  1. When tracking your packages, have you ever wondered why they end up in completely the opposite direction? I can only assume there's a flight heading in my direction.

    1. TheMightyEthan

      TheMightyEthan

I think they move them among progressively more local distribution centers, and that sometimes that means going past their destination.

Well I mean for me right now the package has gone a state over in the opposite direction. I'm thinking it's a "One Step Back, Two Steps Forward" kinda deal. Not to mention the state's airport might not be closer than going a next state over.

      Faiblesse Des Sens

There's likely a distribution center there.

  2. I hate to double post, but I'd hate to pass this up. Relates to Ep. 8, so spoiler tag for the image.
  3. The Pro Controller is a smart move, but did they have to keep the layout of the GamePad? Buttons where the right analog has always been? I think I could get use to the GamePad, but on a traditional controller?
  4. Well, will you look at that... Meh, I doubt it would have arrived during the weekend, not to mention Amazon has the graphic novel for $6.59 when the retail is $10.99. Now to wait until, lets see... October 9th. Yeah, they read like an episode in length, so imagine taking nearly a year to see three episodes.
  5. The Promise - Part 2 arrives this week (Amazon estimate says Tuesday, June 5th), so we'll see if Toph actually teaches her students. In Part 1, you only see the students and Toph tells them to practice as she is about to launch herself into the air and onto Appa. And you bring up a good point Mister Jack, though you have to wonder how much Team Avatar & Co. made known in history texts. "...that's when Sokka discovered cactus juice, and when things got weird."
  6. Did not expect to be looking at new Nintendo stuff today. I'll have to absorb it all in, but I don't expect to have an opinion yet. On Sundays, I'm just too tired.

Nintendo just loves Sundays for some reason.

      Nintendo = God???

Nintendo means 'in the hands of God'. God being Miyamoto.

  7. That's the thing, Dean. Zuko's original source of his firebending was his rage and frustration. In Book Two's "Bitter Work," that's when Iroh teaches Zuko his own technique, lightning redirection (first shown by Iroh countering Azula's lightning to protect Zuko). However, Zuko wanted to learn lightning generation. After all, his prodigy sister can generate lightning and she nearly kicked his butt. Iroh told Zuko of his psychological limitations and how it would not, at the time, be possible. Lightning redirection is possible for any firebender because it's taking already generated lightning, passing it through the body's "sea of chi," and then out of the body. Still, this alone is a dangerous technique because if you can not find yourself expelling the lightning, you're going to kill yourself. We're passing around the phrase "theory," but honestly it's a case of "didn't happen." The only time it would have been possible for Zuko to learn lightning generation was when he finally reunited with Iroh at the White Lotus encampment. At that point though, we had bigger things to worry about, not to mention I'm sure the writers wanted Zuko to only wield lightning redirection. After all, Zuko was able to counter both Ozai and Azula's lightning attacks. EDIT: In a way, it was like a "Jedi-Sith" scenario where the bad guys would generate the "cold-blooded fire" and Zuko, the redeemed, would counter it with the technique his righteous uncle taught him. Speaking of, lightning generation isn't as straight forward. In TLA, it appeared that Ozai had greatly mastered the technique because he could generate lightning very quickly compared to Azula. It's possible that the firebenders in LoK can only generate a small amount of lightning because their own purpose in using lightning is for industrial purposes. I mean, when... And about that other bending...
  8. Advertising for the Hitman series has always been a little "over the line." To this day I still remember a magazine ad for Blood Money where a cellist's throat was cut with wire, and in the article it shows the bullet hole in the woman's head spread. Still, I think this is overreacting, though with some valid criticism. It's mostly a interesting trailer with violent action. The direction, I feel, was that these women were going from fully-clothed figures to sexy-deadly assassins. Agent 47 getting dress isn't about how "men are fully clothed, and women arent." You see his battle scars and know from those few shots that he has experience and lived through deadly encounters. Still, it's not exactly a trailer I would show a non-gaming group and ringing out the merits of video games. It does go about the "sex sells" route. Of course, it's Hitman and you're bound to be going through adult themes in this M-rated series. Would I like it if more female assassins didn't always wear tight unrealistic clothes? Eh, mostly, but there's always room for it. Just, it would be cool to get some deadly ladies like Sniper Wolf. Maybe it was because Metal Gear Solid was in Alaska, but she was just fine in that coat of her's. EDIT: Heh, looked up Sniper Wolf again and the massive cleavage completely slipped my mind. Maybe it was because of those PS1 graphics it didn't hit me right away. Perhaps not the best example... Maybe "sexy" and "deadly" have to go together.
  9. I think I'll start one up tomorrow, and hopefully I can begin making the images I've had in mind. Any who, revised Asami glove, though the lightning is probably always going to look... "bright."
  10. Eh, I put it back into spoiler tags. I've seen a few others (with the logo) that take on a different pattern, but it's relatively the same. I'm going to try a variation of it, but I'm wondering... Anyone have a Tumblr? Or how about that Imgur site? Which do you think would be best to try spreading some images? Lately I've come across the GIFs I've posted on some fan forums and Know Your Meme (a collection if anything).
  11. Believe it or not, I was really picky on the exact pattern of the lightning for a continuous loop, but I got it down! Considering you can download the preview clips anywhere and anytime, I thought I'd go for a cool Asami scene. EDIT: Nevermind, lol! I figured out how to change the rate. By default, a video clip animation goes by 0.03 seconds per frame. However, that's not quite a full second for 30 frames (0.9). I tried a rate of 0.035(1.05), but Photoshop changes it to 0.04. So, it's 30 frames for 1.2 seconds. Probably best for the lightning, and doing the full scene was going to take up a full 1MB of a GIF. Still, what do you guys think? I would suggest not staring at it too long...
  12. That's what I think too, Ethan. Now that people are trained in firebending not as a form of militaristic domination, but as a martial art, that firebenders who are at peace with their emotional state can manipulate lightning. Sure, Mako's parents are dead, but he has his brother and has probably come to the realization that as a child it was out of his control. Zuko had an internal struggle, which was personified by how he was related to both Fire Lord Sozin and Avatar Roku. His sister, though a manipulative and cruel girl, was mentally comfortable with herself and her actions. As her mental state wore, she could still manipulate lightning, but it was noticeably more radical. P.S. Thanks for the spoiler tags! I didn't think about how early it was still.
  13. You know, perhaps it is best that I don't always catch an episode on Nick... (And LP, I promise to make that a GIF as soon as possible!)
  14. I've found a method to making logo-less GIFs of Legend of Korra; Bandicam + Nick.com = SUCCESS!

    1. TheMightyEthan

      TheMightyEthan

How long after they air do the episodes usually go up on Nick.com?

    2. CorgiShinobi

      CorgiShinobi

Relatively soon, but I've never personally kept track. I think it could be up Sunday, or at the latest Monday.

  15. Well, the next episode is titled "Out of the Past" and the brief synopsis of it is "Korra tries to make sense of her visions while Tenzin and Lin Beifong search for Equalist's hostages." So yeah, what we're expecting is probably going to happen. Then after that is an episode titled, "Turning the Tides" and I can't help but think something big will go down given the title alone. As for a certain lady...
  16. If you haven't seen it yet, the Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance E3 trailer appears to take after Birth by Sleep's "meaningful plot progression."

    1. Strangelove

      Strangelove

Can they really not blow up the screen? Do they need that large border? Im guessing they do it because it would look too blurry, but tons of games up the resolution solely for trailers.

Anyways, the game still looks really good, sadly I already read up on the plot of it. So no surprised for me unless they add something to the US release.

  17. Gawd, took me forever to watch an online stream of the episode. The thing would keep buffering every 10 seconds, so I had to let the episode play on its own because it would only play smoothly if it had already played the scene. Sometimes it's difficult to wake up before 9 AM on a Saturday. Anyway, this was a great episode, especially for relationships and conspiracy theories. Interesting fact, "Yakone" is an Inuit phrase meaning "blood in the snow," so take that to what you know. P.S. Freakin' Ikki, droppin' bombs and chasing after Pabu. She's become my favorite airbender kid now.
  18. Sometimes my subscriptions like/favorite some funky stuff.
  19. I'll just let you read my last comment a second time. It's the one that was posted today about an hour ago, not the one from May 25th.
  20. There will be a new episode tomorrow, but in case you haven't seen anything about it yet, Asami is Batman!
  21. Ah man... I will say, I do miss my Shadowshackle attack as a Magick Archer, but the holy attack I had (Magic Ascension?) wasn't that great...
  22. I much prefer this trailer. (Mega 64 advertising, one of Konami's few saving graces.)
  23. Anyone have any experience with Turtle Beach headsets? I can get the P11 for $35, but wanted some second thoughts.

@Johnny: It's not quite to the extent that the speakers are shitty, it's moreso that their smaller size means they don't perform as well at max volume as a larger speaker would but can still attain some level of loudness while retaining their quality.

Ditto to what Ethan said about sensitivity. My recommendation if you're just looking for a stereo headset is to get the Siberia V2.

    3. CorgiShinobi

      CorgiShinobi

I went ahead with the Siberia V2 for PS3, which is compatible with all platforms. Luckily it was over 50% on Amazon because the full retail price is $120!

Hope you like it! Excel recently got one and though he hasn't used it much, I tried it out myself and I can attest to it's quality.

  24. The first half reminds me of how Rising could have had an interesting story. Then you get to the rest of it and it's something I think you'd have to mentally block out "Metal Gear" to enjoy the game. I mean, it looks like a blast to play, but it's more so Vanquish with Metal Gear (inspired) characters. Vanquish was a blast and I played that for a good amount of time, but it wasn't exactly the pinnacle of plot, character, and acting.
  25. Yeah, you only see two dudes and it doesn't sound like there are that many people. Are we to think this was an internal private "announcement" and someone just had to record it?
