Why would anyone think that the Ratchet & Clank movie would be any good? I've not played the games, but the movie looked like a kinda dumb kids' movie. I mean, that's the problem with any video game movie; often what makes for a compelling game is the gameplay, so taking that away results in a hollow shell. It's part of why I think AssCreed will be a dumb movie. The fiction has been fun (although the Animus stuff has been pretty minimal in the most recent games), but the stories are only good for video games, not when compared with other scripted media.
-
I just wonder if it will be better or worse than the WoW movie. I don't expect this to be very good at all. I also would not be surprised if it's bumped to a January or February release.

That makes sense. Ranged Or support units stacking with melee is good.

If 75% of what's in the fully-expanded Civ V game is in the base Civ VI game, plus a good number of good changes, I will be a happy camper. I liked the no-stacking rules of Civ V. I wonder how Civ VI will prevent stacks of doom.

I'm playing through Stellaris, the kinda 4X/grand strategy space empire sim from Paradox. It's pretty interesting and Paradox-y, though a million times more accessible than their other games. I'm really liking it.

SPOILER ALERT: What happens to War Machine is that he gets screen time in Civil War.

That's my impression. So if the NX is cartridge-based, it Nintendo can skimp on the built-in HDD and make the thing cheaper to manufacture. I wonder how Nintendo will deal with patches and DLC; will the cartridges have space for that sort of thing?
-
I think it may also make the NX cheaper to manufacture; no blu-ray licensing fees and no complicated disc reader, just a relatively simple cartridge slot with no moving parts. I suspect the increased cost of cartridges versus discs as media will be passed onto the consumer, though, via higher game prices. I also think it will also make for fewer installed games and maybe small in-console HDDs; the bottleneck in pushing graphics to the screen in a disc-only system is the slow disc read speed, which has led to more installed games this generation (or so I've been told; it seemed true for the last gen, too). No disc reader and cheap silly-small HDDs (I'm thinking 32GB or less) will lower the cost of the NX to produce so Ninty can make money on just selling it rather than on the backend through game and peripheral sales (though they will also sell peripherals).

Good riddance. Now it's up to the dems to tear Trump apart.

I think the argument in support of prediction markets ("gambling sites" is a disfavored term among the folks writing about these issues), is that folks who put their money where their mouth is generally do so using information that is not accessible to pollsters, just like in other exchange-based markets (e.g., the stock market). Sure, some people are losers, but the common, cautious wisdom bears out. A close look at the history of markets, however, bears out that bubbles are possible when there's mass delusion. I do not think that's the case with Hillary and Trump, however. There are tons of Republicans in swing states who will vote for Hillary or stay home instead of voting for Trump or, notably, donating money to the RNC and Trump. Trump has a very solid foundation among angry white males making less than $50k and their spouses, but that's it. There are millions of those sorts of voters in the U.S., and they are overrepresented in GOP primaries. But they are a minority.

I use generic Microsoft mice, one wireless and one USB, and have no problems with them unless the battery on the wireless mouse is dying.

I'd give Hillary 2:1 odds to beat Trump. The demographics alone make it difficult to Trump; if Hillary wins all the states that have gone Democratic in the past six elections plus the states that went blue four or more times (or just Florida, or just Ohio and VA) in those same elections, she'll be the President specter of massive Republican defection to a third party or even Hillary in swing states. Trump has to persuade big electoral vota states to flip red and I don't see that happening. The vast majority of well-educated people will never vote for him, and neither will minorities or women. There is talk that, in the event of a third party challenger to Trump's right, even TX could go blue.

A multi-platform game.
-
Nice. Better play the DLC for the first one to get caught up on the lore.
-
Eldar Orks and Space Marines only, huh? I would hope for Chaos and Dark Eldar, too, at launch. Or at least the Tyranids, for variety. I understand a lot of the races in the DOW1 expansions are controversial among fans, so I wouldn't expect them in the base game. (Right? Don't folks hate the necrons and tau?)

Good ep! -
True, Cowboy; the Wii U is worse than the N64.
-
You guys need to do your moral duty and just not buy any more Nintendo stuff. Let Ninty die with what little dignity it has left. Also, it's hilarious that Cowboy thinks the N64 had a decent library. It had a dozen or so good games, that's it.

I hate it when I'm watching a video of a TV show online on a TV channel's website and having to watch the same unskippable commercial multiple times in a row for every commercial break.

It's a German name, so of course it's a hard 'g'.

Will Sony continue to manufacture and sell old PS4s? What will be the price to buy your way out of the PS4 ghetto and into the (slightly better, but still ghetto compared to PC) PS Neo?

It's definitely worth $15 for a whole season of GoT. Plus you get the wonderful John Oliver show and a bunch of of stuff available through on-demand. A mod should add a poll to this thread: Is Jon Snow Dead? Yes __ No___ Yes, but he's resurrected ___ Yes, but he's resurrected as Jon Stark ____ Yes, but he's resurrected as Jon Targaryen ___ -
Yeah. Make sure you update all drivers, including CPU drivers. My 970 and old i5 CPU work fine on W10, so it's not a general problem with those components, unless the manufacturer of your 970 fucked something up.
