  1. I don't think their actual faces look much alike, but their expressions are pretty similar.
  2. I certainly missed that, other than the big expansions like University, Night Life, etc.
  3. Preordered: $45 on GMG with the new 25% off code from the blog. Steam activation, as per usual.
  4. My new working theory to make the voice something I can accept: Sam Fisher is not his actual name, it's a code name, so this actually is a different person. I'm sure the game will torpedo that theory though by making references to him doing things in the previous games. *Edit* - Wait, WTF? "Silence" is killing everyone in the room? Do they honestly not understand what people want when they say they want the ability to ghost the game? I ghosted Dishonored and it was AWESOME. I ghosted (for the most part) the old Splinter Cells and that was was awesome. Let me ghost this one too. *Edit 2* - On further thought I guess I didn't really ghost the old Splinter Cells, I just knocked people out rather than killing them.
  5. I think most literalists would say that any apparent contradictions are just because we're flawed beings and incapable of fully understanding God's will/plan/whatever.
  6. How does it compare to 999?
  7. I think he meant that Minerva's Den is better than Bioshock 2.
  8. Yeah, that.
  9. Okay, so I've been rescuing the little sisters and have a question:
  10. Meh, that part doesn't bother me. Basically, my question is how good is it compared to the main game (if I do get it I won't do so until after I've played through the main story).
  11. On my third attempt to play it, and after making myself keep going for about the first hour and a half, Bioshock 1 finally got its hooks in me. I just finished the Arcadia section, and I'm really liking it (the adjustment to mouse-acceleration helped A LOT). Looking ahead though, I've already got Bioshock 2 ($5 on a Steam sale last fall or something), and I'm wondering if, assuming like like 2 a lot, is Minerva's Den worth it? The reason I ask is because it's $5 on GFWL, and I don't expect it to drop in price, and since that's as much as I paid for both of the first two games in their entirety I'm hesitant to spend that much on DLC.
  12. Yeah, if you can recycle components from your previous build that'll be a real money saver. I haven't bought a monitor or speakers in years, and it was only on this last upgrade that I had to get a new PSU and case. My DVD drive is like 8 years old at this point. Keyboards and mice can similarly last forever.
  13. I actually played the Wii version of TP again last year (in preparation for SS), and I decided I liked it better than the GC version. The sword swinging isn't quite as good due to the waggle, but the aiming of ranged weapons is so much better that it more than makes up for it.
  14. You can't do it post-game, you have to do it before the final approach to the end (the game does a good job of warning you when that is) but other than that you can do it any time after it appears as a mission (it's the one about Admiral Anderson's apartment on the Citadel). The later in the game you wait though the more characters will show up.
  15. I'd also recommend Ocarina of Time, because like WaS said that's where most people I know got their start with Zelda.
  16. I knew they had them a lot, but I only ever knew specifically about the ones that they post on the main page. Had no idea about the blog or Twitter (though in retrospect I should have figured there was a Twitter page).
  17. Oh, I never knew that, I just had to google around. I never would have known there was a voucher if you hadn't said something.
  18. Yeah, I've thought since Civ V came out that there should be some kind of resource sharing between cities connected by a trade route. It never made sense to me that one city might be starving when it's got a direct road link to another city with +10 food.
  19. 20% off your order at Green Man Gaming with this code: GMG20-GGN5D-FC3NA
  20. Awesome tip about the code, I just used it to buy that same DLC. For anyone who wants to use the code but can't easily find it, here it is: GMG20-GGN5D-FC3NA It's 20% off your order.
  21. Is it really phishing if they're not trying to get your personal info? It's more like a really benign pyramid scheme (still irritating as hell though).
  22. My wife was reading this page this morning and telling me about it, and I thought it was quite interesting. It's a discussion of various American dialects, what defines them, and where they're centered geographically.
  23. There's some overhead data that Twitter incorporates into every tweet that eats up 20 of the characters.
  24. Twitter has that limitation in order to be compatible with the SMS standard.
