  1. I'm liking how Rosalina is getting more attention as a character. Never played as Peach in Melee or Brawl, but Rosalina looks to play different so I'd like to try out her character.
  2. The Walking Dead Season 2, Episode 1 is today. Better replay the last episode first as my last playthrough was dorking around with options.

  3. 1. Face it, the price is never going down anytime soon. 2. I don't shop a lot at Best Buy, wanted to maintain Elite status, spent extra $50 on holiday shopping for myself.
  4. For realz: If you won an Xbox One, would you keep it for potential, or sell it now for a PS4?

already have a ps4. Don't really play it much, but I'd keep the xbox for later games.

  5. If I were to ever go to rehab for any addiction, it would be for eggnog. Give my a good brand and I'm a happy camper.

I drink Eggnog with and without alcohol. I've tried it with all kinds of liquors. It is loaded with calories though...but it is the time of year to gain 10 pounds lol

I'd prefer it virgin, but I have a pretty bad case of hypersensitivity when it comes to the taste of alcohol.

Could always do 1/10 alacohol to 9/10 eggnog...and drink a loooot of egg nog.

      I've never had it heated...

  6. That's how you know it's true art.
  7. You're 10,000 times better than I am, and I mean I would love to draw better in the near future. I understand the feeling of thinking one's material is not "professional;" I've even been told that directly by professionals. Now my life is somewhere else, a place I didn't think I would be. Thing is, it doesn't have to be that way. I had a roommate that told me to prove them wrong. In the end I chose a different program, but his conversation still had impact. Even if a few people tell you differently, you should take it as a challenge and not final judgement. The work you put in is still meaningful and from what I've seen here it's undeniable that you have true motivation and talent to get you to your goal. It's good to be humble, but don't underestimate your skills. It's what happened to me, and I'd hate to see someone settle for alright. Mastering any talent is a long and difficult road, but that adversity is only natural and necessary to arrive to a better place. In short: Keep doin' what ya doin' cause ya doin' it well!
  8. Maybe it won't be for everyone, because maybe it depends on prior choices, but we have a glimpse of Christa and Omid.
  9. Maybe if my work sold Skylanders and Disney Infinity, we could actually sell the damn figures. Multiple times I have adults looking at the figures, then I pretty much hand them off to Target to get the game, but Target has the same figures so they're not coming back.

  10. What Ethan said. Time frame, it's still an 8th Gen console, but based on platform it might as well still be in 7th Gen. Of course, we're still in a transitional period where some 7th Gen games are getting ported over into the next generation, and some Wii U versions slightly look/function better than the 360/PS3 version. Highly depends on the ones responsible, and I wouldn't doubt that some PS4/Xbone ports are essentially the Wii U version, sans GamePad functionality. As far as the GameCube's 22 million, I see it more as the success of Xbox's 24 million. In its small time frame, it gained that kind of penetration for the first console of an established company. Others had tried, but were terrible and pushed out by Sega, Nintendo, and eventually Sony too. Sega began to falter, so while technically present, it felt like the 5th and 6th Generation were predominately Sony and Nintendo. Enter Xbox, and it became a strong contender. Didn't hurt that it was prominently featured in a lot of media, and its online functionality was a highly marketable feature. If it weren't for a strong third force, I'd say the GameCube would have been closer to the Nintendo 64 figure. I'd hate to think what consoles would be like though without Xbox's presence because I wonder if the 7th generation would have had any kind of online service out of the box. The PlayStation 2 and GameCube had online, but it was entirely third party and the consoles required adapters for Internet connectivity.
  11. Because for all the faults of other Nintendo franchises, Smash Bros is still highly regarded, even for the gamers that didn't think Brawl lived up to the standards of Melee. Whenever there's a conversation about the Wii U, you're bound to see talk about how someone will wait until Smash Bros. We've seen it for other Nintendo games, but personally I see it far more often for Smash Bros, even before the game officially existed. Mom and Pop won't jump on the bandwagon, but for all the dedicated gamers that still fondly think of Smash Bros, it'll be motivation to buckle down and get a Wii U. However, while I ragged on the 3DS version, if that version can hold its own, perhaps we'll see people remain with only their 3DS. I wouldn't be surprised to see a dozen or two make that decision, but I'm doubtful it would be widespread.
  12. I don't like the "GameCube did shit" outlook. It's only a hindsight perspective from looking at the PS2, a console that stayed on the market for so much longer due to Sony properly supporting the console as a low income alternative for families who wanted the incredible catalog of cheap games and the few IPs that continued to be ported over to the platform in the middle of the next generation (of the time). It's what could be happening to the Wii now, but Nintendo isn't putting focus on it and allowing third parties and consumers to carry it on. It won't last as long as the PS2, but it's the current dilemma we've discussed before about consumers keeping their Wii and not seeing any need of having a Wii U. The big difference is that there was an obvious divide between the PS2 and PS3. The average consumer doesn't see it between the Wii and Wii U. It's why, early on, there was confusion about the GamePad being an accessory for the Wii rather than being part of a new console. I like my Wii U, I've got games for it and more I haven't bought yet for it, but I'm also a gamer who dabbles in different genres. When Nintendo made the Wii, they made a divide, the infamous "casual-hardcore" divide. It's something that has been maintained and transferred over to this new generation. I wouldn't be surprised if the Xbox One is going to be labeled as the "CoD machine" like the 360. Kids who grew up on the "cool and mature" Xbox 360 becoming teens with an Xbox One, and the same could be said for the PS4. It's something that I don't think Nintendo may recover from, even if they begin to directly compete with Sony and Microsoft again. Nintendo was a big part of growing up with video games for me, but kids today don't have the same circumstance. In fact, a lot has changed in the industry where the past can't be compared to the present. The PS4 and Xbox One are not like Super Nintendo and Genesis. There's hardly anything we can truly relate to those generations. The PS4 may be the fast selling console of all time, but it was noticeably easier to get a console Day One this generation than 2005 or 2006. I would have had a PS4 through Amazon, not waiting in line at Wal-Mart or Best Buy. Only, I fear Sony and Microsoft will have a decline in hardware a few years down the line. It happened with the Wii, where everyone massively bought out the console, but after the second year you were hard-pressed to find more consumers to meet demand. They'll still sell well, but I can't see every year for these consoles selling higher and higher. Oh, but Smash Bros. for the Wii U will definitely sell more than the 3DS counterpart. Even if more 3DS are out there, the title alone is Nintendo's indisputable system seller. Not to mention the multiplayer might work better on the Wii U whereas the 3DS is probably going to be a stuttering 10fps online, a la Brawl in Random Match. Great with Friends, horrendous with strangers.
  13. Nintendo 3DS now has Nintendo Network ID. This is truly a Christmas miracle.

There's still more unity to it, primarily how I can use prepaid credit between the two. Nintendo also got rid of the System Transfer limit, which was always kinda silly.

Need a proper account system. I shouldn't have to fear for any e-shop purchases.

I flat will not buy anything on the eShop until they have a real account system. I don't care how cheap it is.

  14. Been thinking about the Santa stuff. Like, if I ever have kids, if I would go through the ropes of setting up the tale, traditions, and so forth only for them to find out 8-10 years it was all fun and game from Mommy and Daddy.

  15. I thought I would give New Super Mario Bros. U a shot before Super Mario 3D World, but after watching some gameplay from different levels, I'm going straight to 3D World.

3D World is great. NSMBU is just another NSMB game. Trying so hard to relive the good ol days but failing. imho.

NSMBU is great, SM3DW is better.

As someone who hasn't played SM3DW but has an opinion anyways, I can honestly say, NSMBU is better due to 2D Mario's being better than 3D. COME AT ME BROS!

  16. Happened to me too. Not to be a badass, but show I can still be civil after kicking the crap outta someone.
  17. So the last episode, "Root Beer Guy," was excellent. I'm finding myself less and less drawn to the antics of Adventure Time, but that episode was high quality stuff. Maybe because it was mostly an adult themed episode, with some issues I can relate with to, that drew me in to the story. I'm definitely not a middle-aged man with a dead-end job capable of ensuing high levels of boredom. Then you have the wife who's feeling more distant from her husband because he can only seemingly find solace in writing a never-ending mystery novel.
  18. I haven't even finished my PS3 copy, not to mention I got an artbook with it for $30 months ago. It was $15 during the week of Black Friday, so I'm sure some more people got it then too. Not sure who else would be interested other than very late adopters, and even then you'd have to price it around $30 to make it worth looking at over the last-gen version.
  19. I'm not even fully speaking out of frustration. It's just as I described, but after typing out my above comment, I tried once more. I got Shiva down to about a quarter of her health and failed. All my other retries I didn't get as far. It's a waste of time to go through four simple challenges, so after 20 minutes you're back to where you need to improve. It's simply a hassle where you're pushing more than . What helps is if you can maintain Free Flow Mode (or whatever it's called) so you don't have to block and counter as often. Thing is if you lose it, then it's another uphill battle to maintain momentum.
  20. Don't even bother with the DLC. Infuriating pile of shit is what I would rate it. I don't mind that it happens to be a bunch of challenge maps, but the last challenge is ridiculous. I hate blade-wielding enemies because the constant dodging, and the martial artists that can only take a hit if you keeping hitting -> when attacking them. And remember the Shiva boss battle? That's what you have in Round 2 of the last challenge, but it doesn't show Counter markings for her. That wouldn't be bad, but her katana minions do have them and so you have to keep in mind there's a character in the lot that doesn't show when to counter. I got her to a third of her health, but all the literal backstabbing from her minions killed me. You get 5 retries, and I used them all on that last challenge. If you fail, you get nothing to show for it. A waste of time and money, and I'm not going to bother with whatever the true story DLC is either now. Jumping back into Origins reminded me of the ruined combat WB Montreal pulled off.
  21. How's the local multiplayer?
  22. Rayman Legends is best on Wii U. Come at me, bro.
  23. That's just how brutal Dark Souls is. At least, when it came to my destroyed Last of Us Survivor Edition, that was sold out indefinitely on Day One, the Amazon representative said they'd ship me a replacement. At that point in time I was frustrated (UPS blaming Amazon) and decided to save time (it had been three days) and money.
  24. Ultimately that's what it is, but the website itself won't tell you as much directly. It kept telling me it was available at my local store, but I'd go to checkout and it would give me the out of stock prompt for online shipping. I tried again (on what was yesterday), but it would redirect to a different store for in-store pickup. Had to manually select my store to see it was out of stock. It's not as bad as it was last year during the week of Black Friday at least, not when the whole site was down for nearly five hours. Considering all the good deals for in-store were made available online, and early, can't say I didn't see it coming. I wanted a replacement PS3 though, so I stuck to it.
  25. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QsbeQeiwW9o Saw this tonight on television and it caught my attention when it went into the "We have a Wii" dilemma. Not fond of the "upgrade" term, because a good portion of consumers don't go crazy over "upgrading" their entertainment. On the other hand, you only have so much time and can't go into "it's a new generation of Nintendo hardware with new features" when you could use one word.
