  1. oh lord the grappling in Origins sucks. I was doing the Deadshot crime scene investigation, so at one point you have to get back up to the tower where it all starts. You can not just stand underneath the tower. You have to go to a specific place that will recognize, "Hey, there's that one ledge!"
  2. I'm right-handed too, though I do some things the "left-handed" method. I guess taking out games/discs is another one of those too. Still, if a game is going to have a bit of paper material to it (which is rather rare these days), I would prefer pulling it all out spine first rather than multiple pages. That's a really, really, really minor detail overall.
  3. I'm putting my money towards the Zelda 3DS XL, because I can at least spend $200 this year, but not anything like a next-gen console. Have to say I'm really surprised that we even have deals on next-gen games, though maybe it helps that a quarter of the launch lineup is also on prior consoles.
  4. Actually, I think I might prefer that layout. Any folded material would have its spine exposed, thereby making it easier to pull out said material. As for the disc, I could use my thumb rather than pushing on the spindle with my index finger. Then again, all you have to do is flip the case 180 for either preference with the only discrepancy being what is considered "right side up."
  5. I'll admit, I did a little tearbending when watching the latest Legend of Korra. There's was also some bewilderment, quite a bit.

  6. TCP, tell me if this does anything for ya (FYI, not mine). http://i.imgur.com/dIBCRaX.jpg

My work uses those same pallets. Cheap as hell wood that I swear breaks apart 1 in 4 pallets, but whateva.

Well, all of this happened at the same time plastic pallets were starting to find their way into the marketplace. The price plunge pretty much wiped out the amount of plastic pallets that entered the market, as they were at a much higher price (I remember $20 per vs #2 GMAs going for ~$6).

  7. All I remember about Star Wars in the 90's is when my family won free tickets to the "remastered" A New Hope in theaters through the Pepsi promotional contest. My father, being uber Type A cleanly as he is, threw them away because they were bottle caps with a code to redeem the tickets. That, and when Pepsi also did the character profiles for Phantom Menace on their 12 oz. cans, which at the time I thought was cool. I was also 12 and a huge nerd (only difference now is that I'm 25).
  8. After downloading and installing Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, I feel alright with never trying out digital distribution for the console. This 12GB download has taken me about 90 minutes to download, but is closing in on 30 minutes for installing. However, the PS4 definitely looks like it'll handle these things better, so there's that to look forward too.

Well the game wasn't on PS+ until yesterday, so a little hard to download and install it before then.

^So play or do something else in the mean time. This isn't difficult. Jeez, do people stand in front of your washing machines while you wait for your clothes to finish?

You mean you're not supposed to do that?

In seriousness, I've been in the situation waiting for something like that to download and install where I'm not literally sitting there staring at it, but I am just doing things to kill time rather than because I actually want/need to do them.

  9. But on a serious note, I guess the Varrick subplot could conclude this season. I was reading through some stuff and fans brought up how each season is suppose to be self-encapsulating as far as story, so nothing carries over. In truth, all Varrick is is a greedy entrepreneur who is taking advantage of the seedier elements of Republic City. One of the future episode descriptions states... If you take care of him, there shouldn't be anything else involving Republic City. Just it seems like the smallest of subplots we could ever see in Legend of Korra. The contrast between a cosmic event of 10,000 years which decides the fate of good and evil for humans and spirits versus... The Woes of Mako in the Precarious Case of Varrick. Maybe we'll get luck and Mako will become Batman and Varrick can be his Joker.
  10. Been waiting for Dark Arisen. Now I can finally "upgrade" my original copy free of charge. Don't know when I'll have the time to play it. It's an RPG you tend to sink hours into, so it made a great summer title.
  11. I'm hoping the Mako-Asami relationship stops right now. At least at this point you could still write it off as a rebound moment. Asami's life nearly went down the drain and the only positive she had was Mako's presence. Mako broke up with Korra and his brother is becoming famous, thus Bolin has something to rub in Mako's face when Mako wants to have the smallest of conversations with him. Why should that matter to him? Because when he was a cop, he had weasel coworkers and a boss who seemed to hate anything he did. They really only have each other now, and because of their past, it's giving Asami nostalgia and Mako some peace of mind. The only thing I remember about Book 3 (it is being worked on) is that there were some stills of Asami in what looked like Tenzin's home with the airbender kids. I can't imagine Asami's life getting completed ruined, however I'm beginning to think people's suspicions of the Varrick and Republic City story arc will carry over into the next season. Harmonic Convergence seems way more important than a greedy (yet funny) entrepreneur and Mako in jail. I can see it now... Korra and Tenzin's entire family return to Republic City. Everything looks normal, though there seems to be... Bolin?! His half-naked figure plastered on building sides advertising Nuktuk 17: Hell Thawed. Korra walks the street she left behind only a few months, but to her surprise she finds another familiar face. It's Asami, turning tricks just to make ends meet. She rushes over, and there she learns that Mako has been jailed and will soon face the electric chair. Skip forward to episode nine, where Korra and a fugitive Mako find Bolin face down in a pile of cocaine and dead hookers. They turn him over, but all he can muster is "Ginger" before passing away. Before the two of them can mourn Bolin's death, Varrick steps out of the bathroom shocked not only at the presence of Korra and Mako, but that he forgot his pants.
  12. Sure there is, I was just getting at that you could more easily jump back into Revengence versus, say, Metal Gear Solid 4 where you're dedicating yourself to another extended campaign. I'm a fan of the series, but I'm not really one to jump right back in. Maybe give it some time and try a different approach. I know there are others who can see themselves dedicating 80-100 hours to getting all the different titles and achieving a quicker completion time.
  13. I want to believe Lin has a ploy, especially since she does know Mako. I mean, we're talking about a lady who busted him and his brother out of jail and helped to invade the Equalist headquarters because, "Korra just gotta be there."
  14. I read (Avatar: The Last Airbender) The Search Part 3 tonight. Simply: THE FEELS!

I'm glad it wrapped up the stuff I was interested in. Now I don't need to keep buying the new ones.

  15. I fought Bane three times to see if there was anything I was missing, because the first time I thought I did terribly, the second time I did great. The reason I did it a third time is because I wasn't fully paying attention to the game and You-Know-Who was punching me You-Know-Where. So the third time I knew how to fight Bane, but his charging attack kept locking me into a corner. It was awful, but I beat him. Even if combat isn't as bad as I'm seeing it, most of the boss battles have been half-assed. Like, it was cool to fight Deathstroke, but... I'm about to face Firefly, so hopefully it's a bit better.
  16. Yeah, but there was replay value to it in the sense you could hop back in, take on the higher difficulties, and VR missions. Of course, only if you were into the game, so if not, then it was definitely a 5-8 hour experience. The DLC was cool, but a bit overpriced (even as a fan).
  17. There's another patch for my PS3 copy right now, so I'm hoping it fixes some issues. Last night I was getting stuck in level geometry and the Deadshot side mission confirmed to me that the enemy AI is very mediocre. As far as combat, Asylum is better than this game. I can go ahead and pop it back in if need be, but this is coming from a guy who Platinum'd the game. Right now, I'm going from states of "awesome" to "dammit" in Origins. Literally, I go from a S Rank Crime in Progress with a x63 streak to getting my ass kicked around by four guys because the countering is off either by stuttering or, what I'm beginning to see, enemy AI being buggy. I've had guys get stuck in cars and rooms running in place. I've actually learned that Ground Takedowns have a limited window in Origins and why they "aren't working." Still, I'm finding moments where Batman isn't locking to a specific enemy, like say one behind him holding a gun.
  18. Yo, guys, watch that Legend of Korra. Two week breaks tend to endow viewers with "What? That was on!"

Korra got better. And poor Tenzin.

  19. Wow, guys, there was a new Legend of Korra this/last week! It's up on Nick, though I had to disable AdBlock to get through the video as the video breaks for ads would stop the video. I'm really thinking my theory, that a few others had too, is possible accurate. I honestly can't see... Korra received amnesia therapy, thus she's now likeable and realizes her mistakes. I won't go into too much detail as I want you guys to watch the episode. Thing is, I'm getting upset by Mako and Asami right now. I know she's been through a lot, but...
  20. Every now and then I forget that sometimes your smartphone, when browsing online, can be vulnerable to malware. Last night I had a random pop-up list specifically what model of phone I had and stated I had a virus. I know better, but damn if I wouldn't doubt that's gotten a lot of people.

  21. It was my father's birthday today/tonight. He's the kind of guy who can get you a great gift, but when it comes to him, he doesn't want anything. Well, he's about to be a grandpa (not from me), so I thought he and my mother would like to be able to see "da babby" when it's in its room. We are talking about half across the States, and while they Skype, it's probably about once a week.
  22. I'm still somewhere in the 6.0 - 7.0 range. Last night I stopped playing after the gamr froze on me. About half the time the game won't register when I want to start gliding after fast traveling. It's a good thing you can't die from falling, or else I wouldn't bother with fast travel. Then the Mad Hatter segment would have been cool, except I was falling off the railing sections, which are objects Asylum and City that never allowed Batman to fall off. Then I respawn and I'm stuck in a corner scared that I'm stuck. Luckily the checkpoint resolved my issue. There are moments that begin to redeem the shortcomings, but the combat, no matter what, is borked. Countering has definitely been tweaked, and I'm not a fan of the multiple counter methods. I should not be having any trouble with a group of seven thugs. And has the Ultimate Stun worked for anyone else? The one where you swing your cape three times. You're suppose to use that to stun the larger enemies, but it never works for me.
  23. My estimate? If the PS4 is a huge success: February = Common, January = Uncommon, December = Good Luck If it does alright, then January.
  24. No, the DX dungeon is in the graveyard. As I remember it, you push one of the gravestones to find the entrance.
  25. Because I need an excuse to type more and it's 50% this week.
