  1. Those were my thoughts as well. And the speech is actually from Rocky. He then seems to forget it and just go into full roid rage.
  2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XhRf2mYrZmg&feature=player_embedded I've probably laughed harder at this and the corresponding reddit thread than I have at anything in a loooong time. Only in America.
  3. It's also one more form of DRM.
  4. Red Orchestra 2 here I come. Honestly, I'd probably still be buying it if it was going to be on Steam. But because of all the issues with the alpha (gameplay and interface) I just can't see myself moving over to Origin for a game that I'm not 100% sure I'll even like. The more and more I hear about BF3 the more I think Dice is trying to do too much. Supposed thousands of unlocks? No thanks. Laser sights and flashlights existing only to blind people? Why? Thermal vision?
  5. But think of the millions of unlocks! I did the same, though. Prone has returned and it's janky as ever.
  6. Played some of the beta today in some pub servers. Got oneshotted from areas on the map I didn't even know existed a lot as well. I don't regret a preorder at all, though. The mechanics are rock solid and the guns all have a nice kick to them. This is just one of those games I'll need to get better at, but I think the presentation and mechanics are good enough so I won't have an issue with that. The voice acting is great so far, and it's actually really cinematic in parts. Also, the screenshots don't do the graphics justice. They're beautiful in a really dark, WWII shooter type of way.
  7. Just popping in to say that that is the most ass-backwards way of paying writers I've ever heard of. It's hard to expect them to write good, thought provoking articles when that's the type of payment system they've got going on there. It's a website, not a freaking car dealership.
  8. Watching the GB quicklook they apparently loved the analog control scheme, and I could definitely see how a "LMB melees" could break some of the immersion and difficulty. So, those that have it on PC, is there any sort of analog control, i.e. swinging the stick forward to melee? For me, that might actually be reason enough to buy on console. It could be a completely different game.
  9. Bought CIV5 and all DLCs in this weekend's deal, plus Hitman:Blood Money earlier in the week and got Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War II and Battlefield 2 (Probably gonna just play Project Reality) as gifts. Been a deadly week for steam deals.
  10. 12ish hours into Deus Ex and just got the Ghost achievement. Shows how I play that game, I guess.

  11. FLD, if you want the MW2 save send me a message on steam. You should be able to find me via the PXOD group.

  12. Every once and a while me and a friend go back and play the coop of Splinter Cell: Conviction just for the pure asskicking that's possible in that game. The game might be flawed to some diehard SC fans, but boy, it's fun if you know some of the sneaky little routes.
  13. I just realized this, but apparently Spotify has some code built in that pauses the ads if you mute the volume on your computer while they're playing. Same goes for if you try and make it unintelligible on the application slider it pauses them as well. That's really, really sneaky.
  14. Installing Ubuntu on a Virtual Machine just for online trig assignments that require Adobe Reader. Screw having that on the OS I use all the time.

I thought all Operating Systems had Adobe Reader!

They can. He just doesn't want to install it on Windows since it's a POS.

  15. I've got it off as well, but I'm just at a little community college. I was under the impression it was a National holiday.
  16. Oh man, I haven't watched that guy's videos since the Moonbase Alpha text to speech romp ones. I now feel the sudden urge to go do that in my game, though. I just took all my cardboard boxes downstairs and threw them at her.
  17. http://www.tomsguide.com/us/Anders-Behring-Breivik-Manifesto-Modern-Warfare-Call-of-Duty-WOW-Training-Simulator,news-11977.html Unfortunately, then there are guys like this guy who really don't help any of our arguments. He's an idiot, and he's obviously completely shitballs insane, but for some odd reason the average media outlets really aren't expected to know that Call of Duty is not a good "simulator". A game with guns is a game with guns to them, and all games with guns are a threat to your children.
  18. I'm on my second playthrough. I now realise that the remote mines are a pre-order incentive tossed in with the pirated version. (fingers crossed for Witcher 2 style updates where pre-order incentives get patched in) So I apologise to Hot heart on that aspect. Still even without those I found it a piece of piss with an assault rifle just firing on him as he comes down through the pillars and running away when he gets close. I am missing the pre-order silent sniper rifle. Didn't realise the normal one doesn't allow mufflers. (Why they're called mufflers and not silencers I dunno. IRL they're called mufflers/suppressors cos that's what they do. In-game/in-movie ones are silencers cos that's what they do. Deus Ex mufflers silence, not muffle) I think my biggest issue with it wasn't the difficulty, but just how it seemed to break the flow of the game. There I was sneaking around and hiding and then suddenly I have to just pump bullet after bullet into this guy while he calls me boy scout.
  19. Probably going to wait until some early reviews come out and see if any of my other friends get it. I'm more interested in the Borderlands-esque coop than the SP, plus I've just burnt some cash on Deus Ex: HR and Red Orchestra 2. Definitely going to keep an eye on the reviews, though, and probably look for a Giantbomb quicklook.
  20. I've started to hate "ala carte" textbooks this semester. They're the ones that don't come with any binding (usually just 3 hole punched), but cost just as much as a textbook that has binding, it seems. So now I'm carrying around 4 monstrosities of binders instead of textbooks, which just feels silly.
  21. Just hit the first boss. Raaaage.
  22. Out of curiosity, how much did that cost you? Because damn, that is a beast of a PC.
  23. Mine says 10 hours. Curse you, 130KB/s internet.
