are really well written and some really good fresh takes on old characters (particularly Norman Osbourne and his "hulk" style Green Goblin).
  2. Can you imagine that our Grandkids most likely will have the opportunity to fly to space and it will not be all that outrageous. Much like Skydiving is today

Is that with or without inflation?

With inflation. It will be the equivalent of a trip to the movie theater today.

I was thinking without inflation, but man isn't that scary to think that TME could possibly be right?

  3. Man I think I'm just going to say "Fuck it" and get the PS3 version, then buy the PC version down the line in the future when its on sale (much like GTA IV). This looks too good to hold out for a "they will most definately make a PC version, even if they haven't said so. Probably" type gamble. If only they would announce it, I could wait 6 months or more if they need it, but I'm not going to wait 6 months and then say "fuck it they aren't haven't announced a PC version" and then buy it on the PS3 and find that the online is dead. Multiplayer just looks right up my alley, like CP here I spent way too much time in RDR online.
  4. Hopefully they announce it soon. I will wait for the PC version if they say "Hey, we have a PC version coming too." Otherwise I'm going to buy the PS3 version.
  5. http://jalopnik.com/elon-musks-hyperloop-alpha-a-quick-and-dirty-explaine-1113185977 I hope this is something that can be achieved and affordable. If so, then I can go home to visit my parents for dinner any night of the week.

TCP: I'd go to Vancouver just for the vegan food. Day trips galore. Ditto for Portland.

I know, I was just trolling you. Actually considering most of the west coast cities are fairly spaced out compared to the more densely populated east coast, this could be great... in 20 years :-/

  6. It looks like (I could be wrong though) its not a full evolution as much as a per battle stat booster. Either way I agree, consider the Shark jumped, or the Sharpedo jumped!
  7. Got my own office at work! Really excited, plus I get to get all new office supplies for it. Such a strange thing to be excited about.

Since I work from home and sharing an apartment I think by default I have the best office.

Though I am looking forward to moving into a place where I don't sleep and work in the same room.

What do you do, if you don't mind my asking, FDS?

I'm still trying to convince my work to give me two monitors, much less my own office. :(

  8. I've never played the Kotor games, and I have the first but never got around to it. Is there a book that I can read that will give the story of the games without me having to play the games?
  9. Did anybody see that episode of Better of Ted where they tried to make lab grown meat? They exercised it by stimulating the meat with electrical shocks and what not, but the episode was rather funny. Every time I see this stem cell meat, I think of that episode.
  10. I shouldn't be as excited as I am for the announcement of Everquest Next. I haven't played EQ in over 10 years, yet I sill have urges to go back

  11. I believe that was the case, although there was a multiplayer skin of the hero from Revolver.
  12. I am madbassman.7542 on an NA server! I'll add you!
  13. I've actually recently started to play GW2 as well. Although I'm playing mostly on PVE. The population on the server is usually on "high" but I hardly see anyone running about these days. I do every so often, but its a lot more rare.
  14. I saw Spamalot, I enjoyed the play, but my theater experience was not what I expected. I was in NY 6 or so years ago visiting my brother and we decided to go see it. He tells me "we should buy 'standing room only' tickets, it means that you wait until the theater stops allowing people inside and you get seated in the empty seats." He was wrong. It meant that you get a little half wall with a cushion on top to rest on and stand in the back of the theater, which had a balcony so I had to really lean down to see God in the play. Still a good play to see.
  15. I agree with FDS. Funny, but not brilliant. Although I bought the film when the local Blockbuster went out by my place. I was a huge fan of the Holy Grail in my younger days and I would say my interest in humor has gotten more sophisticated, but I still laugh my ass off to that movie.
  16. I enjoyed season 4, but in my opinion it was the weakest season. I have been watching Orange is the new Black. Very well done show. It starts off a bit strange, but you get used to it and then its really funny. Worth watching if you already have Netflix, maybe you'll enjoy it maybe you wont. Its strange and uncomfortable, but my gf and I both enjoyed it.
  17. I actually haven't done much beyond the demo area, but the combat just interests me more than it did in the demo. It just feels more indepth than what the demo led me to believe.
  18. Kingdoms of Amalur. I picked the game up for $7.50 and figured I'd play it at that price. First thing I thought was "man the demo does not do this game justice one bit." Maybe I'm still riding on the coattails of Darksiders 2 gameplay, but I'm enjoying it a lot more than I did the demo.
  19. My work upgraded my computer from a 4+ year old Macbook Pro to a new one. I have never been a big fan of macs, but the screen plus the quickness it loads up apps and programs is impressing me greatly.

Jelly. I can't justify getting a MBP... yet. Maybe when they release a Haswell version. I want to get the 13", not yet sure if I should go retina or not.

I think this'll be the last laptop i'll own. It really is only used for Web Browsing. I can't justify spending more money on a laptop when i've got a Tablet and a gaming PC upstairs. So this has got to last me another 3-4 years at least. Maybe i'll buy myself an Retina Air when i hit 30.

Yeah, I don't anticipate ever owning a personal laptop again (my computer at work is a laptop though). For home my desktop + nexus accomplish pretty much all I need. It's nice being able to play PC games through Splashtop on my old laptop, but not enough to justify a new one when this one gives out.

  20. Darksiders 2. The ending was a great way to end deaths journey that doesn't conflict with the first games ending.
  21. To piggy back on Mr. Jack's difficulty on game tropes there should be less of, there should be more options to change the difficulty in-game. I hate it when I don't know what difficulty "normal" is. Sometimes its too easy, others its too hard.
  22. Im with Wally on this. Most movies don't shy away from these kinds of references, and even if the mainstream couldn't get it, there is always the internet. I mean it wasn't an integral plot point, more of a nod to the character. Its like the post credits of Thor or Avengers, mainstream audiences don't understand those references, but that didn't stop them from including the endings in a vague way. I even think it would have been equally as secretive if Blake never had the false name and just went by the name Rich, or Richard. People who would have made the connection did so already in the film.
  23. I caved after reading anything about Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes. I am on a strategy kick these days and man that game just looks fun.
