  1. Yeah, "DLC" is just used as a generic word for any add-on that doesn't really qualify as an "expansion pack".
  2. I think the Pragia mission is in Alliance space, but I could be wrong. You're right that most of the game is in the Terminus Systems though, and the Mass Effect Wiki doesn't say whether Pragia is in Alliance space or not.
  3. You didn't nuke the whole damn planet, just the base.
  4. Assuming the demo's intro is the same as the full game's intro (everything else about it is) then if you didn't do Arrival they just talk in generalities ("the shit you've done") whereas if you did Arrival they specifically say for blowing up the Batarian system.
  5. Because you went off to work with a terrorist organization? *Edit* - What garden world did you nuke if you weren't the one responsible for blowing up the relay?
  6. That's Balak, and he kind of blames all humans for all actions of the Alliance, and for the general fall from glory of the Batarian Hegemony. I didn't see the dialog, but are you sure he was blaming you specifically, and not just because you're a high-profile human?
  7. DOA5 is supposed to release this September. Haven't said how many characters AFAIK.
  8. Oh it does? From what Dean said before I thought it acted like he'd done it.
  9. Yeah, the game taught me the block and I never ever look at manuals.
  10. Well I like Adventure 2: Battle, which everyone seems to agree was absolutely terrible, so maybe I'll love this one...
  11. Right, and like I said, it's part of the story. But I don't really see much of a difference between that and the tie-in comics. I do get that it's "your" Shepard and if you didn't play the DLC then it gives default actions for it and so people talk about you doing things that you didn't do, and for that reason I think they should have just had it treat those events as not having happened when you import (which works with all the DLC except Arrival, dunno how they could have gotten around that, maybe include Arrival code with ME3 copies?)
  12. I think in a well-established genre like this it's easy to come up with a fairly "objective" measure of the game's value: compare it to the content of other games. How many characters does a game typically have vs how many this one has? Ask, "if this locked content didn't exist at all, and all that there was was the unlocked content, would it be worth it to me?"
  13. Trolololol. I can't speak for anyone else, but what I've said in the past about DLC is that it doesn't matter as long as what you get for the price is a complete game, not necessarily the complete game. That's an important distinction. Like how a movie in a trilogy can be a complete story without being the complete story. Or a better example would be a movie with a tie-in comic: the comic is part of the story even though it's not in the movie, and even if you don't go read it.
  14. My RAZR would use mp3's as ringtones, but the LG phone I had after that wouldn't, but my HTC Incredible 2 does. Every smartphone I've seen will let you use mp3's (though I'm sure there are at least a couple that won't).
  15. That makes it okay to have all the content on the disc ready and done? So, if the next Street Fighter has half the roster locked on the disc, it'll be fine as long as they charge us $60, and then we pay the rest to unlock all the content on the disc then? Why does it matter if it's on the disc rather than a separate download (all other things being equal)? Okay, yeah, that's pretty bad. The whole point of an "Ultimate" edition is to get all the content, DLC or otherwise. *Edit* - As for the hackers, I agree (with Capcom) it's stupid to go online with a hacked game like that. However, as far as whether it's okay to hack it I have to kinda give it a "meh". I'm inclined to say that whatever's on the disc is fair game for the user to get at it if they're able, even though that's kind of at odds with my position that it doesn't really matter whether the content is on disc or true DLC. I guess what I'll say is I don't really thing there's anything wrong with Capcom putting the DLC on-disc (provided, as here, there's a full game's worth of content there and unlocked already), but I also don't really think there's anything wrong with cracking it to unlock the content.
  16. $7.49 on Amazon, gives you a Steam key.
  17. Nice. *Edit* - So Bioware's statements are slowly giving ground. Now they're saying they "have nothing ruled out" in terms of possibly changing the ending. Wonder what that PR guy on the BW forums makes of this. http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2012/03/19/bioware-undecided-over-changing-mass-effect-3-39-s-endings.aspx
  18. Plenty of places sell ringtones, but most newer phones also let you use any MP3 you want as a ringtone.
  19. They would be turning a profit if Congress weren't using them as a piggy bank, making them pre-pay 75 years worth of retirement benefits. They were turning a profit until that law was passed.
  20. I really want one of those N7 hoodies but goddamn I don't want to pay $80 for it.
  21. lmfbo! That is so me. "No, Henry, wait until I use singularity before biotic-charging them!" *Edit* Also this. (Infiltrator being my main MP class.) My friends always say they know every time I miss because of the expletives...
  22. Yeah, I guess when they say that what I hear is "we'll cut spending on social programs but increase military/law enforcement spending" which is :/
  23. Here's an interesting graph (from Wikipedia): It looks like up through WWII the perception that Democrats spend and Republicans cut back was fairly accurate, but after that it kind of breaks down. *Edit* - To be clear that's debt and not spending, and the debt can also be lowered by increasing revenue rather than decreasing spending. Another trend I'm noticing is that it seems that during good economic times (20's, 50's-60's, 90's) the debt tends to come down, and during bad times (30's, now) and major wars (WWI, WWII) it tends to go up. There is that 80's increase that seems to go against that though.
