  1. Sonic the Hedgehog Not sure what else I can add that Mister Jack hasn't said. I guess the one thing that bugs me is that Sonic is like The Flash fast or goes into the Quicksilver superspeed space where everything is nearly motionless. It's already such massive power, it's hard to believe he would need someone's help to find San Fran and get there. Follow the coast and you would be there.
  2. I got my S6 when the S7 was getting hyped up, so all that hype helped discount the S6 a little. Not a whole lot mind you, but I fully agree on getting the model behind the brand new one. The only downside I have for staying on an S9 is the OS version updates come after the more recent models.
  3. I would do my best to remain neutral about his death. He sounded like a scumbag, but it's a slippery slope when you mix gratification with death. But like I said, neutral because I wouldn't have any pity or sadness for him aside from any affected family. It wasn't just money he took, but also trust and respect.
  4. Byleth in Smash is so good. Maybe I should give Three Houses a shot. ?
  5. I'm playing through Resident Evil 2 (2019) and this tripped me up three times last night. Examining items to use them... When used in a puzzle, I don't have a problem. But when I receive an item and I essentially have to examine it to open a box, it feels so unnecessary. It's like an extra step in using the inventory menu. Admittedly I'm a little sour about this because I didn't see the switch on the jeweled scepter until I was in the sewers. This releases the jewel which combined with the jewelry box opens it and you get a S.T.A.R.S badge. Examine that and it becomes a USB. That USB can be used to open a locker area to get a powerful weapon. All because I didn't rotate the scepter properly the first time I looked at it. Thankfully I'll have a chance to go back to the police station, but that won't be for a while...
  6. On the question of series and growing up, pretty much what Ethan was saying. Though I would also say that belonging to a certain genre or medium would instill a certain expectation/parameter. I would say a series like Harry Potter still falls under Young Adult, so it's approachable by both those younger and older, much like you see in Shonen anime and manga. But something like Pokemon? To me that will always maintain what I call the "Disney Factor." It's going to always be approachable for children, maintain itself in a child-friendly demeanor, and profit the most off of children. Doesn't mean as an adult you can't enjoy it, but don't expect complex stories on adult themes.
  7. I might do the same! Ironic, I've got the "Split Pro" controller themed after the game for Switch, but not the game itself. Granted the controller is a great addition to anyone's Switch accessories.
  8. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order I got the Platinum for the game, which isn't terribly hard, but requires endurance in trekking back to areas deep in a planet's map in a game with NO fast travel. Most times it's manageable, but Dathomir is a pain to backtrack if it requires going down to the lower swamp areas. Some trophies you'd think you'd get naturally, but the game can be cryptic. Like there's a giant toad enemy where you can cut off its tongue. Most people, including me, assumed this meant slowing down the toad when its tongue was out and slashing it with your lightsaber. That doesn't work. Instead, you just need to force pull the toad and his tongue pops off. Another is where this goat enemy is suppose to kick you and you kick back. However, most engagements the goat creature is always facing you. The only reliable way of getting behind the goat is after it charges and you hug its ass for the kick. Oh, and you can dodge the kick, just dodge one of his headbutts and kick and the trophy is yours. But that's all I have to complain about. The rest of the game is fun and challenging on Jedi Master difficulty. It's no Sekiro, but it's most certainly a positive addition to the Star Wars game library. All of the main characters are memorable, especially I went with a yellow kyber crystal since there wasn't a white one. I'll see about getting a screenshot of my final lightsaber. Most chests were simple enough to find if you desired to search, but some secrets and chests were super involved.
  9. Season 7 is going to be soooooo good. And there's a brief cameo of padawan Kanan Jarrus with his master! ?
  10. I've been trying to play Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order for a while now. I keep getting older and finding less time to play games. ? Some wonky physics here and there, but overall I enjoy it. The story is engaging, though sometimes the gameplay can be frustrating. The hybridization of Dark Souls and Uncharted to essentially make a sci-fi Sekiro does seem lacking at points. I am playing on Jedi Master difficulty, so there's definitely a challenge with the damage you receive compared to the normal difficulty. I also should have gone to Bogano a bit more because I just got two Stims that I could have used on the Ninth Sister boss fight. Also, the "premium" content is now available to all, so I've got an orange lightsaber using some of the premium parts. Orange isn't my favorite, but I've been rocking a green lightsaber for the majority of the game so far.
  11. I agree that the first half of the year is too packed, so I'm okay with the delay. It'll be a very happy birthday for me!
  12. I like it, but obviously there's still sour grapes in the Pokemon fandom about the very nature of Sword and Shield. I'm actually close to finishing the Galar Pokedex, so this'll spark life in the game.
  13. Bloodborne is also my favorite of the FromSoftware games, or I should say "Soulsborne" since they've done other stuff. The only thing I didn't like was farming for blood vials if a particular boss happened to be challenging and exhausting your resource. Ebrietas, Daughter of the Cosmos... Still wish I had saved the recording of a fight with Father Gascoigne. Parried him a few times in a row, thinking I was going to win, and then my first time seeing and I see the words "Bloodborne."
  14. I'd agree Ethan, but the controls do pop off like Joy-Cons and have their own controller grip. I'm not sure to what extent Nintendo's patents reach, but it's very obvious the thing is Switch styled PC.
  15. I can't really decide what my Game of the Year would be. So many scratch a different itch I've had. I haven't even gotten to some I know I would enjoy... I do know I've loved playing Monster Hunter World: Iceborne for many hours this year, though I do feel like giving recognition to new games like Control and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Heck, I need to get around to Resident Evil 2, but I guess that's for 2020. ? And Death Stranding has that bangin' soundtrack. Haven't finished that one though...
  16. Agreed Dean. I don't believe for a second there wasn't a better way of continuing off of The Last Jedi. Hell, we already had the internal conflict between Kylo Ren and Hux that could have been the linchpin for the First Order's eventual downfall. I've never called any director a hack before, but after this film, Abrams has claimed that honor. Abrams wasn't forced into doing this film, and if anything, most likely knew he couldn't make an acceptable third movie with no plan. So he panders to angry fans and loads this movie with so much fan service, it's kind of insulting. Maybe that was Kathleen Kennedy's prodding and the guarantee that there's still good money to be had in making a Star Wars film. Now people are wanting to know what Colin Trevorrow had in mind for the final film. I feel like, poetically, that emphasizes the fault of this sequel trilogy. It's not the fault of single person, but a cluster of failings that couldn't be arsed to course correct. I'm okay with The Force Awakens and I like The Last Jedi, but Rise of Skywalker does not sit well with me. It's not worse than the prequels, but it feels almost like how I left Revenge of the Sith back then: Indifferent. Thank goodness we have The Mandalorian. Also, catching up on some Star Wars books helps remind me why I still come back.
  17. Yep, the Safi'jiiva Siege is amazing. You're guaranteed a Safi weapon of the one you're using, and then it's a mix of other weapons. There aren't a vast variety of stats of the same weapon aside from the element/status and initial skill. The latter can be changed anyway, so it comes down to the former. The Awakening process is where you will randomly acquire additional skills, and if none suit your need, you store the "potential" and you'll more likely get an upgraded skill or a more rare skill. I personally need to find more time to get back into the siege because I need the whole armor set.
  18. I can't say I'm genuinely surprised since I've never been fond of Abrams coming back. From what I've gathered without spoiling too much, it's a film that can't be bothered telling an actual story and instead wants to deliver fan service along with a menagerie of characters substituting genuine development. A kind of, "Abrams, get back here and quell the angry fans by jangling your keys!" There are people convinced that critics are wrong because of TLJ critic scores in the past. Alternatively, if somehow the movie is actually terrible, then it's Rian Johnson's fault. "It was too much of a mess to recover from!" My ass, that's Grade A loserthink that somehow Abrams and staff couldn't be assed to make a working plot with the characters, powers, and money of the Star Wars franchise.
  19. I get what they're wanting to do, but the naming has been completely unconventional. Microsoft and Sony have a product line while Nintendo has the ability of using their company name with their hardware. Thus we get names like Nintendo 64, Nintendo GameCube, Nintendo Wii, and etc. Sony kept it simple and went with logical numeration. Microsoft, or more so the Xbox division, wanted both and that has turned into a cluster. Xbox 360 was just fine, but going to One, that started this mess. Because "one" is so ambiguous in English, it could get confusing for consumers. Then tacking on S and X for different models, it's like Xbox wants to have a naming convention, but it's limited to specific consonants. After all, the new console is Xbox Series X, or Xbox SX for short. Heaven forbid they do a revision or new edition: Xbox Series XR Digital!
  20. I didn't always rent games, but when I did, it was through Redbox. So convenient, but at the same time I suspect renting games might not be done nearly as much as it was when I was younger. Just viewing people's thoughts and opinions online on recent games, the debates mostly come down to "Do I want to spend the time?" Kinda like "love it or leave it," I think people try to get all the information they can first and decide if they want to spend the time on the game. Not to mention some games take so much time to complete or that they're continually getting new content, you're not really getting the same "experience" as others. That or Redbox is tired of investing in games and people stealing them with paper cutouts. Movies are a much cheaper investment and people are more inclined to rent a movie as it has a specific timeframe for consumption.
  21. Even with all the new games this year, Monster Hunter World: Iceborne still hits it out of the park with all these fantastic updates and events. The Safi'jiiva Siege is looking SO GOOD!

  22. You can watch all of Clone Wars on Disney+. ? It's what I'm doing, mainly because I haven't watched it in years. I've been listening to the audiobook version of Star Wars: Ahsoka, which has Ashley Eckstein (Ahsoka's VA) as the narrator. It's so great that I've been craving that sweet non-film prequel content. After all, Clone Wars Season 7 is coming soon. (I think Feb 2020, right?)
  23. Part 4 is also my personal favorite. For a while I didn't know because Part 2 and Part 3 have excellent moments, but in the end I think it was the characters, setting, antagonist(s) that won me over to Part 4.
  24. When you updated the driver, was it through Windows Update or with the drivers from HP's support site? Granted the driver hasn't been updated in four years, so it's possible after subsequent Windows 10 updates that the driver is no longer compatible/recognized. Looking at it, I recognized the model and it's one of those "under $99" models that never really last; through function or support. Quite literally people will buy the printer once more to get more ink because it's cheaper than the ink cartridges. Sure they're sample cartridges, but those same people probably don't print as often. If your father doesn't print in color, I almost always recommend a laser printer. It might be a high expense at first compared to inkjet, but the cost per page is cheaper. Most importantly, toner doesn't dry up and only goes bad if it's exposed to high humidity.
  25. The Cybertruck, designed by vintage 90's graphic artists working on their latest N64 game.

    1. Mal

      Mal

I'm actually kind of down for an electric pick-up truck... If I get a cybertruck then I'll need to deck it out as cyberpunk as possible.

Or I make it like some sort of Warthog...
