  1. Friday is the standard day in Europe. Honestly it makes more sense to me to release it on the same day world wide rather than artificially delaying it by 3 days in one territory.
  2. Usually when I say lol I didn't literally laugh out loud (surprise surprise), but I *would have* laughed out loud had someone said the thing irl. The only reason I didn't actually laugh is because there's no one around to see me laugh.
  3. Yeah, Raptr agrees. I was on my phone when I posted that so I was just going from memory.
  4. My favorite parts of Uncharted are the parts where I'm not shooting anything. The shooty bits, especially where they bring in the bullet sponges, just feel like obstructions to get to the fun parts.
  5. According to Raptr I think I have like 250 hours in Civ V.
  6. A surplus of 4X games is a very good problem to have.
  7. I agree it's too early for Civ VI or XCOM 2. Ideally I'd like to see at least one more major expansion for Civ V before there's a VI, but that probably won't happen.
  8. Arkham Origins Blackgate. Debated between the PC and Vita versions, but settled on Vita because it's portable, I think the low production values will be easier to swallow on there, and if I don't like it I can resell it.
  9. I would actually love it if Uncharted were more about exploration and puzzle solving than shooting. I still don't consider the "dissonance" between the gameplay and the story tone to be a problem though.
  10. Yesterday the Civilization twitter account was saying they were going to be announcing a new game today, so we'll probably have more info in the next few hours.
  11. But that doesn't make it murder. If someone tries to kill me, but I kill them instead, I didn't "murder" them. Murdering is killing somebody without sufficient provocation.
  12. I dispute that Drake is a mass murderer. Sure he's killed a lot of people, but they're pretty unequivocally bad guys, and they typically try to kill him first.
  13. I think there can be things that are legitimately immersion breaking, but as far as I'm concerned it's pretty much only when the game creates certain expectations about how it works, and then breaks them suddenly and unexpectedly. Like in Catherine, during gameplay you're free to blow off Katherine and go completely after Catherine, but then every time there's a cutscene suddenly Vincent wants nothing to do with Catherine and is completely devoted to Katherine. It's very jarring when the game appears to give you agency and then suddenly takes it away, and I think it would have been much much better if they hadn't given the player any agency at all. But yeah, all the stuff you're talking about is just people sucking at suspension of disbelief. It's a goddamn videogame, of course there are going to be some things that aren't completely realistic. Claiming that those things ruin your immersion just means you suck at being an audience.
  14. There was an annoying little kid, probably 2 or 3 years old, whining of and on throughout my showing. The mom at least had the decency to take him out of the theater each time, but she always waited too long before she did, and always brought him back in.
  15. That's what I figured, that any connection would be indirect through the Asgardians and the infinity stones.
  16. Oh, see, I think no matter where they go with I know almost nothing about Guardians of the Galaxy. Is it pretty much given that it won't tie into Earth events at all? At least not directly?
  17. Well that was dramatic. Also spoiler-y for The Winter Soldier.
  18. I'll preorder once they officially announce a date.
