  1. It was cheap on Green Man Gaming. That's a reason, I suppose. I support your purchase decision, Baconrath.
  2. That's why I said "most likely"; there will be exceptions. When the developer is second-party, but the publisher is first party, the game will likely remain on the publisher's platform (Bayonetta 2, Wonderful 101). Do you have counterexamples? Am I missing something?
  3. Fuck you, Bioware, for tacking on another unnecessary MP mode to Dragon Age Inquisition. The money spent on the mode would have been better spent elsewhere.

Well, the game's not out yet. They can still surprise us.

I am mentally prepared for Bioware to do something as awful as, say, announce that Dragon Age Inquisition will come exclusively to Facebook.

      Needs more Felicia Day dlc.

  5. Fuck it, I'll pay $25 for the Pillars of eternity beta because I can do what I want!

Oh...so you get the 110 package. Nice! Was there anything extra in the 110 besides beta? I got the basic 35 deal. I had already spent a bit to get the wasteland boxed copy...so..yeah :(

No, I got a lower tier plus the $25 add on.

      Damn...I thought they'd upgrade you....

  6. Makes sense. Butts are the most adult content around.
  7. The flavor posts on the civ leaders on the official website really, really remind me of Alpha Centauri. They're different people and factions, but I am really digging how the culture of each civ is developed and how it may play into the three different upgrade paths/affinities for living on an exoplanet. This is not just a good thing, it is the best possible thing.
  8. This is a tempest in a teacup. Some guy just wants to shame Zoe Quinn regardless of the truth of his allegations. I suspect that the allegations are not the whole truth, likely include any number of confabulations and outright lies, and that the whole thing is a goddamned mess that should remain private in any case. It's sort of disgusting that we have a dedicated thread to this non-controversy.
  9. Rogue Legacy just takes tenacity. Once you've leveled up a bunch, it's easier. The bosses are easier than the trickier rooms, I've found, though I've only defeated three bosses so far.
  10. Oh, I keep up with my kickstarter backed games pretty assiduously. Well, except for Massive Chalice. Happy to have backed it at a high tier, but just not that interested in the development. But I have google alerts for Pillars of Eternity, Wasteland 2, and Torment: Tides of Numenera.
  11. The newest consoles are all still half-baked and the best games are coming to PC anyway.
  12. Yeah, it does feel weird to pay for a game before it's even developed much and receive the finished product years later.
  13. Might be archived and not searchable? I did a bunch of searches and no thread turned up.
  14. I can't believe this doesn't have a topic already. If it does, feel free to merge this with the previous thread. I am very excited for this game. It looks like it will be a worthy successor to the Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale games. Here's a demo from Gamescom featuring gameplay from the backer beta version of the game.
  15. Word on the street is that there will be more recruitable characters with the major August patch. I'm kinda putting the game on hiatus until then, because I'm tired of the two current NPC companions.
  16. I'll join just as soon as the PC version is up.
  17. Really? So you missed the announcement that it's a hybrid puzzle fighter and grand strategy game?
  18. Everyone see this newish trailer from Gamescom? http://youtu.be/Jfzx4Y8EzpM
  19. And you are so, so early yet. It's rough out there in Lordran.
  20. IIRC, Sony ends up getting between 2 and 3 bucks for each Xbone console sold, so I imagine it gets significantly less for each Blu Ray disc sold.
  21. A lot of law is already frighteningly automated. A lot of the stuff can't be automated under current court rules and precedents, as human judgment or a witness is required. A lot of law is gruntwork correspondence that requires a human, or several humans, to make judgment calls for which they are legally responsible.
  22. TCP: Yes, Americans who pronounce 'roof' so it almost sounds like 'rough' are wrong and likely hicks from the sticks. It should have a long 'ooooooooooo' sound in it. Non-sugar sweeteners are fine for the vast majority of people. Don't be an alarmist, Gerbil.
  23. TC predicted the death of the PS4? That guy's a laff riot.
  24. You know who's a knob? Ben Kuchera, that's who.

Oh, that article. Yeah, I didn't bother reading that.

That ownership stat is just plain made up. probably closer to 10% of PS4 owners also own Xbones. If 50% of PS4 owners owned Xbones, then almost every Xbone owner would also own a PS4. The profit margin gain would have to be HUGE to justify a third party exclusive on the Xbone.

I'm pretty sure that every Xbox owner also owns two PS4s, so really, they've got the same install base so SqEnix are actually working with the exact same market and have basically made a game for free and will get loads of money because reasons. Obviously.

  25. They lie to the scientists they interview and edit the footage to make it look like the scientists are taking part in baloney studies about ghost sharks, or resurgent megalodons, or other nonsense.
