  1. Oh, you'd think so... you'd think so...
  2. The last time I shopped at FYE (months ago), they were handing out flyers for a Vampire Knight release something-or-other kinda event. Basically, I feared for my health when I saw the characters, and the words "cosplay" in the description.
  3. Going to write my last paper of the semester. Just think, in just two weeks I'll be attending spring semester. :|

Except I have Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer. Spring and Summer are optional semesters if you want/need to catch up on a few class.

Yeah, each standard class lasts two and half hours in one day.

...so you have quarters, not semesters. :P

      Not exactly...

Spring and Summer are really short. By short, I mean less than two months. That's why the standard class time, 50 minutes, is extended to 2.5 hours.

Technically, they're "terms," but everyone calls them semesters.

  4. Cars is watchable, but it's definitely the one Pixar movie that I'm hesitant to watch. It's not like I haven't seen the thing playing on television multiple times. Of all the Pixar movies to have a sequel, why would Cars get priority over The Incredibles? I'm sure there's a valid reason, but it seems ridiculous considering how of those two movies, The Incredibles had the most potential for another installment. Instead we're receiving a film on secret agent cars. I'm sure it'll be good, what with it being Pixar and all.
  5. This is pretty much my thought process. I would never, in my entire lifetime, become offended over terms like "cartoon" and "anime" being used in context that I know are not accurate. Generally, I say I watch animated shows and movies. That's the truth because Looney Tunes, Freakazoid, Darkwing Duck, FLCL, Gurren Lagann, Outlaw Star, Tenchi Muyo, Samurai Champloo, American Dad, Adventure Time, Toy Story, Tangled, The Secret of NIMH, Wall-E, The Princess and the Frog, Fantasia, Regular Show, and etc. are all animated! The difference is that people will generally think of Looney Tunes as a "cartoon" and something like Dragon Ball Z as an "anime." Adults are self-conscious about watching cartoons so they call shows like Family Guy and The Simpsons as something like an "animated adult show" or some nonsense. There's the issue of locality, but I tend to point out that creation and production can be entirely two different locations.
  6. I would have to say Nintendo, though I don't particularly have a favorite. Part of me feels like I would be a fan of Valve as well. The only problem is that I haven't played a lot of their games. Half-life, Portal... that's it. Heck, I haven't even played Portal in all of its entirety because it was a friend's copy, and part of the experience was watching my friend play parts of the game too.
  7. I would say the gameplay in BioShock 2 is what kept me playing, whereas the first BioShock had the story keeping me hooked. Having all your abilities present really made a difference. I said it before in the actual BioShock thread, but the weapon-plasmid swapping of the first game was really clunky. I unintentionally used weapons for a majority of the game, and plasmids were suppose to be the benefit of BioShock!
  8. I know there's a trend/meme with this show, so ya'll that do the FiM stuff enjoy what a subscription of mine Liked.
  9. Is there a job that involves taking credit for other people's work? I can't imagine where he would fit in. Maybe in marketing. My guess? He'll be a tester.
  10. Gonna go to work and see if I can clear my mind, as ironic as that sounds.

Nothing like some back-breaking labor to build character.

Yeah, nothing like back breaking, soul crushing labour to supress the mind.

      OBEY!

  11. I was kinda referring to piracy, unless I'm mistaken and there was some piracy method to the PS3 before the "crack." I know there was that USB dongle-thing, but that quickly went the way of the dinosaurs after Sony caught wind. EDIT: Ugh, I've seen articles on the settlement, and the user comments make me so damn nauseous. Either people are praising Anonymous for "taking down" Sony, which doesn't add up chronologically, or they're in ecstasy about how Sony/Hotz won. I swear and I hope that the settlement also means that Hotz received a job with Sony now. All the nincompoops hollering for either to crumble to the ground will have to come to the reality that Sony and Hotz have, metaphorically, become one. I dunno, while I think Hotz is still a jackass, at least he has potentially screwed over his rabid following of children. Either way, in about a month this should all be water under the bridge.
  12. It finally arrived in the mail! I didn't bother to spring an extra $18 simply to have an Identity Disc (Collector's Edition) case for the discs.
  13. I think Sony, or those response for handling this lawsuit, came to accept that, "Crap, now we're just like the 360 and Wii. I have to say, four and a half years wasn't that bad. Ya think there's some development on a PS4?"
  14. I'm sure there will be folks moaning about how some of the concept covers were not chosen, but I think Valve made the right choice. Of course, these were rather good runner-ups. The important thing you have to remember when designing a cover is that it's an image that must appeal to customers, not just your fans. There were a lot of great concepts, but only those with a knowledge of Portal would understand the significance of the characters. I think another reason why Valve went with the co-op bots for advertising and marketing is because you'll actually see them when playing Portal 2. Your avatar has a name, it being Chell, but that's it. I guess you could say you command her actions, much like Link becomes the Hero by your input. Yet, the whole time GLaDOS talks to you and, my memory might be fuzzy, but I don't think GLaDOS refers to the character as Chell, correct? So, unless you're aware of the portal tricks to see your self, or the game itself begins to bring awareness to an individual named Chell, she goes by unnoticed. I wouldn't be surprised if people began asking "Is that woman on the cover just some random character?"
  15. I don't know much about the history of FPS games, because really, I didn't play a lot of them until this current (7th) generation. Sure I played GoldenEye 007, but that simply brought a great FPS multiplayer experience to home consoles. I would say, as far as popularizing FPS games, Halo could possibly be the biggest influence. It was the one game that brought all the "bros" and jocks into gaming. For those groups, Modern Warfare was probably the game that brought the modern setting in FPS games. Of course, as what has been said, gamers have a better knowledge of previous FPS titles and so to them there is a much older game that brought forth a modern setting in the FPS genre.
  16. Hey, they're useful for things. Though, yes, I can't take someone seriously when they want me to believe a reviewer to verify that their opinion is valid in spite of their lack of experience with the actual game. Minecraft: I stay away from the game, much like WoW, in that I know if I ever got a taste of it, I would probably become addicted. Just look at what happened to me with Pokemon White. I was almost not going to get it, and now I've been training, catching, breeding, exploring, and doing all kinds of tasks for 60+ in-game hours!
  17. I swear, InuYasha was like a pre-Twilight in my experience. Girls you would never think had an interest in anime, well, they liked InuYasha. I bet what probably helped was that Kagome had power over Inuyasha whenever he acted up, "Sit, boy!" Still, it actually was entertaining. I contribute that to the demons, and (personally) Miroku. Dude was a bona fide ass-man.
  18. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVM3IvsI46s The falling castle (not shown), the ultimate battle of light and darkness (rather simple), the final blow and sealing of Ganon/Ganondorf, and the very ending are astounding and "epic." I still get goosebumps when I see all of this at the end of Ocarina of Time.
  19. You sure it wasn't some kind of kinky alien abduction?
  20. I know I said I would lay off of Pokemon for a while, but I learned something very important. SAMUROTT CAN LEARN MEGAHORN! You know, the Bug-type move with Base Attack 120. The trick is to go to that woman in Mistralton City who will, for a Heart Scale, have your Pokemon learn previous "learned" moves. Supposedly Samurott has Megahorn as a Start move. Lol, Grass-types beware!
  21. I ate spaghetti (prepared by self) and stale bread. I was hoping to live long enough to play Portal 2 and watch my copy of Tron once it arrived in the mail. :'(

yeah I'd toast bread if it's stale.

I didn't think to toast it, but I've survived.

  22. Instead of a mirror, I feel like I've opened the door to your apartment and you're interested in what I'm selling. Of course I'm not aware of what I'm selling, but it must be really good.
  23. A couple months ago my friends and I tried to crash a Skull Candy event party. It ended with the doorman giving us the stink eye and some attendee dropping F-bombs while stomping on the street.
  24. Off to the library for five hours!

  25. Pfft, obviously Portal 2! I watched IGN's Co-op video yesterday and can not wait to high five my bot-bro, which I guess GLaDOS frowns upon.
