  1. For some reason I never noticed that Best Buy sells a lot of preowned games for $5 with free shipping. That ARENT old ass sports games. I got these two.
  2. Then I wont. I avoided Serendipity completely.
  3. Sazh dlc today. Ill definitely get it, but Im not sure when.
  4. How do you guys feel about volunteering? I "volunteered" to help some friends of mine to help them open their bar. Theyre the owners and I asked if they could give me a job there. Its not a sure thing, but I figure if I help it could help me get that job.

I found one of my gig like that. Stage building was quite fun for a part time gig.

Then the economy went to crap and eeyup.

I volunteered a lot when I was younger. Most people see you volunteering as a good thing and they will reward you in one way or another. My volunteering as a camp counselor has led me to meet so many contacts in the professional world its unbelievable. (Including a former governor of California)

Doing something is better than nothing. Good luck in your job search. :-)

  5. I envy you. Id do anything to play Uncharted 2 like it was the first time again.
  6. I feel like such an asshole for liking wtf endings. Most gamers seem to really hate endings that veer off or just leave with asking more questions. Those are actually my favorite endings. I loved Enslaved's ending, AC Brotherhood's ending, and ive actually enjoyed all the "twists" in the Uncharted games. And yeah, I even kind of liked FF13-2's ending. Sue me.
  7. I actually still love Uncharted 1. Its inferior to the other two, but it has a lot of Elena. Shes one of my favorite videogame characters ever.
  8. If I remember correctly, it was patched in later with the trophies. Are you at least getting trophies? Otherwise, you should update it.
  9. The only game im playing is Super Mario 3D Land. This game frustrates me at times. I fucking HATE the levels that have a dark shadow Mario who follows you and mimics what you do. Those levels annoy the living shit out of me. Ugh. Ive turned off this game in frustration so many times that ive lost count. That being said, Im on special level 7, so im almost done.
  10. A friend offered me a job, but I have to know Excel. I havent used Excel probably since 2002 or something. I looked up a tutorial online and my head blew up. Ugh.

  11. Super Mario 3D Land's special stages make it the only Mario game ive actually found hard. I feel like I just keep trying levels over and over until I get lucky.

Stupid Shadow Mario. I hate that asshole.

  12. I play every single game on normal, but im not gonna lie - I changed Dragon Age Origins to easy 10 hours into it. I heard the pc and console experiences are different, but it was very difficult on the PS3 for me. If i hadnt done that I would have hated that game.
  13. Why do most people say that the gameplay outside of investigations in LA Noire sucks? Its almost exactly like GTA4's gameplay. I hated GTA4 and I didnt like LA Noires gameplay for that same reason. Are we all on the same boat here? Or is LA Noire's running, driving, and shooting better than GTA4s?
  14. I always thought itd be a good idea to fix up the health of your character and the enemies to make the game ridiculously easy. I personally have some of the worst accuracy ever. Ive met lots of people with the same problem. Thats why so many stick to stuff like Angry Birds instead of basically ever other game. There should be a beginners mode in Bioshock that gives you twice as much heatlh and cuts the enemies health by over 50%. Sure its laughable to us, but for people who are going to unload a machinegun on an enemy and miss most of those shots, it would be a godsend and i think they would still have fun and enjoy the combat. You have to make easy modes where you wont hardly ever die unless youre a 2 year old.
  15. I dunno. I think a lot of people skip games that theyd enjoy the story of just because the gameplay sucks to them or its a genre they dont like. I personally dont like adventure games, but I loved Grim Fandango because of its writing. I really dont find those games fun and this was no exception. Me playing that game was a complete fluke. I would have loved for the game just to solve shit for me if I couldnt figure it out in 15 minutes. Those old Fallout games and stuff like Baldur's gate? Never gonna play those either. Not my style. But I assume they have pretty decent stories that Im probably missing out on. rpgs though? Yeah, most rpgs are 80% inflated gameplay and the rest is story and cutscenes. Well, unless its an FF game. Then id say its half and half. While people argue that videogame stories still suck compared to literature and film, videogames are only rising. It is getting better and videogames in the last few years have been shifting towards storytelling and filmlike quality as it's main draw. Back then stories were just inconsequential, now its a draw. Not everyone has time or the effort to learn statistics about guns or finding hidden objects to keep the story flowing. Gamers need to realize this. While videogames now are piss easy to us, for the average person they still ask a lot of them. Theyre more complicated than before. To be honest, I think one of my friends would totally love Bioshock 1 and ME2....if she knew how to play videogames. I feel like shes missing out big time. There needs to be a solution to this. Options never hurt anyone.....except gamer's egos.
  16. Am I a giant PS3 fanboy for still finding 360 games with multiple disks funny? I wouldnt personally mind, except that even the PS2 hardly ever had more than one disk. Neither does the Wii. It reminds me of the PS1 era. And I find that funny.

Outside of Xbox and Playstation; Sony and MS work pretty good together. Look at the laptop commercials, Skype hitting Vita Sony Films, Crackle etc on Zune.

It's only in a few crazed gamers minds that the two companies are some clash of the titans battle. I think most forget they're giant multi-faceted companies. The A&D/SCE dept's are just one small part.

Skyrim ran like shit on the PS3. I still can't believe I played 120 hours of that. Never again.... well at least not until expansion packs!!!

  17. I really need to decide whether to get ME3 or not. Either I dont get ME3 and I have money or I get it and be broke for 2 weeks. Hmm...

I agree with all these guys at once except for Saturnine Tenshi. That's possible, right?

  18. That extra mission for saving the Rachni Queen seems inconsequential. Its not an important thing in ME2, and as far as I can tell, the comic only highlights super important things. It feels like something that will have consequences later on. I felt uneasy when I let her live, even if I hadnt played ME1.
  19. BTW, was there a point to the Rachni Queen living or dying? I had to make that choice in the ME1 interactive comic, but it really didnt seem to do anything in ME2's world. Or did it? Feel free to spoil it for me.
  20. FYI You can choose between killing Ashley or Kaiden in the PS3 version, but Wrex was alive in my game. I forget if they let you pick that or if it just happens automatically. I have no idea who the Kirrr whatever person is though. Honestly, after playing through ME2 multiple times, the game hardly ever references ME1 in any meaningful way. Aside from cameos by old ME1 party members, I never felt lost in ME2. I never felt references were being made that I couldnt get. Except Ashley. I dont know how ME1 people feel about her, but to me she acted like a total bitch in ME2 and I really dislike her now.
  21. Well, I canceled my ME3 preorder from Amazon. I cant afford it anymore. I got really drunk this weekend. It costs lots of money to do that apparently.

I NEVER spend more than 20 bucks at a bar. I just dont. But I was supremely drunk on saturday night and I was somehow convinced to buy several people drinks. I spend about 32 dollars. Maybe im greedy, but I feel so much regret about that now. I feel like I got tricked or something.

      Waldorf and Statler

You didn't get tricked Strangelove. In a social setting, many folks forget they're not rich and invite everybody for drinks. That's what happened to me. I bought like 4 drinks for girls I had no plans in sleeping with. A good plan is to pregame at someone's house with cheap beer.

Don't worry too much Strangelove, I got ME2 a few months after release and it was around 20 bones.

  22. I didnt play past the ending. I usually do but I HATE finding items without a checklist. I hate going back to do something I probably already did. Fuck those wild artefacts. I just lack the patience for it right now. Not only that, but I NEVER got Lightning. Fought that bitch over 30 times and nothing. After fighting her 30 times you should just get her automatically.

I love Kotaku's sports coverage! No other site out there covers sports games with nearly as much depth or interesting perspective. It's something to make Kotaku unique. It helps that Owen Good is a pretty good writer :)
