  1. I'm cool with gag teams from time to time, but honestly it has got to be a character that works well with the map. I had a game tonight where the team wanted to be all Pharah, but it the Ilios map where the point is in the small building. Also I will not commit to all Hanzos. You're barely ever going to win even if the hitboxes are forgiving. Just takes a few beefy characters to get up and annihilate you.
  2. Joseph Joestar is possibly my favorite Jojo, so I believe that's what makes me enjoy Battle Tendency as much as I do. The Pillar Men are a different type of evil, the kind where they're simply elitist and the rest is the fear of how advanced/evolved they are compared to humans. Eventually, and I'll put this into Part 2 spoilers:
  3. Blink is limited to horizontal movement. I initially had hoped it would be like Blink in Destiny where your line of sight is the direction you move. However, if you play Tracer, you'll understand why she's limited to just the x-axis. Given the fast-paced nature of her abilities, ending up sightly in-air would be a common occurrence. Also, one can use all three charges rapidly to cover great distances. Having Tracer catapult herself into the air becomes unbalanced as then you have a character that's zigzagging in midair. She's already mobile simply running on the ground. I played a few matches this evening and I guess there were two well-known streamers on my team. I didn't know until Chat was gushing about them. Still haven't heard of them, but I'm not someone who jumps onto Twitch or knows all the pro Overwatch players.
  4. Dear lord, I booted up Borderlands Pre-Sequel and the game defaulted to low settings on my PC. Good thing GeForce Experience recognized the game and maxed everything out.

  5. So I did end up buying Borderlands The Pre-Sequel before the Summer Sale ended. Can't play it just yet. I was considering Firewatch as it is a chill type of game. My main concern is that it's a 6 hour adventure that you do once and done. The temptation to just watch it is there, but part of the experience is to interact with it yourself.
  6. Before the Steam Summer Sale ends, I've been eyeing Borderlands The Pre-Sequel. Borderlands 2 was fun, but I didn't get as much enjoyment as I was alone 99% of the time on PS3. When the Pre-Sequel came out, I was of a "oh, uh yeah" mindset.

Yeah, I forced myself to finish BL2, but without people it kinda sucks a chunk, especially second wind mechanic.

I thought some of us played Pre-Sequel, so I'm wondering if it would be worth $20 for everything if I'm going to be solo for everything.

    3. Strangelove

      Strangelove

I've played both 2 and Presequel solo and love the shit out of them. So by that metric chances are you'll only enjoy Presequel as much as you enjoyed 2. They're extremely similar. It almost feels like a big expansion of 2.

  7. Viz Media is releasing Jojo Part 1 and 2 on Blu-ray. Oh, and Part 3 is getting its English Dub finally having those test episodes for the last eternity. I would link, but I'm on mobile. Everything's coming up Jojo! (Edit for some mobile auto-correct.)
  8. I'm not even going to attempt Competitive. I don't have the time to bother with the Ranking system and I don't have the patience to deal with self-imposed leaders micromanaging the team because their family's honor is on the line. I know that wouldn't be the case each time, but I much prefer Overwatch as a jump-in, have fun with your group of characters, and maybe have a laugh or two.
  9. I'm kinda butthurt that Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven is a digital-only game in the United States. Just released today, and while it includes all the DLC, I haven't had to pay full price in a long time. Amazon Prime discount only works on physical games, so while you can get a PSN download code, it's still full price. I know this is about a game rather than the show, but any type of Jojo love in the US is rare.
  10. Just had this really freaky glitch with Chrome on the forums just now. If I wanted to view the last post of a topic, it would close Chrome. I cleared cache and that fixed it, but super weird Chrome would just crap itself from a simple script.

Bro why aren't you using the best browser... Safari?

  11. I got Payday 2 because some fellas at work said they play it and want me to join since I'll be away. GOTY Edition was $12.50, so okay.
  12. When I posted the Parasyte one I read it as though you had just finished it, but looking back I see now you were finishing it. I do apologize on that and wish I read the post better.. For Jojo, I'm not sure how it's a spoiler as that's just how a character describes how people would explain Stands. As far as actual characteristics of a Stand and the loose guidelines of what one can do, that you'll have to watch to find out. I haven't played Persona, so I'm not sure how the two compare, so that's why I felt compelled to mention the rough explanation given in the first episode and if it relates to the prior comparison given to you. I do truly feel bad now and truthfully I've spent about 40 minutes making sure I'm phrasing this post very generically. Going back and rephrasing and changing my wording, etc. All I think I can say is once you've watched how bizarre the show gets, all the crazy and varying shenanigans make it hard to pinpoint to the new viewer what they'll be watching for even the first couple episodes. I've explained this to others as such before, so I do apologize again if my wording has revealed more than intended. I also wanted to suggest how far into the show you can determine if you'll like it as 48 episodes is a commitment. However, I will leave that for you to determine so as not to create an expectation of plot and character.
  13. The gist of a Stand is basically the personification of one's own innate supernatural ability. In the first episode of Stardust Crusaders, a character explains that Stands are what people have referred to as ESP. Honestly that's just a statement that helps the viewer understand the perspective normal humans have to Stands, in that Stands are unseen forces to those without their own Stand. So it looks like a guy is standing there while prison bars are torn open, or there's an increase to the room's temperature without any visible flames or heat source. You have to imagine how strange Stand battles must appear to the common person as two men are receiving cuts and being flung across the road. Of course, there are Stands that have a more visible effect on the world, but I feel like if I went further with an example, it would spoil the fun.
  14. Tracer's ult is one of the fastest, so it's not truly meant to be this grand "quad kill" ult like a few others. It has the chance, like when Zarya launches her ult which group the enemy in a nice bundle. I mainly use it to take out Bastions, turrets, and if there are enough opponents on the point, it can clear one or two of them. I do take issue with Hanzo's hitboxes. Once I was a Junkrat who was, and I'm not exaggerating, carrying the team at the final payload checkpoint on Route 66. I honestly don't see the problem with Junkrat BTW, other than sometimes you can't escape his passive. Anyway, it was the final seconds of the match and I have my Rip Tire. The idea is to get as many of the opponents to group up behind the payload and then clear them out so that in Overtime they can't make it in time to Contest. I get behind one of the pillars and I'm about to press Q when I suddenly end up dead. Killcam shows a Hanzo shooting into the group of my teammates and his arrows flies past the pillar I was behind. You could only make out my leg and hair, but somehow the Hanzo's arrow connected. Well okay, no big deal I'll just run out there with my ult after the 7 second respawn . In those 7 seconds, my team fell apart and the opposing team pushed the remaining distance.
  15. If you're on Crunchyroll, and you haven't tried it yet, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. The first two parts of the manga series make up an entire season, so it's very straightforward. If you end up liking what you're watching, then you can watch the 48 episodes of Part 3 Stardust Crusaders. Parasyte: The Maxim was surprisingly alright for what I expected. When it first aired on Toonami, I went and watched the whole thing on Hulu. THe main gripe I have about it is that there was too much focus on the main character being "not himself" anymore. He would internally struggle with it, his girlfriend would always get upset about it. Cool on-the-edge developments sure, but that was mainly coming from the side characters and main protag boy was just there for the ride near the end. At least he still has a hot GF. EDIT: Oh yeah, and on One Piece. Man, if you ever take a break from that series, the time flies and you end up with 100 chapters to catch up on. Considering it's dialog heavy at times, it's not an easy feat like say Bleach where 9 pages are just dudes swinging swords and BS abilities.
  16. I saw on Reddit that the credits run for 4 hours because it lists every Kickstarter backer. Like, what kind of drugs were involved in the development that someone approved this idea?
  17. I got The Evil Within something like almost 1.5 years ago and never touched it. I'm trying to go through some backlog to justify getting any new games in the future. Eh, it's alright so far. It isn't as polished as I would hope and while it definitely plays off a RE4 formula, it also feels clunky. I suspect part of it is intentional, but also some of the in-game models and actions wigging out. Can't say I'm drawn to finishing right away.
  18. I forgot about the game and would only remember its existence when there was news online informing the public of another delay. It's a good thing I'm not that big of a Mega Man fan.
  19. Well, one thing you have to remember is that the only Legendary items in Overwatch are the Legendary Skins. So while a character might have 4 Legendary Skins versus 2 Epic Skins, a character's Emotes and Highlight Intros are also Epic items. That effectively gives a character 8 Epic items and 4 Legendary items. So yes, Legendary are the rarest give that they're only skins or 500 currency. And here's hoping you are not so unlucky to get a Legendary duplicate for 200 currency.
  20. I agree, so like when (in the demo) you've figured out the secret lever in the fireplace, the majority of people thought they could shortcut the game, but it turns out it leads to an alternate outcome because you find the missing fuse rather than backdoor key. However, after the third (or fourth) run, there isn't anything else that leads itself to the possibility of a different outcome. Just Mr. Family Man punching you in the face again. People have been trying volume levels, audio settings, hitting nearly every object in the game with the axe item. Hell, people thought the flickering lamp was giving players a message in Morse Code, but that wasn't the case. If anything, players have been play testing the game because some of the "secrets" found are actually just bugs.
  21. It's intended to be played multiple times, similar to the repeating runs through PT's hallway. Even so, the demo isn't as intuitive or revolutionary as PT. It was interesting, though I can't say it has me excited for a RE7. Even in the multiple runs and the differences you will experience, dedicated players haven't been able to find any additional secrets that would lead to a "true" ending to the demo much like how PT had its big reveal that it was for "Silent Hills." There were Capcom reps at E3 who said otherwise, but it's not uncommon for them to be misinformed or simply create a buzz in having people fixate on something nonexistent. And if there is something? That's pretty ass to have people dedicate days in figuring out an obscure method of playing this demo.
  22. You're going to have to get lucky with your Epic and Legendary drops being currency. Epic is 150 and Legendary is 500. Relying on duplicates, you get 5 for Common, 15 for Rare, 50 for Epic, and 200 for Legendary. Also, anyone on PC trying the Public Test patch? Nothing is saved though, so really you're playing just for the sake of testing.
  23. One night after getting four Loot Boxes with 3 Commons and 1 Rare, I said screw it and threw $10 at 11 Loot Boxes. I got so many Epic and Legendary items that I felt satisfied. However, leveling up still yielded lackluster Loot Boxes. So after a little while I justified buying some more Loot Boxes. There was maybe two cool items out of 5 Loot Boxes. I thought crap, let me try another 5 Loot Boxes because I got such good items my first time. No, just no. So word to the wise, once you reach a certain amount of items, you're going to be getting duplicates much more often and in-game currency value for duplicates is ridiculously low if you plan on getting even Epic items. If you've got some spare cash, try 5-10 boxes, but don't go further than that because the drop rate seems to take a drastic downturn.
  24. She's suppose to be the agile Offense character that gets into the opposing team's point and essentially create chaos. I've heard the term "rash" used for such a character. But as I mentioned, after all the hours people are playing, I think it's getting hard to be an effective Tracer. She can't truly eliminate someone unless she's close quarters. She's 150 HP though, so you have to make sure you're using Blink and Rewind if you plan on taking on even a single opponent. I've seen many a Tracer who thinks they can get Multi Kills by themselves and get immediately slaughter by a single Reaper or McCree. I've had great moments with her, especially when getting behind enemy lines. But now almost every character has a viable method of fending you away from the capture point. They know if you Blink, you're either running away or you've merely ran behind them. If you used Rewind, you must be close by unless, as Tracer, you Blinked three times to the location. In that case, you won't be back for a little while and they'll continue holding the point (or capturing).
  25. So I've reconsidered some of my main characters for the different classes. I use to like playing as Mercy in Support, but playing solo can be a challenge because it can be like babysitting ADHD children who want to run off by themselves. Mercy works better in a group because she can easily fly to her different teammates for healing and damage buff. Once people start breaking off, you have to decide who to stick with and if they'll understand they need to be your guardian. It's not impossible to get kills as Mercy, it's just not desirable. I was terrible with him as first, but now I role Zenyatta. If the team needs a Support and we're attacking, I pick him. Sometimes on Defend, but most times I'll pick Lucio for Defend. If the team is good, we should all be close together and the passive healing will be of greater benefit. For Offense, I've had better results with Soldier 76 than Tracer. I think part of the problem is that people are getting wise to Tracer and her limitations. I feels more like you're mainly playing distraction than actually being a viable threat to the opposing team. Take Soldier 76, a simple Offense character with good range, a AoE health ability for you and your teammates, and rockets that can take care of 200 HP characters much faster. He can Sprint without any cooldown, so maybe while not as fast and versatile as Tracer's Blink, he can still get to the action quickly. Not to mention if you find the right moment, his Tactical Visor can make for a great Triple or Quad Kill.
