    Few things have made me feel as old as Pokemon GO does. I mean, I was too old to get into Pokemon when it was first released 20 years ago. Seeing people getting into GO based on nostalgia makes me feel a million years old.

    Time to JRPG it up on PC. Going to alternate between FFXIII-2 and Trails in the Sky, with breaks to finish up DOOM and to play miscellaneous other small games. When I finish with the JRPGs, I'll move onto their sequels. Then I'll loop around and play Disgaea and the Last Remnant. Wish me luck.

      I'm having issues with FFXIII:LR in the "not fully understanding the systems" thing, hence using Elevens suggestion of CheatEngine.

      Thing is, I feel confident that if I DID understand how the game ticks it would be really rewarding. XIII-2 is on my backlog that I mean to take another crack at someday.

      Got the platinum trophy for each game on PS3. Lightning Returns probably had the trickiest combat system, especially for late game and optional content. The Majora's Mask aspect of LR probably made it my fav of the 3. Followed by 2 and the original.

    GRRM has said no, the Targaryens are not immune to fire in general. Many have died by fire, some while trying to get dragon eggs to hatch. Dany's invulnerability when she burned Khal Drogo was a one-time magic event in the books, at least. And even if Dany is immune to fire in the show, that's not necessarily true for Jon. I mean, Viserys did not seem immune to heat at all. Also, Jon burnt himself when he attacked the wight back in season 1, I believe. In the books, the burn pains him for a long time.

    The Ironborn do sometimes stay drowned. They're not considered worthy if they die. I was under the impression GRRM and they show don't show this as magic, just pure luck. I *think* in the books the Salt Priests perform medieval CPR on folks who drown themselves for the Drowned God, but I could be wrong. But, yeah, Arya's face-shifting just does not bother me much. I wish I knew the mechanics of it, but it's not that important to me. If anything, I think it means that Ja'qen was full of shit when he told Arya that trying to use the faces would hurt her. She already survived poisoning that would kill other folks. Maybe the Many Faced God really digs Arya and lets her do what she wants, including stealing faces from the House of Black and White to use on her murder spree across Westeros.

    I think the Mereen storyline over the past few episodes has spanned at least six months. Plus, there were Tyrell and Martell ships in the fleet for that final shot; Varys likely came with them.

    We call that stuff super glue, too. Most of the terms you mentioned are just brand names standing in for the generic name. Like "Kleenex" for facial tissues or "Xerox" for a copy machine.

    Dragonfall is significantly better, especially the companions (very mass effect-y how they work). I'd play that next. Make your main a different class, too, since the character system is so robust.

      Your definitions are pretty arbitrary, dude...

       

      Although my definition for JRPG is close to yours, I suppose. I find that mechanics are the most meaningful way to classify them. So, Dark Souls is from Japan but I consider it more of a WRPG. Costume Quest is American but I consider it a JRPG. Basically, it's not where it was made, it's where that type of RPG was popularized.

    I am amused that digital pawnshops act very much like physical pawnshops. So shady. Is there a duty in the EU for resellers to take reasonable steps to make sure they're not actually fencing stolen goods? Edit: EU and/or UK, although from what I hear, every last local law and ordinance in the UK is dictated from on high in Brussels.

    I guess I see most of the movies I want to see that would be in Redbox in the theaters thanks to MoviePass and my wife and my love of going to the mvoies on the weekends. When I watch movies at home, it's usually not pre-planned, so I don't want to be hassled going out to a Redbox location and back and then having to return the next day. I don't have time for that nonsense in my already-packed day.
