  1. It's not that I think you like it as an attempt to be difficult, the obtuseness is in the way you write the comments. You know exactly why someone might choose Windows 7 over Windows 8, but you ask the question anyway phrased in a way to suggest that the very idea of not liking the changes is completely retarded.
  2. Most people seem to not like Windows 8 as much as Windows 7. Who cares if it's more "up to date" if people don't like the interface? Must you really be so intentionally obtuse?
  3. Well the idea is that you're intentionally committing an inherently dangerous crime, and due to that inherent danger someone died, so the intent to do the inherently dangerous thing is carried over to the death, which I think makes sense.
  4. I just wish it weren't so combat-oriented. I would have preferred something that you could ghost, stealthing around and hacking your target's memory and whatnot, and with this game that does not sound possible.
  5. Yeah. Some states have made exceptions though so that it doesn't apply if a co-conspirator is killed by a victim or law enforcement.
  6. I agree there are instances where it's applied stupidly (two guys break into a house, one gets shot by owner and dies, other burglar charged with murder), but I think in this kind of situation it makes sense.
  7. The fact that it happened while they were fleeing police makes it felony murder, and they were all on probation at the time... Those kids are going away for a while.
  8. My thought was always that if you require more than 3 million sales of your brand-new IP in the first month just for it to break even then you should have had a different business model to start with.
  9. @FLD: I was trying to link to that stuff I quoted immediately after it. The apostrophe broke my link too. Let's try this: http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Qo'noS#The_name_of_the_homeworld *Edit* - And that's interesting what you say about always having seen it spelled Qo'noS, because I've never seen it spelled any way other than Kronos.
  10. I agree it's too busy, but it's certainly better than the generic shooter covers you see so often.
  11. Remember Me is 25% of at GMG. I'm tempted. Might go watch some gameplay videos and decide.
  12. I also always buy temporarily free DLC for games I might want in the future. Perfect example is the PSASBR characters I have sitting on my PS3 right now.
  13. Real BMI is a good measure, where they actually immerse you in water and calculate your density. Fake BMI, where you just estimate it using weight and height, is a terrible measure.
  14. http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Qo'noS#The_name_of_the_homeworld This was the first time either spelling had ever appeared on screen, and the movies and TV series are the only really true canon. Anyway, to me it's no more jarring than an American moving saying "Germany" on screen instead of "Deutschland". As for the flip phones, they just wanted to use the same design as the original series, since it's set around the same time period. In-universe explanation as to why they're so bulky compared to modern phones could easily be that they're subspace transmitters, rather than simply radios like our cell phones are, and that equipment is larger. Also, when was the last time you saw someone in a TV show or movie using a flip phone? (Excluding things that were made when flip phones were still common.) I've never noticed them being prevalent.
  15. I'm reading Ender's Game again. All the movie trailers inspired me.
  16. Having never tried Windows 8, my main impression of why people haven't liked it has been not so much that the changes are bad as that they tried to force too many all at once, and it makes it overwhelming to try and learn the new system. Phasing it in gradually makes much more sense to me.
  17. I wish they'd start putting GBC/GBA/DS games on the Wii U eShop. I'd be all over that shit.
  18. It's actually an ARG. EA has painted strategically placed metal rails red in several major cities. Players must locate the courses and complete them while being shot at by local police.
  19. Yeah, I think that's the only Flower trophy I didn't get.
  20. I've logged in with my Live account on friends' 360's, and I'm just always careful to make sure to have it require a password for future logins.
  21. Rumors continue. Apparently listings have gone up and then come down for Mirror's Edge 2 on Xbone on the Italian and German Amazons, and now a support page for it briefly appeared on EA's site. If we don't hear something at E3 I might actually explode. Also, I'm probably reading WAY too much into the fact that they were Xbone listings, but if ME2 launches as an Xbone exclusive that might actually be enough to get me to buy the console.
  22. Yeah, in all the hubbub about used games being blocked I hadn't even realized this aspect until a couple of days ago. A parent won't be able to buy one copy of a game so their three kids can all play it. That's ridiculous. Of course, it's possible the game registration will work the same way downloads currently work on 360: When you download content (game, DLC, whatever) it is registered to the account that bought it, but it's also registered to the specific 360 you downloaded it on. The registered account can play it on any 360, and any account can play it on the registered 360. That would lessen the impact of the sibling situation considerably.
