  1. Answering your question, so may be a spoiler you don't want, but I didn't feel the first level was too short, but like you I'm crazy methodical.
  2. How could those be bad for you, x is such a cool letter.
  3. *casts Revive* So my wife drew a rough draft with a sharpie for me of a tattoo I'm considering getting (yes I know it's Dr. Manhattan's symbol, no that's not why I want it). My hair looks awful because we were at the pool earlier and I haven't showered since. The tattoo would be on my left arm, but I was too lazy to reverse the mirror shot. Another location I'm considering: This one got distorted because of the way I was sitting when she was drawing it, which would obviously be corrected for the final thing. The height is about right, and it would just be an actual circle (rather than an oval) in that location. So it would be wider than it is in this picture. I'm not 100% thrilled with the placement, it would probably be slightly higher on my arm. This one has the advantage of being covered even when I'm wearing short sleeves, so I could still wear those even if I were going somewhere that I didn't want it showing. The forearm one has the advantage that I would be able to see it most of the time, which appeals to me. *Edit* - Actually, I would probably move the forearm one up a little bit too, to be closer to my elbow.
  4. Yeah, those pictures make it look a lot more attractive.
  5. Tearing can be an issue any time a frames are being generated out of sync with the refresh rate of the monitor. It can be either higher or lower. What vsync does is make the GPU wait and only deliver frames to the monitor in time with the refresh rate, rather than whenever it finishes the frame. Further reading: http://www.tweakguides.com/Graphics_9.html It's just a personal preference thing, tearing doesn't bother some people, but it bothers the shit out of me. That article I linked says that vsync can reduce fps by up to 50%, but in my experience (on my rig) it's usually more like 10-20%. I'd rather run at 30 fps with solid frames than 40 with tearing.
  6. V-sync is one of my top priorities. I'll turn down everything almost everything else before that (the only thing higher on priority for me is resolution). I cannot stand screen tearing.
  7. I'll get it if/when it's below $10. Looks interesting, but not quite interesting enough to justify more than that.
  8. I only say that because, at least on my 3DS box, it has "3D Mode Ages 7+" on the bottom-right corner. I'm not sure if that has been retracted now because, as you say, it now is not true. Just that it's why a lot of folks online have been using the "under 7" phrase, either for justification or mocking the concept of a non-3D 3DS. AFAIK it still says that, but it was ever only their to cover their ass, not based on any actual evidence that it's bad for kids.
  9. I don't play multi. To be fair, I did enjoy KZ2's campaign, but KZ3 just didn't feel fun to me. I didn't even finish it.
  10. Is Ralph slow? I understand Mikey's probably the fastest, but I would expect Ralph to be faster than Leo.
  11. Maybe they can actually make this one fun to play, too.
  12. It's certainly not a bad price for a handheld console (pretty fucking great, actually), and if it were an adult getting it then the odds of it breaking aren't that high. It's also certainly well within the range of what a parent might get for their kid. I was talking, in response to TN calling it disposable, more about how a parent might treat it if their kid broke theirs and wanted a replacement. I don't see a whole lot of parents going "Oh, you broke your $130 handheld little Johnny? That's okay, we'll go get you a new one right away."
  13. Yeah, that bugged the shit out of me. I'm okay with games that want to tell you a story that isn't affected by player agency, but if that's what you're doing then don't fucking give the player choices to be making. If I'm blowing off Katherine in gameplay I want Vincent to do the same in the cutscenes. Otherwise just don't give me the option.
  14. More disposable than the regular 3DS, sure, but $130 still isn't in the "oh, it broke? oh well, let's get a new one" range for most people I know.
  15. Preordered on the MS store for $20 XBL voucher.
  16. I still think those screens being exposed like that is a huge weak point.
  17. There's nothing to suggest that 3D is bad for kids' eyes, anymore than sitting too close to the 2D TV is (hint: it's not). It's just an extension of the whole "ooh, TV and games are bad for you!" outlook.
  18. Man, in 1999 I was a badass 13 year old who fucking loved Pokemon Snap.
  19. No I know, I was just commenting on the ridiculousness of a vehicle of any kind taking days to refuel.
  20. If ever there was a game where a 4 pack made sense, this is it.
  21. Oh, huh, Amazon's still got it listed for $60 (it was originally $50 there, but everyone else had it at $60, and Amazon raised theirs to match).
  22. It's $50 on the eShop? It's $60 at retail.
  23. The body may be sturdier but those exposed screens are going to take a beating. @Strangelove: yeah, the Welcome Park thing.
  24. I used my Vita camera the first day I got it to make faces out of various things around the house.
  25. Price cut for the Deluxe down to $299.
