Don't hold off on Kingdom Battle, it's fantastic and games for Nintendo consoles don't drop in price anyway. Plus Odyssey isn't out for more than a month, that's plenty of time for Kingdom Battle.

Bought Human Resource Machine for Switch. Also preordered Super Mario Odyssey and Lego Marvel Superheroes 2, though I give it about a 50/50 chance that I cancel LMSH2 before release.

@Mal Honestly, the Rabbid presence in the game is fairly low-key, not very in your face. Obviously they're everywhere, but other than the opening cutscene there's not much of their typical Rabbids shenanigans. I definitely recommend it for anyone who has a Switch.

They've already announced more story content coming in 2018.

I finished Sonic Mania yesterday. Fantastic game. The designers clearly had a masterful understanding of the original Sonic games on Genesis. My only complaint is I would have liked one single QoL enhancement: I wish that it would save at the beginning of each act, rather than the beginning of each zone. They could even have put in the options whether you want a modern save system or the classic one, so purists could play it the old way. That is the only thing I would change though. I have half a mind to play through again as Knuckles. Also, this is kind of embarrassing, but

Fortnite has turned on Xbone/PS4 crossplay. The interesting thing is they didn't announce it, it just happened. Given the previous issues between MS and Sony getting that turned on, there's speculation Epic just did it without permission. That could make sense, if they're banking on MS and Sony each not wanting the bad publicity of being the one to nix it, so just letting it continue. Other developers have said it's super easy from a technical perspective, it's just the company policies that have been preventing them.

There should have been an item in the Nintendo news feed on the Switch that linked to the Octopath demo. That's how I got to it.

Has anyone else played the Octopath Traveler demo? I loved it, and now I'm super disappointed that the full game release date it's just "2018".

Exactly, making the game worse/more grindy to encourage microtransactions. Sure the skins are just cosmetic, not required, but it's still a little change to push you in that direction.

Kubo and the Two Strings I don't have a lot to say, other than that this movie was great. It's a really cool, stop motion epic. Also the credits music is a shamisen cover of While My Guitar Gently Weeps, so Best Movie Ever.

I don't know, I don't think there's any real data on it, just people reporting it happening to them. It's probably a small percentage but I don't want to take a chance, so I've ordered a third party dock that just holds it from the bottom so most of the console is exposed to the air rather than enclosed like the standard dock.

I've been playing Mario+Rabbids Kingdom Battle. It is fantastic. I especially like the 0%/50%/100% hit chances, you never feel like you're getting screwed by the RNG.

Some people have been having issues with the dock warping their Switch not because the dock itself is warped, but because it gets so hot if you play for extended periods while docked.

I was planning to wait for PC before I decided not to get it at all.

I always go for glass screen protectors, they just hold up so much better than plastic ones. Not only do they not peel away, but they don't get scratched up near as easily. My old phone that had a plastic screen protector was scratched all to hell (I keep it in the same pocket as my keys), but my current phone that I've had for almost two years has not a mark on the screen. They also help reinforce the screen if your device already has a glass screen, taking the shock if you drop it so sometimes it will just crack the protector rather than the actual screen.
