  1. I'd say it's solid 7 too. Even after the game froze up on me three times in a half an hour, seemingly at random: once while grappling up to an AR Glide challenge, next during the cutscene with Thug Santa and finally right in the middle of the Deathstroke fight (in the middle of a counter too, so it was like a sweet splash panel full of implied action!)
  2. Got save files for the 360 version from when I borrowed it from my best friend.
  3. Pacific Rim? Outstanding movie.

  4. I'm still questioning why I bought FFXIII, but I did.
  5. Figured I might as well upgrade my PS3's hard drive (as I have one of the old 80GB ones).
  6. Oh no, Vecha! Don't do that! Singularity!
  7. Yeah, it seemed like Jonathan pulled a lot of bullshit out of his ass, but I guess I can forgive it since it was the very first arc.
  8. I finally got around to watching JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (having only the basic knowledge of everything outside of Stardust Crusaders). My god, it's so good. Such fabulous! Much sparkles. dio brando
  9. The sword waggle is what killed it for me too. I still beat it, but it felt more like finishing a chore than beating a game.
  10. Grabbed Fallen Enchantress because Stardock sale and Halo 4 while it was $10 on Amazon the other day.
  11. Grabbed SSF4 so I can just do the upgrade to USF4 easy peasy.
  12. Seven days!

No Sadako, NO! Go back to your well.

  13. I usually wait for a price drop (maybe two) and at least ten games before I'll bite on a new console. Hasn't failed me yet.
  14. Good on you, FLD. RE6 has its issues, but I found the gameplay itself to be plenty solid (and also better than the sluggishness of Revelations).
  15. I personally really enjoyed the 2009 Bionic Commando, haters (would is damn near everyone) be damned. Swinging and combat was fun as hell, even if there was pretty much no music to speak of and it wasn't an open world game (which is fine by me).
  16. So my best friend was supposed to come visit this weekend and I just found out today from his fiancee that he won't be able to make it. :(

      So glad Revan asked that.

Well, can't be too sure. My next assumption was that the fiancé was behind this, as she was telling him what he can and can't do. Some people are terribly controlling.

Fortunately, me and his lady friend are good friends ourselves (in fact, she is the only significant other he's had that I like). She wanted to hit up the sushi bar that just opened here, but since they just moved into a new apartment, they can't afford the trip.

  17. Edit: Also grabbed a copy of Amazing Spider-Man as a birthday gift to a friend.
  18. Oh! Oh no, not at all. If that's how it came across, it was definitely not my intention.
  19. For movies, the resistance would all be experienced vicariously through the cast (if you chose to view it that way). That's a whole different ball game though.

I think I know about two level-headed and rational transgender people. The rest I've encountered tend to be the sorts of folks who use 'check your privilege' as a first line of defense on any sort of criticism and you have to walk on eggshells around them JUST in case. And when I say walk on eggshells, I mean that ANYTHING you say could provoke some kind of argument. Though I find a little amusement in someone telling me, a half-Jamaican, to check my privilege.
  21. If finding little to no merit in things like Dear Esther, Gone Home or Proteus makes me an archaic thinker, I'll have to find some way to come to terms with it, but it's gonna be tough going. ...Waaaaaaait.
  22. I had this conversation with a buddy of mine the other day when I posited that there must be some level of challenge (or competition) and goal to a game for it to actually be qualified as such. Maybe it's because I grew up in the NES era long before the games as art or the big casual game boom. I don't buy into "games have to be challenging to be games" argument. You can have an easy game still be a game. There just has to be some aspect of competition, even if it's not difficult competition. My notion was that without some kind of resistance (even token at best), there really isn't much point to playing anything. Even Solitaire has the timer and the possibly of putting yourself in a corner.

  24. I find people who complain about every single thing PA does to be toxic. They're human. They make mistakes. They're open and honest about them. That about sums it up for me. Though I couldn't really disagree with Gabe's notion that I would not exactly be very receptive of someone who tries to use the word 'cis' now (as I feel that much like the word 'feminism', it's been corrupted by the social justice crowd).
  25. Second party is a colloquial term, sure, but I don't think that would really make it illegitimate.
