  1. On the other hand, it's been clear for a while that unless a game is developed by a first party studio, any exclusivity will most likely be timed.
  2. Is Sony paying you, TCP? I think everyone here prefers Sony/PS4 to MS/Xbone. Except maybe Ethan and Wally, because they're perverse.
  3. Google DEFINITELY changes its results based on location, even for searches on desktop computers. I even enabled it to do so as part of my google profile.
  4. FFX beat me, way back in the day. It felt like a series of corridors to me and nothing much sticks in my mind about it other than bland mediocrity. FFXII was the better PS2 FF game. Recently, Remember Me beat me. I only got to the first memory and gave up.
  5. Bioware's new MP only game looks like a generic pile of meh.

Real Bioware hasn't put out a good game for four years, though.

No, Mass Effect 3 came out 2 years ago.

I stand by my timeline, Cowboy's terrible taste in games notwithstanding.

  6. The women's clothing piece is also called suspenders here. But the word "suspenders" conjures up the men's trouser-suspension piece of clothing to the vast majority of Americans. Fun fact: neo-nazi skinheads in the US call them bracers, though, at least in the 70s, 80s, and 90s.
  7. TN: sure. Then a PC release later in 2016. Edit: The more I think about it, the more it seems like this is a smart move to avoid competing with Uncharted 4 on the PS4. I would expect that it would come to PS4 in the back half of 2016, or even earlier, depending on when UC4 drops.
  8. TME: How were DR3 and Ryse pimped? I submit they were pimped almost identically to how the new TR is being pimped. This leads me to believe the exclusivity claim is bullshit and that it's timed.
  9. It's a timed exclusive. Maybe for a significant period, but it will drop on other platforms. Square Enix will not walk away from money.
  10. Exclusive like Ryse and Dead Rising 3? It will drop for other platforms before too long. Neither new console can support AAA third party exclusives quite yet.
  11. I kinda love watching DC flail about and learn all the wrong lessons from Marvel's success.
  12. Shouldn't Arrow have its own thread, considering that DC has confirmed it's not part of the cinematic universe? http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/07/18/batman-v-superman-dawn-of-justice-geoff-johns-no-dc-movietv-crossover
  13. The official PC patch has fixed all the stuttering problems I had. Time to get back to the game!
  14. Iron Man 2 is so bad I didn't even want to think about it or type its title.
  15. "Trousers" is still very much in American English fashion language, actually. It's a category word, I think; blue jeans, dress slacks, and sweatpants are all trousers (and the leg-tube portion of any body-covering clothing, such as overalls, might be called the "trouser," though I am not certain on this point). Women tend to use it more than men, which I only learned recently from my fiancee who works at a fashion magazine.
  16. This is the order in which I enjoyed the movies, from most to least: Guardians of the Galaxy Avengers Captain America 2 Iron Man Captain America Iron Man 3 Incredible Hulk Thor 2 Thor Iron Man 2 In terms of which ones are the best, the order is the same except the top three, which would then be, in descending order: Captain America 2 Avengers Guardians of the Galaxy I could be persuaded to put GotG even lower, maybe around 5th or 6th after Captain America 1 and Iron Man. It was incredibly fun and joyful, but the writing, and some of the acting, was just enough off (and could have been easily improved), that I can't say it's the overall best movie. I like its attitude and the characters and the production design, but the other elements hold it back.
  17. Guardians of the galaxy. Very, very fun. Ronan was disappointing. The central ensemble was fantastic.
  18. The Wii U could have survived being under powered. But it could not survive Nintendo's rock-stupid marketing, unbelievable lack of first-party support within the first year, and the gimmick-y tablet controller.
  19. These are all arguments about arranging deck chairs on the Titanic. Nintendo fucked itself when it launched the underpowered and under-supported Wii U after a confusing and altogether weak marketing campaign. Nintendo fatally overvalued the benefit of releasing a year before the PS4 and Xbone.
  20. I thought it was like an 80% increase in Wii U sales compared to the previous quarter, but quadrupled compared to the same quarter last year. 3DS sales dropped by 40-odd percent this quarter compared to the same quarter last year. The idea that Super Smash Brothers will do significantly better than Mario Kart 8 is delusional. I expect the SSB bump to be roughly the same as the MK8 bump and that the Wii U will do a little better this holiday season than last year. But it won't be enough. Nintendo is fucked.
  21. The Wii U sales bump due to MK8 was less than stellar, too. Another year of losses for Nintendo.
  22. The racing mini games in Lego Marvel are shit and not worth doing.
  23. Arkham Origins was boring, from the plot to the gameplay to the world design. That was its problem.
  24. The information coming out about Pillars of Eternity only increases my excitement for it. Looks like winter 2014 will be all about fantasy RPGs for me.
