  1. That controller was supposed to be, from first impressions, very comfortable. It was community outrage that forced Sony to go back. I know I was against it (look at the L1L2/R1R2 buttons All the way in the center)
  2. My thoughts exactly. I do that all the time now, its really not a matter of one being uncomfortable or bad, its just one feels better in my hands than the other. The DS3 has qualities that are better than the 360 and vice versa. Ultimately I prefer one over the other, but I'm not unhappy with either one.
  3. This is a huge problem with the controller. I'm not easy on my controllers, and both my Playstation and 360 controllers have this problem, but it took me almost 3 years for the PS3 controller to break and less than 1 for my 360 controller. Still the ergonomics of the 360 controller really are, in my opinion, the best.
  4. I have no reason to be excited for MIB3, I just am! Can't wait for that film!
  5. Honestly, I would love to see a game based off of the comic series in Russia. That would be great. A mongolian assassin in China, fighting during the construction of the great wall, that would be really cool. I also really liked the idea of Egypt. In fact America was the one I was least interested in, until I found out you would be playing as a Native American, then I was excited about the prospect of fighting the Americans. I don't think Americans are evil, but I always see history from the American point of view, and we have not been innocent the entire 200 years. It would just be nice to see things from a different perspective.
  6. yes, but that doesn't stop the feel of the triggers when you press them. They still are squishy when you press them, they don't quite have the feel of pulling a trigger, instead they feel like pressing a pedal. I like them for driving games, but not much else.
  7. I'm hoping Washington is the bad guy. I also agree to see the Americans as the good guys is a disappointment. We are playing as a Native American, so it wouldn't be a super far off idea to see the Americans as the villains. Good and bad is all a point of view, so to see the main character hate the Americans, making them the bad guys doesn't seem to be to far off of an idea. We already know that Washington is involved, through previous games (the Eden ball thing). I would hope to see the main character find both sides have good and bad guys, meaning that he doesn't align with either side. Also, it's important to know that the founding fathers of America were part of the Freemasons, which are a fraternal organization derived of the Knights Templar
  8. I hate sand worms. As a gaming mechanic is dated and needs to be taken away from games all together.

Man, but if you take away generic worm enemies then Starfox won't have anything LEFT!

  9. I find the PS3 triggers to not be very good, they are squishy, and they don't quite have the feed back I am looking for.
  10. The D-pad on the 360 is terrible, but the sticks have the right resistance in them, they don't feel loose, and I love the way it rests in my hands. So I have to go with the 360 pad. The DS3 is absolutely second, but I with the sticks felt more like the 360s and the triggers were actual triggers. I like the way they are for driving games, but they just feel too squishy most of the time. The DS3 just seems to cramp my hands up after longer play sessions. EDIT: As far as the stick placement goes, I'm on the same page as FDS, I never notice that they are in a different place, I just manage to not notice it.
  11. I'm super pumped for John Carter, Avengers, and Spiderman. I don't like the design for the Lizard in spiderman, but it still looks like a good movie (I was hoping to go more along the lines of the ultimate spiderman's lizard)
  12. I hope you don't fight for one side or the other. I hope the main char. is neutral, and there are Templars on both sides of the war. I'm not a fan of factions (Figuring out what faction I want to join is always hard), so I just hope that you end up on both sides through out the story, leading to great twists!
  13. I think thats why I enjoy them. Its like watching a child try to play a game, but at the same time with a brilliant vocabulary and can be very witty at times.
  14. Awesome, looks good. I also appreciate the links provided as I plan on building my pc soon, so this gives me a starting point!
  15. If you enjoy the Yogscast crew, you'll love these videos, if not, these are still some great youtube videos on GW2 public beta to watch. I've been watching them almost religiously. http://www.youtube.com/playlist?feature=iv&src_vid=jA6TPoWWdV0&annotation_id=annotation_727548&list=PL2EE83973FE2CC4F2
  16. http://www.destructoid.com/elephant/photo-m.phtml?post_key=223023&photo_key=216472 Boom. Claims its official leaked box art. Frankly, I'm really excited about this setting. I would've preferred the French revolution, but the main character sounds really interesting to me
  17. I am, so I thought the rating system was due to my intel graphics card (which still should have higher ratings) but then I changed to my "high performance" card and the rating was the same. Its annoying. I've also noticed that when I have some more intensive programs running, visual effects drop (scrolling through web pages, selecting an item in the windows menus all have screen tearing) This is the reason I reformatted my computer in the first place and now its all happening again. I'm going to send my laptop in to HP because of these recent (and very irritating) performance changes, and my keyboard always had a really sensitive caps lock key, along with my mouse pad not working. I get the feeling I may have gotten a lemon... I want to get a smaller computer now, and build a desktop gaming rig. EDIT: Well today, all my issues have been solved. All by themselves. WHY? I don't know. Still sending it in to get the keyboard/mousepad fixed, going to complain about performance, try to write an angry letter just to get a new version of the same computer (doubt that'll work), and see what that can get me.
  18. My laptop specs are as follows: Windows 7 64 bit, Second Gen intel i5, 6 gb Ram, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470. When I rate my computer I get the following ratings: Processor: 6.8 Memory: 7.1 Graphics (desktop performance for Windows Aero): 2.3 Gaming Graphics (3D business and gaming graphics performance): 4.6 Primary Hard disk: 5.9 Originally the Graphics (2.3 rating) was at a 5.0 but recently, for some unexplained reason, dropped me down to a 2.3. Why is so low and why did it change? What do I have to do to fix it? The whole thing has me pissed off, there are a some issues with slow down that didn't exist before, especially when I open up windows media center. I can forgive this all, mostly because they are very minor, but the change in rating has me disturbed. Something isn't right and I can't figure it out.
  19. For fun, I'm writing Haiku's to Ellen DeGeneres via twitter. They aren't good, but they exist

(So I don't think mbm's comment was a haiku, although I have heard that you generally are supposed to use "on" instead, which I have no understanding of."

I actually have not (intentionally) made a haiku in this thread. I just wrote to ellen saying how I thought she was awesome.

  20. You're on Xbox? They have gotten somewhat of a patch of PC already, but I know what you mean. It's a nasty combo to be on the other end of. I am on the Xbox, although I wont be able to play until monday at the earliest. I love the game, but yea, its nasty. I refuse to use the combo out of principle!!! That is also something I am excited to see go, especially on levels like Terhan Highway
  21. I'm very active. Frankly I'm glad they are nerfing the USAS frag rounds. Hell I'd be happy to see it go all together.
  22. Got back from a mini vacation and had a message from Johnny 'bout the beta sign up (as I've been gushing about this game to him non-stop), I really hope I get in. There are a lot of videos from the beta over the weekend that the press was allowed to participated and video record. Watching some of the videos makes me so excited for the game, its turning out to be exactly what I was expecting! Can't wait to buy this game and hopefully participate in the beta. EDIT; Video of WvW
  23. The pop up window seems to work great. I prefer the like system, mostly because that's how people were starting to use the rep system (I know I caught myself up voting comments I just agreed with) as opposed to its intended purpose.
  24. I can't say for DAoC, but I read that entire blog, and this is my general understanding. 4 maps, all part of one large map (whether they are seamless is unknown to me, I would assume so), 3 of the maps are called "Borderlands" where each army starts, and the center map which has a huge cap. These battles persist over 2 weeks, every person is roughly the same level, but you don't level up, you just have a fighting chance. (Players who are higher level will have better gear, more skills and so on, so lower levels are at a disadvantage, but not a major one). In these borderlands/center map, there are forts, camps and towers. The camps provide supply, which make it easier to upgrade forts, build siege weapons, and repair walls. Forts and towers give you points for you team depending on how long you hold them. They also provide armies to help fight along with you. The forts, towers, and camps all start with NPCs which you have to kill to take over. Then you occupy them and NPC's spawn for your army, and defend the other two teams from trying to cap your fort/tower/camp. To attack a fort/tower, you have to bring siege weapons and tear down the walls and kill the NPC leader. So those sound like a lot of fun. All this is happening on a single server, with teams all consisting of 100+ players per team. Rumor has it there is a cap of 500 per map, which allows for 1500 people on at a time. This allows for some seriously epic battles. Also the down time between these two week battles will be 5 to 10 minutes. There is a ranking system that allows the worlds to become the best world and you fight worlds who are equal in rating as yours.
