  1. I haven't noticed anything about race, but because there's the political/religious element to it, I've seen the typical Internet response. But like others have said, even if it may have been horrendously terrible, offensive, and downright repulsive, no one deserves death (especially the innocent among them) no matter what justification you may surmise from the who, what, when, where, and why.
  2. I would argue that the default Up For Anything auto rifle is a good vendor auto rifle because its perks compensate the auto rifle weakness of range. I bought the default as my first updated auto rifle, so I have the experience with it. That said, having two perks to compensate one weakness left myself wanting more from a Legendary. When Bungie gave everyone a Legendary Engram, mine turned into this: It's not as awesome as I had hoped for in Crucible, but it's great for PvE. I also have a great randomized scout rifle as of late, but haven't gotten it up there with its perks yet. EDIT: Forgot, it has Field Scout, a.k.a. More Ammo Capacity, which bumps it up to 56. In PvE I use that perk to fully utilize Crowd Control on computer enemies. If I take it into PvP, I choose the enhanced stability perk.
  3. I have a new work schedule were I work really early mornings and clock out early afternoon. The thrill of having daylight left in your day, but the crushing fact you have to go to bed early like a child.

There's actually research showing that mixed shifts like that is detrimental to one's health in the long term. Like increases chances of cancer and dementia hugely. I need to look it up - it's worth my partner appealing to her work to change it

Read, I've read the reports on the matter and it does strike me as a bit of a 2well duh". You certainly feel it. Summer breaks are fine for it I guess, but not long term.

Yeah, my last job had me doing something similar with ridiculous hours. I can definitely attest to the dementia aspect of it. I'm fairly young for that sort of thing, but I could notice that my brain was just shot. I've recovered quite a bit these last few months, but it can definitely take a toll on you.

  4. Returned both GameCube controllers I got in the GameStop bundle (as they were individually listed) seeing as how I only needed (a.k.a. really wanted) the controller adapter. Got store credit back, spent it all on Far Cry 4. Unfortunately, it must take a backseat to three other games as I still haven't gotten around to my holiday backlog.
  5. Technically I think you could always return the two controllers and keep the adapter as it appears to be bundled separate items. When checking out that's how it appeared, but once they arrive sometime next week I can always confirm. I plan on returning one of the controllers because I was able to purchase the Japan exclusive white Smash Edition controller for its actual retail value and not some inflated import price. Then again if someone I know needs/wants it, I probably would gift it to them.
  6. Lately I've been watching animated TV shows I either missed out on or didn't think were worth watching (at first). Green Lantern: The Animated Series was very good and focused on the only thing that I've cared about in Green Lantern. All the different groups and the powers of the Emotional Spectrum. It entertained me and none of the characters annoyed me. The relationship stuff got a bit heavy handed near the end, but it was still fine. Young Justice Season 1 I've finished on Netflix and I've ordered the Season 2 Blu-ray off Amazon. Again, never gave it much thought, but even with some odd moments, it's actually as good as the praise thrown at it. Well, as far as I've seen and with its cancellation I know Season 2 will unfortunately leave a thing or two unfinished. Last, I watched Over the Garden Wall. I got bored one night and saw a video about it on YouTube. The commercials that aired before on TV made it seem like some whimsical ol' timey Adventure Time, which didn't appeal to me. It's far more than that and has more character and story than Adventure Time has had in years. Well worth owning in HD for $10.
  7. Not really a deal, but probably the only reasonable way of purchasing the GameCube Controller Adapter. http://www.gamestop.com/wii-u/accessories/wii-u-gamecube-adapter-w-2-wii-u-gamecube-controllers/119615 Bundle of two GameCube controllers and adapter. Before this bundle you either had to buy a bundle with four controllers and the adapter ($140), or buy Smash Bros. (again), a controller and adapter bundle ($110). Oh, and don't forget GameStop charges sales tax and handling fees. I'll have a full set of controllers now with two old GCN era controllers and two new Smash Edition controllers.

@Baconrath: That officially makes it Christmas!

  9. It's a damn good movie and it has a new twist in the Disney formula. Argo, huge hit that's easy to market towards girls. Kind of ironic given that the movie had very little marketing for its debut. Like, no one knew what exactly the movie was about at first.
  10. While browsing Facebook, I saw an article linked to a friend about another possibility in this North Korea vs. Sony Pictures business. http://www.vox.com/2014/12/19/7421535/the-real-reason-north-korea-would-hack-sony-its-not-the-interview TL;DR North Korea is that wimpy malnourished kid who, when feeling vulnerable, grabs the nearest bug, eats half of it and throws the other half at you. As you're in a state of bewilderment, North Korea yells out, "I'm k-k-k-kraaaaaaazy with a capital K!" Damn, I guess the rumors are true and I best avoid this krazy kid.
  11. Confirmation It was planned for a bit (a relief because it looked "for the fans"), though in the future I hope that creative minds will be allowed more opened imagery because it seemed outta left field for main characters. At least in my opinion, but half the battle is at least having it happen and I'm a rather picky fellow when given couples in media. TL;DR I'm still a lil' bothered at what feels half-baked, though I understand why and feel some relief from the explanation.
  12. What Ethan said. The only culprits I can imagine going through all this trouble are either North Korea or perhaps a group in South Korea worried that our actions would make North Korea hostile. So long as you're not in the camp that still suspects Sony Pictures is promoting the movie with this nonsense, you can surmise whomever you please. I just happen to lose a bit of my soul whenever I see crackpot theories on how this is all about increasing sales of a Seth Rogen and James Franco comedy.
  13. I've had the PlayStation Gold Headset for a long time and it's real good. Definitely comfortable and sound good for the asking price. I recently saw a PlayStation Silver Headset which is typically $30 cheaper. It's wired and the build is noticeably cheaper where complaints mention the material used for the ear pieces. http://amzn.com/B00NE5D4SS However, if you can see yourself spending the extra money, I still highly recommend the Gold version because it truly is a great headset that works with current PlayStation platforms and PC.
  14. Serious Answer: The End Like the series finale for The Last Airbender when Aang and Katara are kissing and it pans up to those same characters with "The End" below it. Surprised they didn't include it again, but whatever.
  15. I'm of the camp that felt it... I appreciate what feels like Bryke giving back to the fans for their continued support in the face of Nick's treatment of the show, but I can't help feeling like I'm getting the last cookie in the jar. I don't mean to bite the hand that feeds me this amazing series, but damn if I can't help seeing the effect Nick's budget cuts had in Book 4. Like, after I watched it a second time (with others), I noticed quite a few characters were especially mute. Bumi, Ikki, Jinora, and Kai were present, but didn't say one word. Everything was still animated beautifully, but perhaps there wasn't much left for the extra trimmings.
  16. Trying to watch the Legend of Korra series finale and Nick's video player is still buggy as all hell. I'll have to wait till Amazon gets it, but I kinda know the ending now.

i'm part of Korra thread on neoGAF, I had to close the thread because I thought I would have to wait for Amazon. It's a decent finale, but eh only made me realize how I liked AtLA more.

  17. This is going to be a strange question, but how do you guys go about lunch in your daily work life? I've gotten fed up with eating around town when it comes to work. I try to bring something from home, but I tend to make the same stuff and that gets boring. At the same time, while fast food can give you variety, it tends to be crap in the end and a few places I've straight up stop going because I've gotten sick from the food. Again, strange question but also straight forward.
  18. Filthy fucking casual Take a guy to dinner first if ya want to talk dirty. Otherwise, I've read about game and it still seems like Minecraft in Space. Personally I'm tired of resource farming after playing games with the mechanic the last few years. Perhaps it will be more impressive than how it all sounds, but I would need to see it in action. I swear, if I see someone chopping a down a tree with a chopping ax, my mind is made up.
  19. Second time in a row I've ordered a replacement from Amazon just to have the lost item find its way home the next day.

  20. I also throw my hat into the "I don't get it" camp. Ditto to what Jack said, and everyone else's comment with Minecraft. Honestly, even if it was like Rust but on a more unified global environment where different regions had different sections of the same galaxy, that would be pretty cool. Still would need something to do, but at least there would be some significance to the planets other than "it's so big with the billions and billions we have!"
  21. I swear there was an "A" when looking at the vendors last night, so, uh... Anyway, yeah, you've got to rank up vendors to get armor or a weapon. Not bad for anyone who had some odd hundred points before ranking up, crap news for anyone who is 2300 points from the nearest Rank. I imagine you could still find new armor elsewhere, but from what I've read recently is that Engrams are still on the old loot RNG. Considering I still get tons of Rustburner for my Hunter, yeah. 640 Sapphire Wire and I hope Bungie gives us something to do with it in Endgame.
  22. They'll definitely need to figure out separate rotations now as there is a big hubbub around the new content taking center stage. Who else has The Dark Below? Kinda wished I hadn't ranked up the different vendors before quitting until the expansion given the new commendation system. Not a big deal however because the normal difficult is still Level 24-29 friendly. You'll still be able to buy the new gauntlets and boots for Marks, but chest pieces and helmets require a commendation. Also class items for Marks, but there are only really three different styles of cloak for my Hunter, even if they have different names.
  23. The only complaints I have for Wolfenstein: The New Order are that BJ feels a bit clunky and it's hard to keep an eye on your health. I like the regen for health, but I've run into a few times where my health was taking a deep drop before I realized all my armor was gone and I was at a 20-40 range. Three times I had to evade and shoot because I ended up with 20 health in a few seconds. Otherwise it's great fun, and like Jack is saying, it doesn't reinvent the wheel, but I would say it makes the FPS genre fun again. Also, I want to say the game doesn't take itself seriously, but it does a great job with presentation and cinematic scenes.
  24. My copy will be arriving tomorrow. I chose No Rush shipping because the truth is I haven't even finished 1.5, but I want to have Kingdom Hearts available ever since my ol' PS3 croaked for the third and final time.
  25. DeeJ commented in the subreddit that Engrams are now a sporadic occurrence in Xur's inventory. The Exotic Shard will be the consistent item each week. As for Public Events, I swear even the completion of Public Events is bugged because I haven't received nearly as many Shards or Energies as I use to after a successful Gold Tier rating.
