  1. Braid. Some of those puzzles get really difficult towards the end. Great game though.
  2. Maybe its because i'm careful with the films i see, but i always stick with a film till the end. Again though, i make sure i only watch the stuff that interests me. I'd probably feel a slight sense of guilt if i did turn a film off after 10 minutes.
  3. Every time i try to get into Terraria I die and lose the will to play the damn thing.

That's how I feel about a lot of games... Disgaea and Dwarf Fortress come to mind

  4. I've had Brazil on my DVR for going on 3 months now. Whenever i go to watch it i get distracted and end up watching something else. As for In Bruges. It's one of my favourite comedy's of all time. I much prefer it to The Guard.
  5. I wouldn't look past the Lumia line if you're looking at a Windows Phone device. The Lumia 900 is supposedly very nice and in my opinion, is one of the best looking phones i've ever seen. Same goes with the Lumia 800 (i had that). Very nice hardware, and the software isn't half bad. It's just lacking in a few key area's for me. I'm not 100% sure on this, but i don't believe Windows Phone 8 will be a direct update from Windows Phone 7. Meaning, if you were to buy a WP7 device, you'd be unable to update to the new OS. If that's gonna be a problem then maybe hold out for a while. As for the software. I enjoyed using it for the most part. The main issue for me was a serious lack of apps. Aside from Carbon (twitter client) there isn't anything i miss. Most of the Metro styled apps look great, but its a case of having to really look hard for something.
  6. Snatch - Finally. Its only taken 12 years. Very enjoyable 'Gangster' film. I wasn't expecting it to be as funny as it was. I need to track down Lock, Stock now.
  7. Because your invested in those characters. They don't give anything to the story aside from the odd moment here and there. I like seeing them on film, but I feel like they were wasted.
  8. I can't understand Three. Two would have been a bit of a stretch in as much as i don't think its really two films based on 'The Hobbit' anymore, but i could see how they'd construct a story based on other Middle Earth works, but Three. I just can't see it myself.
  9. I'm already invested in Fox and Gordon, but at the same time i think we could have lost both of those without it really effecting the plot.
  10. What do we all think about the number of characters involved? I honestly feel we could have lost 2-3 and had a much tighter film that allowed us to explore the remaining characters a little more. Thoughts?
  11. The Dark Knight Rises soundtrack is fantastic. Anyone else given it a listen?

  12. Apparently there are already some Bk 6 chapters in the wild. Can anyone confirm?
  13. I know its a comic book movie, but i don't think we can let it all slide. There's a couple of very convenient moments in this film. Nolan seems very willing to have his characters in 2 places at once. One character is in a scene with one character and somehow manages to get across the City to take part in another scene in a matter of seconds. I can forgive a fair amount, but sometimes you have to question the writing. How would everyone rank the Nolan Trilogy? I'm going Begins>Dark Knight> Rises. I don't think Begins is a better film than The Dark Knight, but i get more enjoyment out of it. I love the first half of that film. As for the Dark Knight itself. Its just brilliant. Rises? Its good, just not great. I think the /filmcast summed it up best. The Dark Knight Rises is The Return of the Jedi to the original Star Wars movies. Still a very very enjoyable film though.
  14. I don't think anyone cares about Olympic Soccer to begin with, and that's including the Male game. Certainly not British fans. Although i may be proved wrong if GB goes far. On that note, Saku Koivu of the Ducks was one of the Torch-bearers a few days back. No one knew who he was, but i thought it was a nice little moment for him.
  15. Rdio or Spotify? Not a massive music guy, but I'm I'm all for a music subscription. Which would you recommend?

Rdio looks better, is organized better (no duplicates), and for what I listen to has a much better selection.

    2. Eleven

      Eleven

Rdio also has the better iPhone app, and does not require facebook logins although you can connect it to your facebook.

Gone With Rdio. Been waiting for it since I heard about it over a year ago now, and it seems to have everything I want.

  16. We had a young couple who found the US national anthem to be hilarious. Admittedly for none US audiences, it came across a bit too strong, but even then you should be able to appreciate the scene for just how tense it was. Shits about to go crazy. Hilarious.
  17. Caught this for the second time yesterday and I had a much more enjoyable experience. The audience was silent, which allowed me to go the length of the film without thinking of asking for a refund (which in turn allowed me to focus on the film). As a result I found the film to be much more entertaining. It's still got its issues (I still think its about 20 minutes too long) but the storyline came together better than I originally thought. That being said, even the lovely Marian Cotillard couldn't make this anything but my least favourite film in the series.
  18. What does everyone think to the news that Ramsey Bolton will be played by Iwan Rheon? If you don't know, he played Simon in Misfits. I'm not sure on the casting myself, but I was impressed with the actor in his time on Misfits.
  19. LIMBO might be my favourite pick up of the Steam Sale so far.

I'm surprised there's still people who don't own Limbo.

I disliked the demo, so I don't own Limbo.

^Lol. I meant out of those interested. It seems like it's been on sale dozens of times and in bundles left and right.

  20. At £1.74 i feel almost dirty for buying it.
  21. Being turned away at The Dark Knight Rises preview because of a sub clause in the small print was very very annoying.

A friend who gets a load of advanced screening tickets let me use the one for my cinema. Must have given 10-15 out around the UK, and i was the only one who wasn't allowed in. Perfectly legit, but because it wasn't in my name they asked me to wait 2 hours to see if there was any empty seats/

  22. Was Killing Joke referenced on the Midlife Gamer Podcast at any point recently? I know they're doing a Comic Club, but i missed the name of the comic they were starting up with. I know its got something to do with Joker and his Origin's story. Its not a Superhero comic, but i can't recommend Chew enough. If you're savvy enough about it, you might be able to find it for issue one free on one of the online stores.
  23. Thats pretty awesome. Will he be selling those? I'd definitely be interested in getting it on a canvas. So here was my The Dark Knight Rises Advanced Preview story. Turned up with my entry voucher in hand (not in my name, but i had a letter of authorisation from the person who'm won the voucher). She is always giving out tickets to advanced previews so there shouldn't have been a problem... There was. Long story short. They wouldn't let me in to see the film (unless there was a spare seat). It was a 2 hour wait to see if maybe they could let me in, so i decided to cut my losses and get the bus back. All in all i was in the lobby for 15 minutes, and on the bus to and from said lobby for 80 minutes. Disappointed is not the word. Still, i'm seeing it on Tuesday morning and this Saturday afternoon.
  24. I really love Children of Men. Fantastic movie that too few people have seen. And we've just left The Amazing Spiderman. I'll give it 3/5. I Some very nice action scenes, and Garfield and Stone are really enjoyable but i wasn't feeling it from Ifans as the 'baddy' and it took an awful long time to get going. I'll definitely be up for a 2nd film though.
