I think it's because of stuff like the Timothy Zahn books, the Jedi Knight games and what have you. The good stuff.

I know we've had this discussion, and like I said on Twitter nothing in the blog post changes its canon status, it just says they're not holding themselves to it, which they never were. :P

Strangelove, I will be sending you one plastic container with my tears enclosed. Do not worry. I do not have eye herpes as far as I know.

  1. Do the PC versions look at all better than the console version? I always thought Bioware games were kind of technically crappy in general. Plus, they cant seem to make humans look not creepy. I don't think any amount of frames per seconds or resolutions would fix that.
  2. Id wish you good luck but you wouldnt know what to do with it if you got it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8kZg_ALxEz0

  3. The map in Batman Blackgate is all kinds of fucked up. I dare say the map is more confusing than the actual game. Youre better off just remembering every single room and area in the game than to ever rely on that map. I just cant make any sense of it. Its a 2D game, those arent hard to map. The game itself is pretty good, way more Arkham than Metroid. I wish it was more Metroid though. The game is ridiculously slow(im not sure why it has a run button, it doesnt need one, it should be run by default) and confusing at times. I just feel this type of game needs to move faster and be smoother. I was ok with removing vents in the console batman games, but here it really annoys me. Everything has a slow spot where Batman just stops so he can start his next animation. You cant run and roll without stopping, you cant run and use your grapple, you cant grapple from one place to the other without landing somewhere first. Using your batarang or explosive gel takes forever too. And I know a lot of this stuff isnt essential, its not like theres a penalty in the game for taking so long to do these mundane things, but having these things flow from one to the other makes for a way better experience. Im the type of person who really notices stuff like that. So far the puzles are weird too. I suppose thats not the game's fault since with Metroid and Castlevania you can spot the puzzles and stuff from a mile away since these games have been around forever. You know what youre supposed to do when you see a different colored door in Metroid. Youre just not going to get through without finding an item to open it with. The equivalent in this game to that varies. You dont know if youre stuck or not. You could be there for a while trying to figure it out only to realize you should have gone back to a previous level to find something to help you progress, or you go look for something only to realize you didnt need anything and it was just a stupid puzzle you couldnt figure out. But thats just goes without saying for this genre. And while the fighting in the Arkham games is fun, Im kind of bored by it here. Its essentially the same, but the enemies and the placement dumbs it all down. You just cant do all the cool stuff you could in the real games. Im 2 hours in though, so Im crossing my fingers and hope it picks up.
  4. Captain America 2. It was pretty rad. Great fight scenes and lots of them, though not to the point of exhaustion. I hate relentless action movies with no breathing room. I like playing Ninja Gaiden, but I dont like watching it. A lot of stuff from the first one is picked right back up and somehow it still makes sense and works. Though over the years I've become very annoyed by "leave them wanting more" endings. I know these movies are part of a larger puzzle, but I think what happens in these movies should still be self contained and satisfying. I felt a lot of stuff was just left there. A LOT of stuff. Or maybe Ive just become too invested in this whole thing. I just wish the only thread left over would be the stuff involving the credits scenes. Also, theres a lot of nods and references to the past Marvel films. Its getting to the point where I feel like a lot would be missed if you just saw this one by itself. Youd be entertained, but a lot of appreciation for certain things would be lost on people. "Why the fuck was Garry Shandling in this for 2 minutes?" Im not sure if I should envy people 20 years from now who watches one of these movies, likes it and then wants to watch all the rest.
  5. $12 on PSN, so I figured what the hell. And I am going to be setting my bar extremely low for this one. I love Metroid/Metroidvania games and I really doubt this will live up to either.
  6. In episode 2F09 when Itchy plays Scratchy's skeleton like a xylophone, he strikes the same rib twice in succession, yet he produces two clearly different tones. I mean, what are we to believe, that this is some sort of a magic xylophone or something?

  7. Yeah, if you lack patience I wouldn't bother with Paper Trails. This whole thing works if you do the missions as they come out, but running through all the missions like I did? It exhausting going back and for between my Mac and my PS4. It feels like a hassle. I like the idea of it, but it has to be spread out. Otherwise youll start noticing how repetitive it is.
  8. I hope no one expects Origins' gameplay, because this doesn't look like it.
  9. Well, as much as I do like the Paper Trails missions, I gave up on the 5th one. They redo the most annoying puzzle ever but instead of numbers now they use symbols. Fuck that.
  10. Boobs coming out of a butt.
  11. I agree, but on principle they cant sell it at a dollar. At least I think thats what Nintendo feels. I just bought it because Ive been wanting to replay it and I just wanted an excuse to use my Wii U.
  12. If anyone finds a Slipknot chain wallet and a Zero Tech Deck fingerboard, they're mine. Dont give me any sass about it.

  13. $5 seems reasonable enough. Oddly, $8 for a GBA or $10 for a SNES game is not. They need to(but wont) chill with their VC pricing.
  14. You really should buy the biggest card(64gb). Or at least a 32gb. Its expensive, but if you buy a smaller one and trade up, the resell value on those cards sucks ass.
  15. Im not sure why people hate Singer so much. I can only assume it's because of Superman Returns. I havent seen it but even if I had I wouldn't blame all it's problems on him, Superman just sucks. Man Of Steel sucked too. And so have almost all of the Superman movies. On the other side of the coin, he directed the first 2 Xmen movies and produced First Class, so he's had his hand in all the good Xmen movies. Theres no reason not to trust him. I still dont though. I dont blindly trust any director. If you do though, you should probably trust Singer. Terrible costumes(in EVERY Xmen movie) aside, he's done alright.
  16. Finally a REAL trailer. Goddammit dont fuck it up, Singer.
  17. So I started watching Veronica Mars after hearing about how good it was, and it totally is. Im halfway through season 2. Im enjoying it quite a bit. I also like how many Party Down actors are in this. Its weird that the same guy created both these shows.
  18. Im waiting for a sale on the Vita version, or free on Plus. Im not a fan of playing mobile/handheld games on a big screen. Not just for graphics, but handheld games always "feel" like handheld games to me. For some reason, I cant get over that to enjoy it anywhere else.
  19. It's basically the same game, maybe a bit worse than City. Play either one, chances are you wont play them both one after the other. Thats like playing 2 Assassin's Creed games in a row, it's just not fun.
  20. Well, all of them really. Except Marshall. But I meant Robin. Maybe people dont notice it, but she dates a lot of people and breaks up with them, including Ted and Barney. I used to dislike Ted for what I felt like he was "messing" with girls. Getting in serious relationships, then having it crumble. Or in some cases the other way around. He seemed to always change his mind constantly. Robin does the exact same thing. She's just constantly leading people on and then changing her mind at the drop of a hat. Also, if you marathon it you'll realize that about half of the big problems/arguments in that show happen because of Lily. She just cant keep secrets. I thought that was funny.
  21. So I just watched the last few season of HIMYM and I kind of like the ending now. It could have been better, but it's still good and most of all, its obvious. Its painfully obvious how this was all going to go and who was going to end up with who. I suppose thats something that gets lost on people if they don't marathon the last couple of seasons like I did. Its still fresh in my memory. Also, Ted kind of redeems himself in season 9. I really disliked him for the decisions he's made in the past seasons, but season 9 really makes him a lot more likable by being a lot less selfish. Also, if you marathon these last few seasons you realize one of the other characters is just as fucked up as him. So it makes it not seem so bad. It kind of all fits in the end.
  22. God, I just remembered how terrible The Matrix: Revolutions was. That's probably the movie they put on repeat in hell.

The Second Renaissance(Animatrix) was the best thing to come to of the entire franchise. I hope they dont make anymore, cus thats the high point.

  23. Best Buy is showing June 20th as the release date and Gamestop is showing June 27th. I hope it's true. Though Friday is a weird date to release it. And June is the one year anniversary of TLoU. Makes sense.
