Since I doubt we'll be playing each other, what with no WPA support on my end, I might as well tell you my moves for two of my Pokemon. Keep in mind these are moves I want ultimately, not that I have them now.
Excel, fellow Galvantula Groupie, take note!
Galvantula: Thunder, Bug Buzz, Energy Ball, and Light Screen.
As of now, he's equipped with Thunderbolt, which should be enough to tackle the Elite Four. Thunder is 120 Sp. Atk, but most importantly has 10 PP. If your Galvantula has Compoundeyes, you don't have to worry about the 70% accuracy.
Bug Buzz is the strongest Bug-type Sp. Atk move Galvantula is capable of learning. Pretty much all there is to it.
Energy Ball is a Grass-type attack with 80 Sp. Atk. This is one of those moves where, "Well, it's Electric, so do I need another move to take on Water types?" HOWEVER, think of those Ground- and Rock-types!
What ties this all together is Light Screen. Light Screen doesn't just add Sp. Def for 5 (or 8) turns, but also doubles the user's Special when attacked by a Special move. The only thing I have to worry about is Brick Break.
As such, I don't have to worry about base Attack. I'm sorta regretting giving Joltik some Protein to help with that stat, but Joltik and Galvantula begin with quite a few Physical attacks. So, at the time, it was alright. All there is to worry about is base Defense.
Chandelure: Hyper Beam, Flamethrower, Shadow Ball, and Pain Split.
First off, I have to say I'm upset at how Litwick or Lampent can not learn Hypnosis. By TM, they can learn Dream Eater, but it's useless without Hypnosis. So much for the description of "hypnotizing enemies with its flames."
Anyway, Hyper Beam because of having the highest Sp. Atk of all non-legendary Pokemon.
Pain Split will help recover any damage during recharge or typical battling.
Flamethrower as it is 95 Sp. Atk with 15 PP. Inferno has 50% accuracy, so no. Overheat is 140 Sp. Atk, but only has 5 PP. Oh, and I'm not big on the whole reduces Sp. Atk by two stages! Sure Chandelure has the highest Sp. Atk, but I would like to keep it that way.
Shadow Ball because it's the strongest Ghost-type attack you'll have... Well, Hex technically is as it'll go 100 Sp. Atk if the opponent has a status problem. However, I would be removing Will-O-Wisp in favor of Pain Split. Besides, Hex would be a two-part attack if I went ahead with that strategy. It's fine against average computer players, but higher leveled Trainers and humans won't give you much room to string an average combo.
So yeah, going with a 80 Sp. Atk move over the (potential) 100 Sp. Atk move.
