Even if my laptop doesn't make this the "prettiest" game I have, I have to say I would be hogging the common area's HDTV if I went PS3. I had my first crash (game) and I'm thinking that's because after 5 hours of gameplay, my laptop got a little toasty. Gotta say, probably my one accomplishment for tonight was killing two mammoths while I was at lvl. 6 (arrows and lightning) and running away from the giant.

On average, is it worth upgrading a laptop's graphics card? I don't think I'll be getting a desktop PC anytime soon, at least until I have a stable career. I may know someone who could help, but it's still going to cost money. Thoughts?

As for a driver update, I've tried multiple times and it never works properly. ATI Catalyst installs, but instantly says something isn't correct, or what have you.

Video cards are not upgradable in most all laptops aside from crazy soldering DIY stuff. There was a line of Alienwares that had swappable cards but it only lasted for a short while. Also, ATI's drivers suck.

Animated "kids" shows rarely ever get season box sets, that is, while they're still airing. Like Malicious said, maybe in ten years and you'll get a series box set (like The Powerpuff Girls). The truly depressing part is that you'll probably never see a Blu-ray either as DVD volumes are dirt cheap. I only mention this because it's the situation Adventure Time has as well. "My Two Favorite People" is the first DVD volume for the show, but it's a mix of episodes from the first two seasons. The show is broadcast in HD, but you might never get an episode in HD. Though, there are some shows available for download in HD on the PSN Store. Probably the same for iTunes.

Even the uploader was surprised at how many views his video got. Just goes to show, cats and toddlers get the YouTube views. I mean, "Charlie bit my finger" is around 389 million views.

I'm currently on top of a mountain, so when I updated, I really only noticed new sounds.

So I disabled Vsync thanks to the previous link with the tweaks, but for advice, where should I store the backup file? Of course, I only added a single line to the file, so maybe it's not that important. My main problem is frame rate. My PC can handle better settings, but something causes the rate to drop. Any other suggestions as to what could be the problem?

I got me Skyrim tonight, yep! I went to Best Buy with a $5 off certificate, but all their PC copies were pre-orders that wouldn't be up for grabs till tomorrow. Tomorrow is a very busy day for me. I went to FYE where I could still get a discount. I've learned today that if it's not overpriced, then FYE probably don't have many copies either. GameStop for $59.99... Yeah, I could get it on Steam, but if I'm getting a PC game for that high of a price, I rather have a disc.

I was thinking of getting an $80 HDTV on Black Friday, but given how low my entertainment will be when I'm on vacation, Skyrim might be the better alternative.

Walking through the grocery store and I come across a chocolate bar that is "90% Cocoa." That's the darkest chocolate I've seen since I've also seen 87%. It was on sale, since really, who would pay $2.29 for a chocolate bar? Brought it home, took a mouthful, and thus recoiled in horror at the taste that was haunting my taste buds.

Anything beyond 60% is bitter. Might as well as buy baker's chocolate at 90%. Blech!

Herp-a-derp on my part, even after I read the page... twice. Then again, you'll get the nuts who'll want to buy more than one TV so they can make a profit online. I can only imagine the television being mediocre. but it's still worth $200 if you can get your hands on one.

Yeah, Best Buy is going to have a Sharp 42" 1080p LCD HDTV for $199.99. Of course, there is a limit of 10 per store. I feel like most gamers wait till Cyber Monday because Black Friday is more of an "all-around" discount event. There are still a good number of video game deals, but maybe not "personal injury" worth it. http://bfads.net/ I've posted the link again, simply because I prefer the ad scans there.

I find when you get older, people really appreciate "get me this." Unless you have a friend or relative who's really creative, most people will be glad to go on an errand and spend a millisecond in picking up a gift. It's like have a registry for a wedding, but more so "this is how you should spend your money."

I haven't on the night of, but it might depend where you live for the most part. If you have a heavy Wal-Mart community, they may all flock there leaving you the people committed to savings at other retail stores. That's what it'll be like for me at least when I go home for Thanksgiving. The Wal-mart is literally two blocks away, but none of their sales really interest me.

Roommate showed me Can You RUN It, and it looks like I make the minimum requirements. I think if I upgrade a few things, it might even be near "Recommended." Still, I don't think I'll be getting Skyrim any time soon, but I'll go with PC. (Steam will probably have sales soon anyway, right?)

Best Buy will have Assassin's Creed: Revelations for $35. If I had the money, Best Buy will also have the 250GB Xbox 360 bundle (Fable III and Halo: Reach) for $199.99. GameStop will have Rocksmith for $50, and I don't particularly know guitar well enough to say I "play." There's also going to be the reveal of the Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Special Edition 3DS bundle (Ocarina of Time 3D) for $179.99 at a few places like Best Buy. It'll be either $189.99 or the retail price of $199.99 at others. EDIT: Oh, but yeah, I'm going to try to go to one of these on Black Friday.
