I would say it's easily the best of the series except for the last 5 minutes. With Director's Cut they fixed almost all of my complaints with the ending, but overall I still have to go with the first one as my favorite.

I wish I could see what everyone else finds so amazing about Tearaway, it really seems like I'm missing out.

Times Where You've Been the Asshole/Placed Foot in Mouth

For the most part our system is just buy ticket, sit wherever the hell you can find open seating. -
I've never played that one, but I did go back to try NSMBU to make sure I wasn't imagining it, and that one is definitely a lot more frictiony on the ground. NSLU just makes it so you have no precision in your movements, which makes a precision platforming game a chore rather than fun like NSMBU.

Trying to play New Super Luigi U, but goddamn did they ruin the controls. I knew the levels were designed to be harder, but I didn't expect them to make Luigi move like every floor was made of ice. The appealing thing about Mario games is their great controls, why would they destroy that? I'm actually quite upset about this, cause it was a Christmas gift from my wife and I was really looking forward to playing it. But goddamn, it just controls so terribly.

Beat Episode 1. I'm definitely looking forward to the rest.

Because of course I did.

In the US we don't typically have assigned seats in the theater, so everyone would just reserve their own ticket. No need to have one person reserve a block of seats together. It also means that if you're not early enough to a popular showing you probably won't get to sit together. -
Meant by whom? That's a completely arbitrary statement. Religion is a social construct, and like any social construct it changes over time. Even if you believe the writings themselves were handed down word for word by God, they're still being interpreted by fallible humans, and as such are subject to reinterpretation. If the writings weren't meant to be reinterpreted then being a biblical scholar wouldn't even be a thing that exists.

Oh shit, I was thinking Tomb Raider was 2012. Yeah, I'm going to second Tomb Raider. It was very well put together, it did a lot of things that I liked in Uncharted, and focused on them more than Uncharted did (exploration, traversal, etc). Also when you did have combat it tended to be better than Uncharted. I also liked the slight Metroidvania feel to it.

Yes it is, things are always being reinterpreted in light of modern thinking. That's been going on for the last two thousand years, it's not a new thing.

Yeah, something time-critical like a movie, you're the asshole if you're late and make people miss it. Same goes for restaurant reservations and what have you. -
Honestly I think the biggest frustration, having to wait on each other/drag the screen to where you need it, is alleviated by the new splitscreen mechanic. I'm just not confident enough of that to drop $50 on it.

Man, I want that Firefly game so bad, but one hour per player... I'd never get anyone to play with me.

Assassin's Creed 4, pretty much for the reasons you listed. I loved the sailing mechanic and AC3 when I played it and was hoping Ubisoft would make a pirate game based entirely/primarily around that mechanic. I had actually hoped it would be a new series and wouldn't have all the Assassin's Creed land-lubber stuff, but otherwise this game was pretty much exactly what I'd dreamed of. My one complaint about it is that I think Adewale would have made a better main character, and this seems to be confirmed by his DLC. Not only is he more likable, his motivations and background are just more interesting. The Last of Us. It was an interesting take on the zombie genre, and I really liked the way it implemented stealth. What really puts it over the edge though is DAT ENDING, which obviously I can't describe without massive spoilers.

Can Chromecast stream mkvs and stuff too? How exactly does it work?

Yeah, I keep hearing it's really good, but we tried Lego Star Wars back in the day and it was so frustrating to play together that I don't want to spend much on this one. And yes, I have been so tempted by the PC version, but that's not really workable for coop.

Adamantium. It's toxic to anyone without a super healing factor.

Probably the last game I'll finish this year. Quite enjoyed it. *Edit* - I also really liked the art style of the environments. They were gorgeous.

Okay, I had no interest in Long Live the Queen until that exchange. Now I'm intrigued.

You'll do a lot better on a second playthrough. You'll be a lot faster so you'll make more money and the family starving shouldn't be an issue.
-
I want Lego Marvel for PS4, but I'm not sure enough I'll like it to spend more than $20 on it, and it doesn't want to drop.

It's still a step forward.
