  1. That said, it looks interesting enough to merit a try. I am nothing if not lenient like that.
  2. I always find it interesting that a lot of people place most of the burden of the Wii U, and by proxy, Nintendo's failure on Iwata. It seems reasonable to assume that it's mostly the old guard amongst the executives that are to blame. I think Iwata's got what it takes to turn the situation around in the long haul, but he'll never do it if he's going to be too busy trying fighting off the suits around him.
  3. It really is. I wish DC1 had gotten a fancy ass remake like RE1 did.
  4. It pretty much plays like a classic Resident Evil game (with all the flaws that entails) with dinosaurs instead of zombies. I consider it to be damn good personally.
  5. Felt the urge to spend some money today so I did.
  6. It was just incredibly cringe inducing to watch someone else play Super Metroid. Arin was just way worse about it since he was just wandering around, ignoring doors or attempting to sequence break when he wasn't very good at it (amplified by the fact that he didn't seem to know he could aim diagonally until the last couple episodes). Pretty much a constant stream of things being done repeatedly.
  7. I just got around to watching the Super Metroid playthrough. Mother. Of. God.
  8. Think of it as the Sacred Realm from Zelda. It was a magical place once, but now it has been twisted and corrupted into the Dark World.
  9. Since Revan suggested it, here it is! Post replies you've gotten from old ass Kotaku articles. Unfortunately, I've only gotten one instance of this. The rest are just recommendations. Someone doesn't think Rachel and I are funny.
  10. Personally, every time I see a sentence where a criminal will die or will have died by old age before the sentence is up, I wonder what the hell the point of that is. Sure, there is no such thing as 100% certainty when it comes to passing judgment, but omelette eggs etc etc. Doesn't bother me too much. I would consider my sense of justice to be very...the word people have used is 'Knights Templar-y'. I'll be at peace with that even after the Assassins show up to kill me for trying to eliminate the flaw of free will.
  11. I agree with that wholeheartedly. The problem with them by and large is that they are incredibly bad about picking their battles and EVERYTHING is perceived as a slight or insult.
  12. The Microsoft Store is running a reasonably decent sale (relative, I guess!) right now. $7 for Tekken Tag 2 is pretty good, I'd say.
  13. Lost my copy of this a few years ago, so I picked it up again. Also grabbed one of the 3DS game card cases off Club Nintendo. Downside is that I'll have to immediately return the one I ordered off Amazon last week (they were out of stock at the time and JUST got them back in today, naturally).
  14. I made Cooking Comically's Trust Fall Chicken the other day and...unfortunately, I didn't care much for it (probably because soy sauce). Might try making Dem Wedges.
  15. I can confirm that it does apply.
  16. I'm not a big fan of Google+ either (I find it really cumbersome as far as interfaces go, personally). I pretty much went through every motion I could.
  17. I've tried both of these and he still refuses on the grounds of 'it's not the same'. Short of moving back within acceptable driving distance, it's never gonna be the same and he's just gotta accept alternatives.
  18. I'm late to the discussion of terminology for black folks! I'm actually half-Jamaican, but for all intents and purposes, I might as well be black. Doesn't particularly bother me if someone says 'blacks' or 'African-Americans' (aside from being a blanket statement). I find it kind of silly, but it is what it is. I'm immensely bothered by my best friend's resistance toward the internet. He is one of those guys who can't seem to stand to talk on the phone for longer than twenty minutes. Or talk via messaging program or even be bothered to maintain a Facebook page. Everything HAS to be face to face. Video games, conversations, D&D. But here's the thing, our circle of friends have scattered to the winds (one lives about thirty minutes away from him, the rest of us live two and a half to sixteen hours away from him). Meeting up in person isn't really via for most of us now, yet it is still damn near impossible to get him to interact in any capacity short of physical. All the more annoying when he complains about how we don't play D&D or video games anymore. Much as I'd love to drive two and a half hours to St. Paul to hang out with him for a couple days, it's not terribly viable when I work through all of the week.
  19. Finished up The Saboteur yesterday morning. I was gunning for getting it done before New Years, but having to play designated driver for a few hours put a damper on that.
  20. Sifting through all my games I beat this year... 1. Sleeping Dogs 2. The Amazing Spider-Man 3. Aliens: Colonial Marines 4. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance 5. Tomb Raider 6. Bioshock Infinite 7. Dead Island Riptide 8. Fuse 9. Dead Space 3 10: Beautiful Katamari 11. Dynasty Warriors 7 12. Batman: Arkham Origins 13. Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag 14. Fire Emblem: Awakening 15. Shinobi 3DS 16. Project X Zone 17. Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy 18. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow: Mirror of Fate 19. Binary Domain 20. Double Dragon Neon 21. Tales of Xillia Definitely less than I beat in 2012, but ah well. Gonna get started on working through my damn backlog finally.
  21. It let me re-install Deadpool after I deleted the local files. I'm guessing all the shenanigans with Marvel games is all licensing issues. It'd explain why Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3's DLC and Marvel vs. Capcom: Origins were delisted too.
  22. Aw man. RIP James Avery.

      Faiblesse Des Sens

Meh. He had a good run.

  23. I'm going to second Ethan on Assassin's Creed 4, though I haven't played the Adewale DLC yet, so I can't comment on that. My nomination is Fire Emblem: Awakening because it's a definite step in the right direction for the franchise. Revising the Avatar unit from Heroes of Light and Shadow so they've got more going for them than being relatively bland was a great move, as was the option of being able to freely reclass or grind if you wanted to. It'd be nice if they had party members matter more than beyond the initial chapter you get them in though.
