  1. I tried claiming the deal last night. Said it was out of stock, but it's only for store pickup. I tried again and said it was unavailable at my local Best Buy, though last night it said otherwise. No way I'm driving 120 miles for a discounted game (not to mention you'd blow more cash on gas than your savings). Deals on Best Buy's website can be great, but the actual website itself is a mess.
  2. Assassin's Creed III is a Greatest Hits now, and I thought for sure I could still get the original design during the surge of Black Friday sales, but I did receive a Greatest Hits. I don't mind too much, and my Assassin's Creed II game is also a Greatest Hits. Technically I still have the steelbox for when I had a pre-order of the game, but canceled. Of course it's a full-size case, but I also have collector's editions for PS3 games that stick out like so. Just I wouldn't feel comfortable actually tossing away the original case.
  3. Keeping a reserve stock has been a practice for games, like collector's editions and etc. This would be the first time where I think the method would have to hold its own for consoles given the ease of returning/replacing items online now. So even if faulty PS4s only make up 0.4%, that's still a lot of PS4s you'd have to replace. Fortunately Sony has the means to keep up production.
  4. I see you guys on my Friends List, so close, but yet so distant. Like we're on two different planes of reality, a mortal optimistically peering into the world of gods.
  5. Technically I'm sure she has the most of all the characters, but if I remember correctly she bursts into those "anything" songs. Like, you know, a spontaneous moment and it breaks into song. The others had more memorable songs, especially that one from Elsa. FYI, she's only 21 years-old, but is the oldest of the Disney Princesses lineup. I look at the older (chronologically) princess and I swear they look like they're in their 20's.
  6. Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection was $30 on Amazon for Cyber Monday. I luckily was able to claim the deal, unlike a few others that went like wildfire, but was probably for the best. I've already spent enough and have a backlog bigger than I've ever had before.
  7. Watching TV and I swear there's a dozen ways of winning a free Xbone. It's like a promotional "please, take it!"

Ditto to what Malicious said. :)

I'd sell it for MORE than retail price, because capitalism.

  8. How much was it? Amazon has the Walking Dead bundle with free downloads for Golden Abyss, Retro City Rampage, and Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time. Honestly was tempted by it, but it would have had to been the only thing I could purchase this week.
  9. Just gonna list these out: Scribblenauts Unlimited (Wii U) - $29.98 Rayman Legends (Wii U) - $25.00 Assassin's Creed III (PS3) - $15.00 Then I got a new gaming mouse for $25, and a 128GB flash drive for $42.
  10. Going to work Thanksgiving. I get there's "competition," but I already did all my Black Friday shopping online. Amazon makes it too easy and I didn't have to ignore my family.

  11. Frozen It's good. Like, REALLY good. You might begin thinking it's going to follow a cliche Disney plot, but it doesn't. Just that alone feels like a spoiler, but it's definitely a Blu-ray buy for me. I could go on, but the main point I would like to make is that it's original, fun, endearing, and honest. Even the sidekicks were wonderful, which is rare if you ask me. The visuals, and music. GOD THE MUSIC! Ergh, I would see this multiple times. It's like Tangled for me all over again!
  12. For $50 I got a headset that works on all (I guess now) prior generations and PC. It's not "Super Special Wireless 7.1 Surround Sound," just a nice surround sound headset with a good mic. I don't use the equalization thing, namely because it doesn't make a big difference with a lot of games. What I don't like with a lot of gaming headsets is that they're either console specific, or the connections are specific to a certain AV configuration. EDIT: As far as my question/problem, I found a solution. I did a bit more research and found a nice cable adapter for $5.
  13. Glad I found this topic, because I have a question. I'm thinking of getting an adapter for my current gaming headset because, with the new generation, both the Wii U and PS4 have audio jacks on their controllers. My headset, from Steelseries, detaches before the mixer part of the wired cable. It's not one cable though; it's split into headphone and microphone. So, I was looking into something like this: "Headset Buddy" or "Rockit" Maybe you guys know something better? I'd rather not have to get another headset, even if some others look and sound great. Thing is, I don't think there are many that are quite as "future proof" for the next generation.
  14. Anyone have a Chromebook? I've been looking into them lately, and the Acer C720 gets a lot of praise. There will even be a model early December with a touchscreen, though I'm not sure how handy that would be for the device.

Honestly, I was thinking it would be a better alternative than using my smartphone for Internet browsing. My 5 year-old laptop is hanging in there still, but as I'm not in college anymore, it doesn't serve a greater purpose, and I do have a desktop now.

Just in case Atomsk... I'd recommend just getting the normal one. The touchscreen one is pricier and has less RAM.

Buy an x86 one and throw a light Linux distro on that bitch.

  15. I'd suggest everyone also look at some more local/regional stores too. I was at a Fred Meyer yesterday and I learned that they'll have 20% off all video game software (and I believe headsets too). This includes all the new titles like Super Mario 3D World too, though the one down side is that you'd probably have to be there at 5:00 AM. I'll be getting off of work at 2:00 AM and don't feel like taking a nap inside my car when I have a shift starting at 10:00 AM that morning. However, if you have a Hastings, it may not be all software, but there are some good games for a great price. Tomorrow you would be able to go online as well, though keep in mind they will be different sales, but I may end up doing those because the sale in-store starts at 1:00 PM and I wouldn't plan on going to the store until around 7:00 PM because I have to start my shift at 7:30. If you'd like to see: Check it! EDIT: For example, I'm thinking of getting Scribblenauts Unlimited for $25, and possibly Lego Marvel Heroes for $25, though I'm not sure whether I want it on PS3 or Wii U. I'll have to look into what might make the Wii U version stand out.
  16. High school is so much different now, if I am to believe the stories of my young coworker. A day where everyone slaps each other's ass? A yoga pants day? Everyone going commando?

I could see the kids doing that, but no way in hell is it officially sponsored.

    2. Waldorf and Statler

      Waldorf and Statler

everyone going commando I can see. But as an unofficial thing. And pray to god you don't have PE

  17. The only other thing I can think of that is 3DS related is how Target and Overstock.com will have the 3DS XL for cheap. Target will have it at $150, while Overstock has it "too low to show." If you already have an XL, disregard. And if anyone needs to see an overview of the Black Friday ads for 2013, I always go to bfads.net
  18. Someone say Amazon video game deals? BAM! Holiday Deals Calendar (These tend to be a pain to load/find.) Only notable 3DS games I see are Kingdom Hearts 3D, that Final Fantasy rhythm game, and a Professor Layton title. I've kinda wanted to try out Monster Hunter, but I doubt I'd have anyone to play with online.
  19. Second set of screen protectors was successful. Only flaw was that the top protector was distorting the screen, had to lift and reapply a section until gone. Each time though the corner I used would get a little rough, but it's not bad (though my OCD says otherwise, but I'll get over it).

  20. It does seem great, and I do love Zelda, but I also never get overly excited for the handheld games of the series. Not like I don't want to play it, but I still haven't gotten to the Elite Four yet in Pokemon Y.
  21. Wasn't the one I was talking about, but yes I got that much when people were telling me in the comments. Though even when I have my monitor at its lowest brightness setting (which is now) I can see it just fine, so I was thinking it was different monitors/screens handling RGB, or more specifically true black, differently. If I had stuck around and saw more comments I probably would have made a lighter image and linked it in the comments, but I didn't. Not going to lose any sleep over it or anything, though it was overly positive. But also, lets not make this about me specifically. I'm not trying to get attention here, especially over silly shops and video edits. I really only submit stuff because I get an idea, either funny or interesting. Most of the time I don't have the means to do it, so I don't submit a lot.
  22. Dammit, the moment when you put a screen protector on and there's damn lint right in the middle even AFTER ALL THE CLEANING AND WIPING! I just love to waste money!

The last 2 sets of screen protectors I've bought have come with multiple at once. Likely because of shit like this.

    3. TheMightyEthan

      TheMightyEthan

Yeah, it's pretty standard for them to come in packs of 2 or 3 protectors.

The cheap ones probably. I first got some for my 3DS years ago from (I think) Power A and they were a pain.

  23. I got the 3DS XL bundle, but technically I'm going to wait until I get Pokemon Y finished. I've been procrastinating on finishing it, not to mention work takes a lot out of me and I tend to only browse now (and watch a few YouTube videos).
  24. Don't take this as bitching, but on Reddit: I don't care about karma, whether I get 10 or 1000: whatever. Thing is, I've noticed that when you get just a few negative votes at first, your submission is basically sent to Hell and stays there with just two or three votes. Truth be told, I probably waited too long and my submission became irrelevant on a hibernating subreddit. Thought it was still good, but NOPE! But whatever, I don't really care. I only care in the sense like I didn't get a fair shake at the majority of viewers because of a select few. But then again, being untimely on my part too.
