  1. Pfft, I've got that on original Game Boy cartridge! (Since last year when I got it used because I was super hyped for Metroid: Other M. Turns out, Metroid II is the better game!)
  2. I got AC: Revelations for $32.01 through Best Buy online. Looks like all the online shoppers already had their fill and/or are waiting in a line outdoors.

  3. Actually, while it's a bit odd using solely MotionPlus, I do like how you can technically play with the controller without concern of it having always pointing at the television. Of course, once you get into sword fighting I guess being a couch potato doesn't last.
  4. A friend of mine texted tonight that there are already people lined up outside stores. Thanksgiving has always been governed by Black Friday, but it seems that people would like to forgo the holiday all together for an HDTV.

It won't, but I at least expected people to eat some kind of Thanksgiving meal and then head out to wait in a line. It's sad really, even if someone is a antisocial hermit wanting some electronics.

Most stores are opening way early this year, like around midnight instead of 5AM.

Try at 10. I am heading out after a nap and the kids are down for the night.

  5. It's nice being home, but it gets a bit boring once you realize most of your friends are away and you're the only child capable of visiting the folks.

      Waldorf and Statler

I'm in a position where I'll have my friends here by friday but I need to get a book read, and start on an essay before the weekend ends. So even if I wanted to, this isn't much of a break.

  6. Anyway, some other question: Does anyone keep any books they come across? There are some that look really interesting, but I don't take the time to read them during a quest, so I bring them along. The downside is that each book is weighed at 1 and sometimes, if you're coming across valuable items, a few books can make a difference. Right now I'm 1000 away from the house in Whiterun, but I'm a Companion now so I use the dresser in the room with all the other newbies.
  7. Good thing you guys live close to each other, or at least not very far away, right? That's the downside of having my sister gone; if roommates were being dicks, I had a second home a few miles away. I'm fortunate enough to have roommates that even if they're staying up to the point of dawn, I can walk out of my room and they get the idea.
  8. Not my words mind you, but a bunch of angry online reviews. Something doesn't sit well and the whole thing is out the window and into a burning dumpster 30 stories below. Just wanted some idea as to why people might be in a fit over Steam and what isn't exactly "PC" about Skyrim. @Dean: Don't you dare bring those memories up!
  9. Don't want to spark a debate, so don't you dare think about it either! Hey... HEY! Reasons I post this are: 1) I've known two Mario Kart stoners in lifetime (hilarious times), and 2) The "legalize it" reasons do seem good on paper, but you have to wonder if it's really what someone wants, like those awkward moments with your father and exactly how government and retail business would handle the new "product." Remember, this is comedy so I don't want to see... HEY, DON'T POST A SERIOUS RESPONSE!
  10. I stopped right before putting on the iconic green tunic, so now I won't be playing until Monday. Better than waiting till Christmas.
  11. Oh, I just realized how I didn't post about Puss in Boots. Yeah, it was actually pretty good. Dreamworks pretty much milked the ogre dry, and I originally thought Puss would carry the tradition of "Cash-In." Nope, it's really great all-around, though obviously as an adult you'll notice some troubling plot holes. Then again Puss in Boots actually remembers that the setting is suppose to be "fairy tale" and not "we've got fairy tale characters." One last thing, Humpty seriously looks Zach Galifianakis without a beard. At least, it feels that way.
  12. So was there an update yesterday? As I was reading up on how to fix the launching problem (I mentioned in my status update), there were users saying it was because an update became available. I know there will be a patch next week, but Steam itself was (supposedly) up-to-date and there was no option to update Skyrim. So I verified the game cache and it reacquired a file and everything runs again. Maybe this is why people got in a fit over how Skyrim is a Steam client game? I dunno, but last night I was browsing Amazon and I noticed how the PC version had quite a lot of 1 Star ratings. I thought maybe it would be fanboy rage, but it was a lot of "Steam" and "Console Port" rage. Does Skyrim come off as a console port to you guys? When I looked at the UI, I actually thought it looked and worked better with a mouse. I mean, there's room for it to work with a controller as well, but I don't think that makes it an entire "sell out" to consoles.
  13. Skyrim won't launch for me! It just constantly goes into a loop of "Click Play, Steam launching, Click Play." I'm about to try a few things out, but if this has happened to you, tell me what you did!

Alright, got it fixed. For once Yahoo answers came through. It looks like I had to validate the game cache (or something) in Steam and a file had to be reacquired.

  14. Amazon had some really great "Black Friday" deals this morning. So great that in the first ten minutes they were all gone.

Yeah, there were a lot of great video game deals. If you were looking for something on 360, those all went out first.

  15. Haven't I made it clear that I'm not talking about anything related to Occupy, even the aggressive force of pepper spraying the protestors? My original post after this incident talked about the two extremes you see in protesting, like the event which occurred recently. That's all on the lieutenant's head. Maybe the students were being passive-aggressive punks, or maybe the officer let himself get caught up in personal bias and sought any opportunity to bring force to the situation. My money is on the latter, but I merely wanted to bring to the table that protests display the worst in human nature, on both sides. But as I've said, I'm not about to go on a cop hating spree because there are law enforcement individual who prove to succumb to stress and/or anger. We're human, even the protestors who go against a peaceful method. I just really don't like protests because it's never reasonable and I absolutely don't like misunderstanding. I'm pretty self-conscious to tell you the truth, even online.
  16. If someone is at fault for a legitimate reason, no bias involved (as unbelievable as that is), then people should understand, "Well, Joe wasn't exactly cooperating with us either." People are still going to be pissed because one look over the shoulder and all you'd see is a police officer handling a protestor. "Black-n-White" kicks in and "What the hell are you doing? Huh!" Hypothetical question: What if someone from the video got up, starting shouting in her face and began acting hostile? Oh, don't mind him, he's with us and he's just angry at the situation, not you! Protestors and officers taking responsibility for their actions, all I'm saying. Nothing in the sort of, "I defend Group A and not Group B."
  17. WTF? Did I ever defend that? No. Any action, like having to escort persons off private property or legitimately arrest someone for a breach of public law. It happens, but just seeing it gets people pissed because it's "aggression." Seriously, W-T-F?
  18. See, I'm nearly on the same page, but there will be protestors who see any action police officers take as an act of aggression. There may be a justified reason to remove (just remove) some protestors, yet tell that to a crowd where detail is scarce and where personal failings are confused with orders. I've said before protests mostly become unreasonable events, and I would say that's because no one is going to have a proper amount of (or accurate) information to understand what's going on in a ten foot radius. Now I'm not directing this to Occupy as well. To be honest, it stems from my frustration of "misunderstandings." Had them happen to me a lot as a kid because I couldn't speak well. You know how people say first impressions are everything? Yeah, the impressions I must have given that stuck to me until I moved elsewhere. What does this have to do with anything? Nothing much, just that it's the reason why I strive to gain perspective rather than clinging to whatever may appeal to me first.
  19. Anyone else have dragon remains teleport? Like, the bones of the first dragon have moved from around the watchtower to right in front of the Whitehorn stables for me. I've heard that NPCs can suddenly disappear and move elsewhere, but it was kinda freaky to see the bones move (Skeleton Dragon? Right now?!), disappear, and then greet me at the stables.
  20. Naps are amazing things, if not my favorite time of the day.

  21. Not at all, I just don't get the thinking that comes with labeling an entire movement this way. Letting it be spoiled by those few. It's on the cops to not be dicks as their job is to maintain peace. Uphold the law. The standards are set much higher for them so when they fail the effect is great. Never was labeling the Occupy Movement. I'm talking protests; take your pick. I'm talking about how people can demonize one party, but then foolishly uphold the other as if every single one is a saint. If someone is acting improper to their objective, no matter their position, they should be held accountable. The way I see it, law enforcement is the neutral party. They protect the protest, and they protect those outside the protest. You can't forget, when people get into a large group, tension runs high and those few "spoiled" participants act like embers to a dry forest. While there are those who earnestly seek out a peaceful protest, the few take matters in a passive-aggressive approach. Once the line has been crossed, those embers turn the forest into a raging inferno. Best example by far would be the London riots which were derived from a protest about police action in shooting a man. So yeah, there are police officers being abhorrent scum, but I'm not going to start spitting at a line of them because Lt. Dickweed shouldn't operate pepper spray.
  22. Every kid I've come across, minus that one Battle-Born boy, has been a spoiled/rude brat. I can see the worth in this mod.
  23. Examples? You're doubting that in any possible protest ever there's never been at least one person who's idiocy has ruined the reputation of the protestors, and in effect, the subject/cause? It doesn't matter who's in a protest or what it's about, but there's always going to be someone who gets it through their head that one dirty trick or maneuver will justify the means. It's kinda how protests can turn into those things called "riots." EDIT: You know, I actually tried to find the video clip of this television show my roommate and I were watching last year, but I never thought I would have to remember the name of a "shocking videos" program. Anyway, as far as anecdotal evidence will go, some protest was going on in a foreign country and tension was high. No duh, right? A cameraman was recording the action between a few law enforcement personnel and a crowd of protestors. One officer is talking to these young men, but suddenly some guy decides to trip up the officer and give him a push. The young men the officer was talking to began shouting as though the police officer broke the final straw and began fighting. It would have been the usual "officer starts riot" incident, except there was a cameraman there who had the proper angle to show what really happened. It's like the Cracked article about Logical Fallacies: We're programmed to "Win," not to seek out "Truth."
  24. Might be a little old to some, but today I read how PETA claims Mario's Tanooki suit promotes wearing fur. Gosh, and here I thought Mario got his suits from abstract power-ups, not actual animals!

Sorry I don't keep up-to-date on PETA. Now I know they were being "facetious" and that makes them less ridiculous.

      Totally.

Yet they have no problem with Mario stepping on and kicking turtles to their death ...

  25. I repeat my sentiment that protests display the worst nature of mankind, on both sides. You have the near totalitarian attitude of a few police officers, and then you have the "rebel" participants who seem more interested in stirring shit up than furthering whatever the cause may be. The aggressors who want the opportunity to bring "justice" to the "hippies," and the instigators who want the opportunity to show "freedom" to the "pigs." But this is human nature. No matter how much we want to say things are not black and white, we constantly associate people/things with a "good" and "evil." The United States has been through this before, and quite frankly there will probably be another event similar to this a decade from now. So while it's depressing, and even sickening, this is what will happen when people have freedom and rights. Something won't be right, people will gather, and thus the proverbial feces throwing contest will begin.
