  1. Clearly you have no idea what you're talking about. Or just type in "not" and right click it. What in the world does your response have to do with his comment? If you go to his link the middle tip is referencing adding programs that don't show up insearch. Clearly notepad does, which is why it's used as the example for finding programs that do show up in search.
  2. I meant if the prices ends up being not much more than doing that. But I'm sure it will be.
  3. I'd use it if it weren't much more than getting the components the old fashioned way (and if it weren't proprietary).
  4. My favorite part was the "sexy girl laugh" subtitles. She did have a cute voice.
  5. How do you even get to checkout? I thought all digital games were one-click purchase. *Edit* - Never mind, there's a confirmation page.
  6. That looks super fancy space age compared to the Wacom my wife has.
  7. Well hell, if it works on all digital games I may have to do some more shopping...
  8. But he said he'd tried it with both 20 and 21 on the front, and neither worked.
  9. That $5 coupon is only supposed to be good on the Editor's Choice games, and that pack isn't listed. Can you confirm it applies?
  10. Metro was the official name for the interface for products in the wild, not just Win8, for like 6 years. The idea that it was only ever an internal codename is a retcon by Microsoft. I'm going to keep calling it Metro because "Modern UI" is clunky and sounds stupid.
  11. Sony said today that for every platform other than PS4 and Vita you'll have to use a DS3 to play the games. On PS4 you can use the DS4 and on Vita you can use its controls, but TVs and phones and everything will require a DS3, no touch or other controllers.
  12. Wait, are you actually insinuating the recent season of Korra was better than this show? I don't even know what to say to that, and I'm one of the people who liked this Korra better than most...
  13. Yeah, it's not a system seller because you can do it on PS3. Or your phone. Or your fucking TV.
  14. I think the only thing I agree with in that comment is that it would be nice if they'd have the movie characters make appearances occasionally. Even minor, like for one scene.
  15. Fine the start screen then. Whatever it's called, I don't like it. On a touch screen it's nice, but with a kb/m it just feels clunky compared to the start menu. As far as future proofing goes, two things: 1) I'm not convinced it won't be ignored. DX10 was pretty much ignored. 2) Even if it does become integral to gaming there's nothing to stop me from getting Win8 in the future.
  16. Do I mean the thing that used to be called Metro but they changed the name to something bland that I couldn't remember? Hmmm... Yeah, guess what, that start menu is the Metro interface, which as I said, I hate. Like I said in my last post. *Edit* - Also, as far as I can see, the only two games that even support DX11.1, released or announced, are BF4 and Star Trek Online. Not exactly super compelling.
  17. Because I hate the metro interface on non-touch devices. I know it has desktop mode, but it doesn't have a start menu, except metro, which I hate. *Edit* - also this is the first I've heard of better games compatibility.
  18. My office got it for me. I'm stoked.
  19. My usage of Windows 8 (post-8.1) has confirmed my initial impression: It's great on a touch screen but I wouldn't want it on a desktop/non-touch laptop.
  20. Seems like the site is broken. Why did it even occur to you to use anything other than the standard year format?
  21. I turn mine off at night, then turn it on in the morning before I get in the shower. It doesn't use any power overnight and I don't have to wait on it at all. *Edit* - I had a problem a few times with the cat turning it off, but I just changed the Windows power settings so that the power button doesn't do anything.
  22. Project Christine, being developed by Razer. Each module contains a different component, and is supposed to be entirely self-contained, with all the necessary tech for it to run (other than power), so you avoid the possibility of cascading upgrades due to incompatible interfaces or whatever. The backbone is built on a PCIE interface. Each module is also sound-dampened and mineral oil cooled. Seems like a neat, if impractical, idea. Here are Engadget's and PCWorld's thoughts. *Edit* - Damnit, ninjad.
  23. I turn my desktop off overnight. I hibernate my laptop unless I'm planning to use it again in the next few hours, in which case I put it in standby. I don't use my laptop very often though cause something about its battery interface is fucked up so it won't recharge its battery, meaning I have to have it plugged in in order to use it.
  24. Oh yay, I love games with cards I can sell for free money.
