  1. Kinda had a bad day. Forgot my prescription slip, construction and traffic around my apartments, someone didn't come into work. At least I was able to rent Black Ops.

  2. DX is totally worth it. You do get that extra dungeon, but the colors really do bring new life into the '93 game.
  3. Double Post Glory! So I've got all Gold on Normal, and I'm giving myself the Good Katherine ending too. Gotta say, I went through a lot faster, but at the same time I was getting greedy for the coins. At the end of Stage 9-5, I tried to block-drop to the last pile of coins. I didn't realize it, but I dropped on the wrong side of the block and to my death. Piss me off! I passed the goal simply for some coins and died! Did the boss battle once more, though I'm not sure I did as good as the last time. Still, I easily passed Stage 9-6 and received my Gold. Actually, I'm watching the ending now and hoping I did get a different one. The True and Good endings are similar in the first half... EDIT: Yep, I got the Good Katherine ending. I could technically go for the Bad Catherine, but I need a little break after that headache. Besides, I know I'm not going to be able to Platinum the game. One of the hidden trophies is to get all Gold on Hard mode!
  4. Should I bother to rent Black Ops? I mean, I would only be playing the single player. I'm also tempted to rent DNF so I can tell others, from experience, the mediocrity of it all.

If it's only for the singleplayer, it's worth a rent.

Yeah, Blacks Ops is worth at least a rent for the story. It's better than you'd expect a COD story to be.

  5. I agree with the image. Yet, the beginning I would say is subjective: "Enjoyment." We've talked about piracy as a form of demoing a game, but pages back I brought up the idea of "demoing" sometimes leading to completion. To summarize, I think the description is valid if you didn't enjoy the game and didn't complete it. Sitting down and completing the game must have meant there was something of worth to you. That, or perhaps you're a masochist. I guess I've mimicked Extra Credits, but yeah, I don't know if you can justify a statement like, "I didn't like it at all, but I played it all." Since you didn't pay for it, you should be able to put it down without any consequence and move on.
  6. Seriously, I get to Step 134/150 of Altar in Catherine's Babel mode, and while the last 12 steps are simple, the few blocks I had between were few. So close, but yet so far! (In the end, does it even matter?)

It's all about that High score boy! Well I don't know, I never got the chance to tackle babel :C

In the end, it does matter.

To the part of the brain that controls anger, anyways.

      Words of wisdom, indeed.

  8. I'm gonna go on a little media hiatus, so limited Internet usage.

I tried to do that once. I couldn't go past 2 days. <_<

I think I can. Just for a week, so a webcomic or two along with some subscription videos.

Do you count books or movies?

  9. Today was a lonely day. I'm usually fine by myself, but today I really wanted to be part of something with anyone. I also found out I can be boring given the lack of an interesting life.

Give it time. Periods like this always come and go. A couple of years down the line and you could be doing something with a great community, that you'll remember forever. Life goes through so many shitty little stages, but you'll always come out of them and become totally satisfied without realising it!

Don't tell me...you miss your roommate?!

  10. The Bad endings, in my opinion, are the "last minute 180" decisions. Having those could represent that Vincent still isn't sure of his future, and so your relationship isn't going to have the best footing because of the "spur of the moment" thinking. Now the True Cheater ending... it's something else.
  11. Yes Hot Heart, I read that bit...
  12. Logged on to Netflix to see the raised prices. They seem reasonable to me, even the two new plans. My Unlimited Streaming is still $7.99, but I'm thinking of adding 1 DVD to it.

Yeah, there's no reason for me to cancel. Even with the streaming-only catalog, it's the best deal in town, especially if you love good TV.

      I have netflix and Amazon streaming. I am thinking of dropping the disc for a while as I don't use it much anymore. I BUY too many DVDs. ^_^;;

  13. EDIT: Found the wiki on it: It's every 200 years, and that one scientist lady seemed intent on having the Vault key ready until next time.
  14. I got it at Best Buy last night, but bothered to take a picture today. Now I know how to use Dropbox!
  15. Oh, maybe I should have spoiler tagged that... Just that, everyone beforehand had already completed the game. There's a little bit more to the ending, trust me, but I'm sure you've already seen everyone else mention its lackluster quality.
  16. That ending was horrendous! I played the entire game in single player. I had two friends that said they wanted to play online, but when I gave them my PSN ID, they never bothered to set a time. I didn't have a roommate at the time, and even then all of my roommates so far haven't been big gamers. Usually have to go next door to talk about games. EDIT: Added spoiler security! B)
  17. The ending is dependent on the final questions of Stage 9. Looking at IGN's guide, it sounds like you got the Normal/Good Katherine ending (not True). That said, you must have answered "Yes" to Question 3 as that is the only difference between the two endings' requirements.

  19. I don't like it when "Blame the Parents" is the go-to response by disgruntled gamers over video game controversy. Not to say it's never true, but more frequently it comes off as a "NO U" comeback.

There isn't enough blaming of the parents as it is. So I champion the movement to BLAME MORE PARENTS! Tame your brats, bitches.

But... but... DADDY WASN'T THERE! Also, Momma held me too much. Why? WHY!

  20. While we can preserve older games, there will still be problems due to the dependent nature of gaming electronics. Storing/archiving only solves half the problem. I use to have a television circa 1988 that I would use for older consoles. Around 2001, it finally died standing on its last leg. I memorized the channels because the numbers burnt out back in '99. When the cable channels switched once, ugh! Anyway, once that died, I was stuck with composite. The technology had to be altered, but I could still play given some extra effort. Still, I don't mind remastering. I understand the "cultural" aspect of having older technology, but the common gamer wants to play and so we will have it as a continual option. Considering there are gaming museums, especially the one at E3, there are some "archives." Though, most often these devices are artifacts rather than viable entertainment mediums and so you could see them more as graveyards. Something like an NES cartridge can die because of the battery inside. Discs, given time, can warp. Not trying to sound like the devil's advocate, but there's much more to the technology than storage. We're going to need a medium to continual operate and authentically manipulate the games. Not every game can benefit from keyboard operation.
  21. Best Buy still has the price at $250 and when I asked, the employees were baffled that it was going to be that much cheaper.
  22. Deathly Hallows Pt. 1 Yeah, I haven't seen it until now. I mean, the movie embodies the boring half of the seventh book, so I was never really eager to see it. I finally got the chance by renting it at Redbox. Near the end it kinda felt like it was dragging on, but it had its exciting moments. Pretty good, and really, I can now tell me I've seen the film because people will assume I hate Harry Potter with me not having seen this film. Honestly, I just like the series. I wanted to see Pt. 2 for a while now, but I'm not keen on the idea of viewing in a theater alone.
