  1. Boy, I've got a laundry list. But I'd rather not call them New Year's Resolutions, because those are... you know... don't tend to have the best shelf life. But still. - Figure out how to break up with my girlfriend as nicely as possible (good thing our two year anniversary and v-day is coming up, hey-o) - Move to Washington - Procrastinate waaaaay less (or increase attention span/willpower/productivity) - Start exercising and eating well again (lose beer belly) - Get a short story published somewhere decent (which means write or re-write one so it's good enough first) - Pay down credit cards big time Basically keep my life from sinking down that black hole it's been spiraling this past year. Fuck 2010.
  2. I would let you guys know, but I won't be back with my desktop till tomorrow evening. And I probably won't play it for months. (Thanks, Steam Sale)
  3. I totally agreed with this. Until I actually played the game. Now I get the fuss. Gotta disagree with ya here, Bouch. I'd say Oblivion, but not Morrowind. But I may be slightly biased, considering Morrowind devoured more than 300 hours of my life, and I was happy to let it.
  4. My intestinal lining! I'm hungry...
  5. GUUU- Stupid exclusives. Case West needs to be released on Pee-See!

Yes, I'd like me some Case West..., but I'm not sure if I'd buy it immediately though. Probably wait until it would drop in price. I'd still would love to have the original DR on PC...

Original on PC would be super good, but very doubtful to ever happen.

For five bucks, I'd happily pick up Case West though.

Yeah, I know. I can still dream though. Case West for $5 sounds fine. Although, I'm not sure I'd buy it right away with the steam sale... my wallet hurts and I'm not even home to see if I'll pick up 3 more things D:

  6. Exactly. :'( Three years, maybe less. It's gonna look really weird on me, though. I hold the summer before my freshman year of high school as evidence.
  7. I'd recommend that or a macro. I've got a thing for close-up shots, though.
  8. I don't think we can edit initial posts right now/yet after the 20 minute edit limit. 10. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 9. Halo 3 8. Super Mario Galaxy 7. Gears of War 6. Street Fighter 4 5. StarCraft II 4. Uncharted 2 3. Red Dead Redemption 2. God of War 1. COD: Black Ops Someone let me know if I'm doing this wrong.
  9. Coool. I had been wanting the Ball and Greed Corps. Amnesia is on the cheap if anyone hasn't gotten that yet.
  10. Yeah, the D60 seemed to be a pretty good camera body, so I'd say stick with that. A good lens can be crazy expensive though. Did you get the D60 kit when you got it? My dad got me that at Cost-Co I remember, and it came with a wide angle and zoom lens. Decent lenses, but nothing special. I got a macro/telephoto lens for Christmas from my dad though. Haven't had a chance to try it out as I didn't bring my camera home this trip, but once I try it out I'll let you know if it's any good!
  11. Ohhh. This is an awesome picture. I used to have a D60! That was my first DSLR. But then my dad gave me his old pro digital camera and gave my D60 to my brother in law. Honestly, I miss the D60. Even if it didn't have all the bells and whistles of the one my dad had, I somehow took better pictures on it - perhaps because I still dunno how to use all the new bells and whistles properly, though.
  12. Hey! Your head looks like mine's going to in about three years! *fistbump*
  13. Shoot. Apparently if you buy a pack of games and you already own one of them, the extra just disappears, instead of being giftable. I didn't realize that you only get a gift copy for like five different titles on Steam, if you buy a pack and already own one of the games. That sucks. I guess I won't buy the pack now, since half the reason was to gift one to my friend and get the others I didn't have. ... I sound like someone from the Steam forums. Cool.
  14. I know. I figured you were going to say that, but I was too lazy to delineate what I meant. I was basically just making a leap to reality television, not referring to the talk shows anymore.
  15. To be quite honest, I don't believe that about 90% of reality television is even close to 'real.' Although I'm not sure what's more depressing. Reality television being faked or reality television not being faked.
  16. The best part of being old is how awesome the video games are going to be. Now one thing I fear is that I will be like the old people who have trouble with technology. I don't want to be so far behind the times I became a nuisance. Not to make this thread take a depressing turn or anything, but the level of care my grandmother needs... Like she's in a care facility nearby because it's too extreme at this point. My mom has to help her go to the bathroom when she's here and she can pretty much barely move without her walker. Thinking of my parents getting that old and incapable, or myself (in some five decades) - ahhr. Don't wanna!
  17. The best part of being old is how awesome the video games are going to be. Everything will be motion controlled and you'll break your hip.

  19. Really nothing like it. Story - FF Tactics has a story (IMO) that's not topped by many. King's Bounty is nothing that grandiose, but there's a lot of detail in the quests/NPCs and it's great on its own terms. Gameplay, these kind of PC turn-based SRPGs are very, very different from Japanese SPRGs. It's hard to explain - but I guess it would be like comparing a Bethesda RPG to a Square Enix RPG. Just an entirely different beast, even if they do technically carry the same genre label. For those that are curious, here's a gameplay trailer of the latest entry in the series (which is included in the platinum pack). It shows combat and the overworld. Watching it, honestly, has made me to decide the full pack - I don't have Crossworlds and I need to finish the original anyway, and I think it's worth getting a legitimate copy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7UEsPMN37Wo
  20. If we're talking fears now, I've gotta say, growing old, bitter and never seeing myself as having made anything of myself (with writing, etc) and rather have wasted my life... That's maybe my greatest fear.
  21. Turn-based Strategy RPG, like the Heroes of Might and Magic, Warlords or Disciples series. Differences here, are that your hero doesn't take turns while exploring the world - that is in real time, while the battles remain a turn-based affair. You go around the world completing quests, finding items, leveling up and recruiting troops. Combat is based on a hex grid system and turn based. Story is classic fantasy affair - you're a young, promising knight with the job of 'royal treasure seeker.' So you're just off questing for the glory of the (surprisingly laid back) crown. However, things of course get more complicated, your hero gets embroiled in magical affairs and devious, world ending plots are revealed. It's really a wonderful (and extremely deep) game and the best of its genre in years. Highly recommended!
  22. The story, while not very original, is surprisingly entertaining. It's one of those games where everything's in the details. The localization is excellent, and I was surprised to find the game is very funny. Through all the quest and NPC dialog, it keeps the world feeling vibrant and fresh, and often the stories behind the quests are quite interesting, even if the main story is whatever. The gameplay is incredibly addictive and the visuals are excellent. It was really some of the most fun I've had with a game in a long time, when I first played it. Then again, it's also one of my favorite genres/game-types (and one that is practically endangered these days). For less than $9 for all three games, I'd say it's more than worth it.
  23. Seriously, my internet procrastination and constant need to refresh various websites is getting ludicrous and borderline ADHD. Buuuuuuuuut. I'm stubborn and don't believe in going to a doctor and asking about such things. Instead, I believe in willpower to solve said issues. A stat I seem to keep forgetting to put any points into, and rather dip into to distribute elsewhere.
  24. A game? What's this you say?
  25. I used to be cool with flying. Loved it, in fact. Until a few years ago, flying across the country, I realized I was in a huge chunk of metal magically suspended miles above the earth. Now I tend to get a little nervous.
