  1. The Steam controller may become more popular in the sense that more games start supporting it, but I doubt it will become the most popular option.
  2. I would definitely recommend the game to anyone who hasn't played it, but having played the PC version I have no plans to double-dip. *Edit* - Watching that video I do think Lara looks better in the new version, even though from the screenshots I didn't.
  3. You're three years younger than me.
  4. Oh, holy shit, awesome. I'd recently started eyeing that game.
  5. Hey, not only are the simulations running server-side, but they are FAR too advanced to run on a local machine.
  6. You know, I hadn't thought about it, I just kind of assumed that they halted physical sales too. A quick check shows Deadpool at least is still available for physical purchase from Amazon, and even a PS3 download code, though the PC version is unavailable.
  7. SimCity is getting an offline mode. If they'd done this at launch, or within a month or two then I'd definitely have bought it, but at this point I just don't care anymore. Plus I've heard so much about how terrible the simulation is.
  8. It runs at a fairly consistent framerate, I'd estimate about 30 fps. There have been a couple times that it suffered some low framerates, but I can only think of two so far and neither one was at a critical point where it affected me trying to play the game. *Edit* - To give "so far" some context, I'm on the 4th of 9 levels.
  9. Splinter Cell HD. I was trying to play it on PC, but the shadows don't work right on modern hardware so your only option is to use really shitty low res ones that look like ass. So I picked up the PS3 HD trilogy for cheap and am playing it on there instead. It's got more aliasing than on my PC, but the lighting effects more than make up for it.
  10. I don't think it's a case of uncanny valley, neither one is especially more realistic or creepier, they're just different.
  11. I understood what the exoskeleton did within the confines of the story, I just don't understand from a writing perspective why they felt the need to include it.
  12. The dialog didn't even bother me, it was the plot. And the whole "resolution" at the end didn't even make any goddamn sense. And why was that exo skeleton even part of the movie?
  13. I think I would like Don't Starve a lot better if the hunger meter decayed maybe 2/3 as fast as it does.

Got as far as day fifteen.. Enjoying it, but damn is it difficult to start again when you die after that long.. I'll probably pack it in forever if I die after making it as far as 30.

I havent gotten around to downloading it, but I just saw a video and it looks like a freaking flash game. What the hell? Thats the last thing I want to play on my PS4.

  14. Elysium. It had a lot of potential it just didn't live up to.
  15. I've been thinking about forbidden island/desert. Any recommendations on which one I should get?
  16. That UK one decided I was from the south east.
  17. Yeah, my wife and I love Ru Paul's Drag Race.
  18. Doesn't it cost money to change your tag?
  19. Well I was gonna play the original Splinter Cell on PC, but turns out the shadows are fucked up on it too.

Was the PC version ported by the same people? As in it didn't have a PC port back when it first came out?

No, it was on PC back then. And Ethan, how do you mean? I don't remember any shadow problems when I played it. Only major issue I ran into was a lighting tech no longer being supported by modern drivers, and I only noticed it in the last mission since the spotlights I was supposed to avoid weren't visible. I found a fix, though. They still didn't work but I could see the areas on the ground I needed to avoid.

Actually, I think I was confusing myself based on what I was reading on forums about it not working on other cards, and thinking I was having some of the symptoms.

  20. Did you ignore the part where not all apps show up in search? *Edit* - Also, Win 7 has pictures in the start menu too, they're called "icons" and are plenty good enough for recognizing apps. And if I'm in All Programs instead of launching something pinned I just start typing the name of it anyway to go straight to it.
  21. I haven't heard of any problems withits stability.
  22. I didn't realize it was that close to done.
