  1. You can see thoughts on Priest in the 'Last Crap Movie You Saw' thread.
  2. Yeah, I thought Scott Pilgrim would be something a bit disappointing but I wound up really enjoying it. Very funny film and it has some pretty cool action. Fuck that noise about 'fan service'.
  3. Ooh, me me me! Make sure you download one of the free DLC pack things. They might call it a 'trial' or whatever but it already gives you rocket boots for when you max out agility and that's clearly the best thing ever. Yeah, I got Green Day Rock Band for cheap in that sale. Not sure when I'll have it because they're 'Awaiting Stock', but I'm not in a hurry.
  4. Let me put it this way; if your boss isn't chewing the loving shit out of you, you probably did it right. No, there's at least one case where no matter which guy you charge your boss is happy as long as you've got evidence to back it up. If hottie's thinking of the same case as me, I was only about 60% sure I charged the right guy. That's the thing. He moaned at me about not being 'swift' and I thought it was more to do with me not charging who he (and Rusty) wanted charged. It's just the evidence could go either way...but one seemed more likely for it. And the game doesn't let you fact check even further after those interviews (not as in revisiting old scenes but following any new leads)
  5. Gah! Now I'm not sure if I charged the right person and it's eating at me!
  6. Yeah, the system can be a bit vague and the dialogue may surprise you as to what it is actually addressing but for the last case I just trusted my instincts and effectively got 100% (not even using intuition points). As I said in the other thread, it did seem a little too easy though... If someone looks shady but I don't have the exact evidence I might opt for Doubt. People not looking directly at you, blinking more frequently, mouth...gestures (pouting, jutting out jaw) seem to be obvious ticks (at least for now) and easy to pick up on. If I'm really unsure I might use an intuition point...although I thought those things reset for each case and levelling up was increasing your cap
  7. The opening of the game is great. The space station and the streets (which are actually two levels) make for a great opening. The fight across the second Halo was cool and I liked some of the stuff involving the Arbiter. Going after the heretic leader and flying Banshees (there and in the last level) was pretty fun. I guess they're all pretty memorable for me because I played them in co-op on Legendary (where any death means going back to a checkpoint) but I felt the moment-to-moment gameplay (that Bungie seem to think is their hallmark) was actually stronger than the first, even if only slightly. 2 was lacking in some of the open environments that CE did so well though.

I thought it was interesting, but there's also the concept of a sociopath, which I think is slightly different to psychopathy. Not entirely sure.

The bit at the end was pretty 'WTF?' I mean, it's already a sort of 'advert' anyway.

      SomTervo

      True.

It seems the two terms mean basically the same thing- but psychopath can denote aggression and violence, whereas sociopath is a lack of empathy and remorse mostly (the same, but without the aggression). Apparently they are both Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD).

I've got 16 points out of 20. Do I win something?

  8. I think it was more the SMG that just felt terrible. I loved everytime I got hold of the Battle Rifle or Carbon Rifle. Loved some of the levels too, some real greats in there. Can't say I was ever confused by the story but CE was certainly more 'concise' whereas 3 was garbled nonsense.
  9. Take it away. TAKE IT AWAY! Thanks, but yours sounded way more interesting. I guess from being so close to mine it just felt like an obviously hamfisted collection of adjectives, then married to 'stolen' imagery.
  10. I'd probably say I prefer Halo 2 as well, and I love the first game. You can see my thoughts here: http://pressxordie.com/2010/09/13/greatest-halo-moments/ ...but there are better ways of voicing your opinion, Chewie.
  11. Funny thing happened with that actually, I figured the badges were near landmarks (after I stumbled upon one in Union Station) and had wandered around Chinatown to no avail only to stop my car next to a street I hadn't bothered to check because it seemed 'uninteresting'...decided to open up and look at the negatives just in case and saw one with paper lamps hanging down above an alley exactly like the one I was next to. Got out the car and found the badge, no problem. Oh, and I just five-starred my first homicide case, finding all the clues at the same time (always missed one before). Although it all seemed a little too easy...
  12. Don't think I've ever seen anything Anne Hathaway has been in, but I've heard she's good. Thing is, same could've been said about Heath Ledger. I was doubtful of him, and how was he going to better Jack Nicholson? 'I would've rather had Nolan explore a different villain not already done to death.' And look what happened there. Ledger totally stole the show. Nolan could probably cast Miley Cyrus and people would still be optimistic.
  13. Yeah, I don't care about minor graphical differences (I don't think GTA IV and RDR were very different anyway) and I'm not bothered about the three discs thing (compared to an install as well) and I prefer the 360 controller. Besides the exclusive case, which will probably be DLC later on anyway, I don't think I'm missing anything.
  14. Exactly. KOTOR was just the seminal BioWare RPG for me.
  15. Haha. You just reminded me I had a poem published (just some local collection thing) when I was 10 or 11, I think. Was either year 5 or 6 in primary school. Man, it was the biggest load of crap ever, I was surprised it ever got praised. We were set a task to write a poem about the sea and so in class there was 'brainstorming', which just involved words that you could use to describe the ocean. My poem just used as many of those words as possible married to the imagery of a playful cat (the 'cat as the sea' thing I'd glimpsed in some book somewhere). It also had two parts to make use of the calm and violent sea ideas. Let's see what I can remember... The Sea Cat wakes in the navy sea Tumbling, sending violent tides ashore Roaming further and further, it pounces Sending waves spinning as it moves Towering over the sea it...moans(?) Crashing down, it rests That's not all of it and I think I may have some of the lines out of order. The second part was to do with it being playful with children on the beach but no idea how that went. And I swear there was some atrocious line like 'It shows a gloomy face as it gnaws on rocks' (WTF?!). So terrible.
  16. Green Day: Rock Band It was only £8 and there were more than 8 tracks I would've purchased if they were DLC.
  17. I forgot to mention, I've probably played quite a bit of GTA IV too. That and Rock Band are games where I've spent a lot of time in the single-player.
  18. I don't recall the second game having it, but the first one's grain and motion blur was supposed to be some sort of nod to old sci-fi films. I turned off that shit faster than I did the filter in Vice City.
  19. Yay. I picked a game that was in the top ten...at number one. That's a bit of an overstatement, I think.
  20. I think I would because I've been playing without any hints and getting four stars on every case. Always room for improvement. Only annoying thing, as Ethan pointed out, would be the unskippable cutscenes.
  21. Yeah, that sounds like a good idea from Flerbil
  22. Put this in TAY on Kotaku to get some feedback about the design and hopefully some more hits...only one person responded but they had some constructive stuff to say at least.
  23. I reckon it's either Halo 3 or Rock Band at number one. And Halo: Reach would follow closely behind.
