They decided to give it a rest after Unity's bad reception, but by that point Syndicate was already well into development (they were on a 2-year dev cycle), so it wasn't until after Syndicate released that they actually skipped a year.

I've noticed in recent years I don't have the desire to go back and play games again anymore. As a result, I find myself holding off on any game that's going to get singleplayer dlc so I can just get the whole thing at once. I can't help but wondering if this attitude is related to the recent apparently decline in the sales of singleplayer games.

This is the first new one in 2 years, so I guess we'll find out.

Lots of games have done an ultraHD texture pack as free DLC, so it's obviously possible.

The reviews are excellent. It sounds like it goes back to the open exploration format of M64 and Sunshine, which is exactly what I wanted from it. Mine shipped today and should be arriving tomorrow. I can't wait! Also Digital Foundry has a breakdown that I'm linking to just because I find the tech behind making games work in both portable and docked mode so fascinating: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2017-how-super-mario-odyssey-pushes-switch-to-its-limits

I read their little early access FAQ, and they basically said they considered not even doing early access, it's really more of a release candidate, and they're just using it to find and fix bugs and maybe adjust the balance a little before calling it officially final.

Oh awesome, I hadn't seen that. I am also now the proud owner of Snake Pass on Switch.

Without the game I can do whatever I want EVERY night of the week.

They're releasing a GOTY version of Season 1, which contains all the Season 1 content already released, plus an additional 4-mission campaign and bringing back elusive targets. People who already own Season 1 can upgrade for $20. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2017-10-24-hitman-game-of-the-year-edition-will-reactivate-elusive-targets

Or at least I was until you started asking and now I'm super tempted...

I barely knew what it was but that post just sold me on it.

I'm staying away.

There's music on in the front office and Mario's dancing is syncing with it perfectly.

I've found that a lot of the time simply opening the computer, determining nothing is wrong, and closing it again fixes the problems.

The Girl With All The Gifts. It's basically The Last of Us + 28 Days Later.

I'm not even gonna bother attempting Master Mode, let alone Trial of the Sword on Master Mode.

Hmm, still probably ram, but it would have been nice to have a bluescreen code to confirm.
-
I thought they said Q1 2018? Anyway, yeah, I spoke too soon. I gave it another try after learning that That made it much more manageable.
-
I don't think I'm going to be able to complete the third tier of Trial of the Sword...
-
I agree it's probably bad RAM. If RAM has a bad sector it will work fine until it tries to use that specific sector, and then it will crash. Are you getting bluescreens or just hard freezes?

Welp, my Twitter followers better be prepared to be inundated with Zelda clips. Just be glad I'm not still playing Mario + Rabbids... *Edit - Oh, apparently it only works on games that have specifically enabled it, and as of right now that's just Zelda, Splatoon, Mario Kart, and Arms.

Man, that boss really telegraphs its attacks...

Even 2 lacked a lot of what made 1 awesome. But that's a problem with horror sequels in general, monsters just aren't scary in the same way anymore once you're too familiar with them.

I am inexplicably kind of excited for the next AssCreed.

I have only encountered immersion heaters for fish tanks. I can only assume you mean something other than a fish tank heater...
