  1. We need to get some games arranged, so who's interested? Also, post whether you have HotS or just WoL. I've got HotS.
  2. Yeah, and it's not as hard as you might think. I almost responded to FLD's post saying that it reinforced how much I suck cause I don't use shortcuts, but then I realized I actually do use shortcuts a lot. The one thing I'm bad about is expanding to another base. I think the single most takeaway from this though is to build multiple unit-construction buildings if you find yourself queuing up dudes.
  3. Hmm, I don't think I've done a renegade run of ME3 yet, that will have to be my next one. Renee Shepard, punches reporters every chance she gets.
  4. Yes, because Youtube's system is so effective at keeping out bad comments.
  5. I've made it to the tech level of giant mechs, but I don't think I've ever actually built one because they're not great against cities and by that point in the game if I have a massive army it's because I'm trying to conquer the world.
  6. July 9 in the US, July 12 everywhere else. Crossing those internet oceans takes a while, presumably because they have to take longer routes to avoid pirates. *Edit* - Also, apparently that thing about it having XCOM units is official, and not a mod like I assumed.
  7. Okay, so a vast majority of people do prefer Ashley over Kaiden, which means it's you guys who are the weirdos, not me.
  8. I've heard that the XL makes the 3D sweet-spot bigger and so it's a lot more comfortable to use in 3D.
  9. Not aside from a couple of NES games that have been released as part of the 30 years celebration.
  10. I want someone to figure out a way to get the tablet connected to a PC, and use it to play games. That would be fan-fucking-tastic.
  11. I hate when they do that. I never got to take the Aircraft and Missile Propulsion class that I really wanted to because it was only offered in the fall semester of odd years, and the first time around I didn't have the prerequisites I needed and the second I had already graduated.
  12. I think even calling it 7.5 is generous. It's more like 7.2. The tablet is pretty much its only selling point (beyond the obvious Nintendo exclusives), but it's a pretty damn good selling point. Off-TV play is amazing (though the PS4 looks like it will support that via Vita for all its games too). *Edit* - I agree with TFG that you should only get it if you like Nintendo's games. It's going to be far behind PS4/720 in terms of hardware, so I imagine it will be like the Wii and not really get the multiplats. It's a supplemental thing, it can't be the primary one.
  13. In fact the App Store seems to demonstrate that they're actively hostile to games, and especially games any more serious than Fuzzy Rainbow Princess Kingdom.
  14. I agree, I like how it was actually done better, just that was my thought at the time.
  15. Now I feel like I need to read Heart of Darkness again. I'd probably get more out of it now than I did when I was 15, too.

  16. Some of the things I read mentioned Bioshock when discussing the thematic nature of this game. Bioshock has always been a game I really WANT to like, because from what I've played the atmosphere is fantastic, but I never liked how it played. I'm planning to try again on the easiest difficulty to see if that will mitigate the problem (the problem wasn't that the game was too hard, but perhaps on easy the feel of the play won't bother me as much because it won't be as important). Regarding the helicopter in Spec Ops thing:
  17. I'm still not convinced all these end-of-the-world rumors are true.
  18. Having reflected (hey, look, it's exactly an hour later!) and read some thoughts of other people, I've decided I like it. Or think it was "good", or whatever. That was my initial reaction, but there was one aspect that left me unsatisfied that made me have to think about it more: Also, reading about it has convinced me to try Bioshock again. For the third time. Somehow I've managed to make it 5 1/2 years without really spoiling that game, though I have no idea how.
  19. Yes, because that's such a niche market.
  20. Spec Ops: The Line. I'm going to have to reflect on this before forming an opinion. As far as just judging it as a game though, it was decent. I've certainly played worse shooters.
  21. I enjoyed it, though I thought the end was rather anticlimactic.
  22. It's really polarizing. It seems like people either love it and all the side stuff, or hate it cause they think it's so bloated.
