  1. He's explaining what the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints (Mormon Church) believes.
  2. I was quite surprised to see Waluigi, of all people.
  3. Pshah, I get, like, over 9,000 pbps, so...
  4. I'm not saying they shouldn't introduce changes, what I'm saying is they shouldn't force those changes on users who do not have the interface to use them properly. They could have kept the old-style start menu for people who want it, and also used Metro for those who have a device that it is suited for. Hell, even default to Metro and make me go into a menu to change it, but don't force an interface designed for touchscreens onto non touchscreen devices. That's what I meant when I said the desktop use was compromised.
  5. They have equipment like in Reach, so maybe it's a new one. It looks like reviews are going up already and they are quite positive.
  6. Everyone has granted numerous times that the Metro interface probably works very very nicely on touchscreen devices, what people are saying is that it's stupid to force that interface onto people with non-touchscreen devices. Microsoft compromised the desktop/laptop functionality by catering to tablets/hybrid laptops. You say not to limit yourself to a non-hybrid laptop, but a laptop isn't the kind of thing that people replace every year, and many people and business already have laptops that are not hybrids. Also, this isn't directed at anyone specific, but I feel it needs to be said:
  7. I don't even know what that means, so I'm guessing "no".
  8. And home: Me. My wife. Me and my wife.
  9. So to add some anecdotal "evidence": Tonight for Halloween we saw 4 kids dressed as Angry Birds and 5 kids dressed as Mario characters. Among the Angry Birds there were 3 red birds and 1 ice bird, and among the Mario characters there were 4 Marios and 1 Waluigi.
  10. As a side note, try saying "lackluster launch lineup" three times fast. *Edit* - Apparently there were more posts since I opened the page...
  11. Might be thinking of Playstation Suite.
  12. So you were basically playing Dawn of the Dead: The Boardgame?
  13. I have not played AC3 as it is not out on the One True Platform until November 18. The more I think about the new combat controls the more I think I like them though. The only thing I don't like is that there's no longer a distinction between run and sprint, which means that when on rooftops it's impossible to prevent her from spontaneously leaping into nowhere unless you want to walk super slow. Now rather than R to run and R+X or R+ to sprint, it's just R to sprint.
  14. Here's what I'm wearing for work today: There are surprisingly few Halloween costumes that it's acceptable to wear to court.
  15. I haven't played SR2, but I really liked the use of the smartphone in SR3. I felt it was a really good way to provide you with a very computery menu without breaking you out of the game world. It didn't scream "NOW YOU'RE LOOKING AT GAME OPTIONS BECAUSE YOU'RE PLAYING A GAME" it was just "now you're looking at your phone". GTAIV was similar, but IIRC they didn't use it for as much.
  16. I played for a little more than an hour yesterday. First impressions are that I like the persona system, with slave/assassin/lady disguises, but I don't like that they changed the controls for no apparent reason. I'm not even talking about touch screen controls, I mean the buttons for free running and combat and stuff. They changed it seemingly just for the sake of changing it, which leads to frustration when my muscle memory I've built up over the last 5 years has me do the wrong thing.
  17. Sim City is one I really really want to be interested in, but their online policy and lack of save/reload is killing it for me.
  18. I think the tiles and such absolutely make sense on a touch screen device. It's on a kb/m device that they don't make sense (laptops included). Really my only issue with the Metro interface is that there's no option to replace it with a more classic "start menu" type setup if you're not on a touch screen device. The reason the list view is nice is because it's a lot more convenient to go through 2-3 pages of a list view than 20-30 of tiles.
  19. Of course phone/tablet will never compete in the AAA category (or at least not any time soon). That's not the point. The point is that many of the more casual gamers who jumped on console this gen are never going to buy another console again because they can get their casual fix from their phone/tablet. AAA gamers will stick with consoles and PC, but as dean said AAA is fairly niche. It's just a niche that buys a LOT.
  20. Article I of the Constitution says that the election must take place on a single day throughout the country, so if they delay it on the east coast they'd have to delay it nation wide. Also the date is set by law so to delay it Congress would have to meet and pass a bill changing the date.
  21. @FDS re tiles: I know Steam doesn't do that either, but it should. At least make it an option to have it take the icon images and automatically turn them into tiles. It's stupid that you have to get a third-party program to do that. Obviously this is a minor complaint.
  22. AC3 (PC) Halo 4 I would have had Assassin's Creed Liberation on there too, but I just got it today.
  23. True dat. On many, many occasions my friends and I have been trying to play some new little indie game coop and finally been driven to "screw this, let's just play Starcraft."
