  1. This was already my plan. I'll probably catch the ending on youtube. The ending of the DLC isn't really anything at all, all the plot development is scattered throughout the levels.
  2. I'm sure it will be covered in the beginning of AC3 too for people who didn't play the DLC. The DLC centers around Subject 16, and that's just one of the things that are revealed about him. I'm sure he'll tell this stuff to Desmond, this just shows how 16 learned it.
  3. Yeah, though there's a little more to it than that link implies.
  4. I know you don't like paid DLC, but the Lost Archive DLC expands on some of that stuff. It's more of the first-person levels though, so if you didn't like those or just don't want to buy it you might be better off reading a synopsis. @Dean: bump up the priority of 3D Dot Game Heroes, that game was great!
  5. I like Desmond and the modern-day plot, but I think there are a lot of people who don't. I was actually hoping AC3 would be set in modern times.
  6. Yeah, the problem is in figuring out whether you're paying extra for the curly fries on the side or for the ketchup on the burger. I think most people agree that they don't want to pay extra for the ketchup, just not on whether that's what's happening or not.
  7. It depends on how nice the place is, but a lot of places a cheeseburger does cost more than a regular hamburger.
  8. I don't like that they retconned it into a personality trait rather than an effect of what their "native" bending style is. In The Last Airbender it's explained by Avatar Roku that the Avatar always has the most trouble with their opposite, which in this case would be fire. I also think it would have been fairly easy to make it that way without affecting too much of the rest of the premise: you just have her training under Zuko's son, who could even be good friends with Tenzin if they wanted. Then it wouldn't have them messing with established lore.
  9. Apparently the author of the book is the one who wrote the film adaptation also, so that's probably why.
  10. I just watched the second episode, and I thought it was better than the first. One thing that kinda bugs me is that philosophically Korra seems more like an earth bender than a water bender, what with her difficulty of mastering air and the way she seems to like to confront problems head-on. I think the premise could have been slightly altered to, at least in the first season, centering around her difficulties mastering fire bending, without it really negatively affecting the rest of the setting. The first two episodes air on Nickelodeon on April 14, which is almost 3 weeks from now, which means we'll have to wait at least 4 weeks before we get a new episode. *Edit* - Korra's character design didn't bother me in the second episode the way it did in the first, so that's good too.
  11. I'm not sure how I feel about her character design in terms of visuals, but the rest of it has me excited so far.
  12. You can also just say "check". And we call that symbol a "check mark".
  13. "What bosh'tet wrote this crap?" lmfao!
  14. Yes. To me that says they will relax, not end their DRM practices, once no one pirates their games. So if someone pirates them, they'll still be jerks. Yeah, that's how I read it too, but in my book any wavering from their draconian drm practices is a sign of reasonableness. It shows that they're not going to just blindly stick to their "piracy is bad, we must try to prevent it" outlook forever.
  15. I will say that comparing SSB to other "fighting games" is kind of like comparing Sonic to Mirror's Edge, or Mario Kart to Forza, they're just not even really the same genre.
  16. SSB:M is easily my favorite fighting game of all time. Though I'll freely admit I'm not into fighting games. As for RDR, it's definitely one of my top games. I don't think I've ever before (or since, though I know it's only 2 years old) played a game that has so effectively captured a fantasy of mine like that. Easily my favorite game setting of all time.
  17. Ubisoft, being reasonable? Am I hallucinating? http://www.joystiq.com/2012/03/25/ubisoft-hopes-to-negate-the-need-for-drm-with-support-and-conten/
  18. Read Dead is 2 games. The first one was Red Dead Revolver.
  19. Like I said, I just have a feeling I've heard it, so I could be making up memories.
  20. Actually I've read that people who use the internet a lot have developed ad-censors in their brains and so putting something in big, bright, bold letters actually makes them less likely to notice it.
  21. lol, actually, that one really did feel entirely like additional content. You don't even play as Desmond in it, you play as Subject 16. *Edit* - And it's not integrated into the regular singleplayer at all, you access it from the main menu.
  22. I can understand how an American or Canadian would hear the British pronunciation of "ma'am" as "mom", but I feel like I've seen on tv/in movies British people refer to older women as "mum", which I don't think is likely to be a mishearing of "ma'am". Do they really do that or am I crazy?
