  1. I decided to watch a Duke Nukem Forever let's play a few days ago to see why people thought it was so terrible. It looks as dumb and mindless as any other fps people play. Why do people think it sucks so hard?

And Im not counting the sense of humor. Duke Nukem games have always been stupid as hell. This one is no different.

I haven't played DNF, but a lot of what makes a shooter good or bad is the feel of the gunplay, which would be hard to get from a video.

I think a big part of it was people wanting a classic shooter and instead getting a health-regen, 2 guns limit modernized mediocre FPS. Since the gameplay was bad, people were less receptive to the bad humor, I think.

  2. I think it's that way so the Superman symbol can fit inside of it for the logo. Hmm...
  3. Sorry, but I think it looks stupid.
  4. What's a good price if I were selling my Wii U? I think ive had it with this thing.

Looks like another is added to the list of "Scared Shitless" for Mario Kart 8. Can't really blame you, Mama Luigi is a cruel contender.

Hah! Joke's on you! I'd have settled for a hard roll with ketchup inside!

  5. It's kind of amazing. It's definitely Borderlands 2. It's native resolution and the textures are actually some of the best on the system. Aside from only having 4 enemies onscreen at once, it plays exactly the same. If someone hadnt told me, I wouldnt have noticed it. It doesn't "feel" different. Its closer to a downsized PS3 version than a portable Borderlands 2, if that makes any sense. As for the bad stuff? The slowdown stuff is exaggerated, but it is there. It's almost nonexistent though. After playing about 3 hours I only encountered it while fighting a boss(Flynt), which is understandable. There is slowdown while switching menus though. Quite a bit of it. The load times are longer than the PS3 version, but not by much. And the controls I think are fine. I think thats the defining factor. If youre comfortable with Vita and using all the features at once, you'll be fine. If not....well yeah. Youll probably bitch about it. Honestly since Ive been playing ive only been upset about one thing - cross save isnt supported yet. The option is there, but it doesnt work yet, not till the PS3 version gets patched. Which it hasnt. It should have been patched on release day. In short - coming from the PS3 version, it never EVER feels unplayable. It's a perfectly capable game. It's Borderlands 2 on a handheld.
  6. I just sold some stuff to GS last week.
  7. The allure of playing this on a portable while watching the Simpsons at 2am was too strong. I also had like $130 in PSN credit, so there's that.
  8. i dunno. just jealous that shield gets those games.
  9. Does anyone remember when Portal 2 was crossbuy with the Steam version and Gabe Newell showed up at the playstation conference and they were doing something with both PS3 and Steam? I really wish that partnership had gone somewhere. I bring this up now because Half Life 2 and Portal were just released on Shield. It would have been nice to have the Orange Box on Vita. I wonder whatever happened with all that. I wonder how important Steam is to console makers. I figure itd be a really good thing for MS, Sony or Nintendo to have Steam/Valve in their pockets.
  10. Yeah, I ran through all of Veronica Mars within a week including the movie. Great show overall and the movie was definitely just a longer episode, which isnt bad to me at all. Also, the 2 new Louie episodes rom last night are amazing. This show is just something else.
  11. Early XBO adopters sucking on that $100 premium wiener.

Wasn't Kinect Mattrick's baby? Makes sense they'd dump it ASAP once he left.

      Kudo Tsunonda wasn't it?

  12. It exists now. Before now I didn't even really acknowledge it as a thing.
  13. No more Kinect. Thank god. Im not an Xbox guy, but this is good news for everyone.
  14. Forum activity fluctuates. It's mostly dead on weekends, but busy during the weekdays, mostly during the day. Im guessing when people are at work. The speed also fluctuates. Sometimes itll be good, others itll be slow enough that it's not worth posting here. Or the website just doesnt work. Its good for the most part though.
  15. I wasn't a fan of Bastion, but this game looks really fucking cool. Im curious to see the reviews.
  16. Installing Windows 7 on a Macbook is a pain in the butthole. If I didnt have so much time on my hands Id say it wasnt even worth it.

And it has tabs dean, unlike Windows. Gosh Dean, so bias! (in reality, terminal doesn't matter much, apart from how surprisingly often you need to dive in).

  17. Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. It's blasphemy, but its my favorite SH game. Its also on PSN(PSP version), but it's 20 bucks. Im not going to do that. There's so many PSP games on there that have never gone on sale, its ridiculous. I think Parappa is still $25 and Tekken is still $40. Last I checked.
  18. If you can play the FFIV remake(DS, IOS, probably on Android too), skip FF3 and just go to that one. FF3 was fine when I played it before FF4 came out, but I wouldnt play it now. It has very little story, no real characters, and the battles are slow as hell. Not to mention that itll look like shit on a pc. All in all, its basically FF1 with the job class system. Just a barebones jrpg. Also funnily enough, FF1 and FF3 have no votes on here as the best FF game.
  19. So yesterday I installed the homebrew channel on my Wii U after god knows how many hours(Its easy enough to do, but there is a lot of room for failures). I just felt like playing some old Wii games, anyways I started at around 3PM and didnt finish til almost 10pm. So after hacking it, downloading programs and wii isos, it turns out my Wii nunchuk doesnt work. I bought it last year and had never used it til yesterday. Instead of getting angry, I just felt defeated. The bad part is that it doesnt need to necessarily be the nunchuk, it could be that the wii remote has a bad connection slot. I hope to god not, theyre fucking expensive. Hopefully its the nunchuk.
  20. I watched all 4 Alien movies for the first time last year and I'm pretty sure I blacked out during Resurrection cuz I don't remember it at all.
  21. I just took a glorious record breaking poop. It was almost a foot long. What's the longest poop you've ever taken?

The toilet in our master bedroom is amazing, I've only clogged it like twice, including toilet paper, in the 3 years we've lived here.

Probably somewhere between 3-4 feet long. I was either 10 or 11 and the family was traveling across the state. Stopped at a gas station where I dropped my load. I dropped it in an Out of Order toilet where it wrapped around the bowl almost three times!

  22. Thats not going to happen any time soon. Its not so much that theyre close to going out of business, its that the Wii U isnt selling at all and the 3DS is selling a lot less than it used to. Itll be a long time before they go 3rd party, if they ever do. With their history, I think its time they left the home console business. I know everyone has a different opinion, but I still think the Wii was a fad, thats why it was a success. Not because it was a great system. Sorry, Nintendo fans. And it looks like Nintendo is never going to get that big again. Lightning isnt striking twice. If you take out the Wii U, Nintendo has been 2nd or even 3rd place since the N64 days. Their last big success in the home console market was the SNES. That was a long time ago. Mario and Zelda isnt carrying them anymore, even on the 3DS. I personally love Mario and Ive owned a Wii and Wii U and loved those Mario games. But it was never my main system. Playstation has always been my main system, and others the 360. They just cant survive on their own, not anymore. Im not sure about the 3DS either. Not sure what would get people to buy more since it already also has Mario, Zelda, Mario Kart and Pokemon. The big sellers. Maybe people are just tired of Nintendo. I cant remember the last time they did anything surprising or shocking. Even the Wii U gamepad is just really a bigass DS. Its always used for a map or a menu. Everything they do is just Nintendo being Nintendo. I admit their games have consistent quality, but its getting to the point where people are becoming indifferent to it.
  23. People always come up with what they think will save a company and usually it'll be stuff that THEY would like. What I personally want is for them to release all their previous catalogues on the Virtual Console. NES, SNES, 64, Gamecube, etc. But thats not going to save them. And honestly, I have no idea what will. I think they've done everything they could.
