  1. I chose Squirtle because Hydro Pump is just so awesome later in the game.
  2. No issue with jurisdiction when it's ISPs involved, since they obviously can only disconnect their own subscribers. It's not like Comcast is going to cut off the internet of someone in Germany.
  3. Can't speak for others, but I certainly care about the NDAA. I won't be voting for president this term because of it (cannot in good conscience support any of the candidates). But a politician lying about something is one of those things that's so expected that I just can't care when another specific example comes to light.
  4. Yeah, I didn't so much mean it as a defense of him, more as an explanation as to why I can't bring myself to care.
  5. That sounds a lot more reasonable than past efforts. At least the way it's described in that article it doesn't sound like it's an attempt to criminalize the consumers (at least not as much as previous actions), which imo is a good thing.
  6. Yes, something exactly like that. I would like longer explanations, but fuck that was better than what we got. Also, amusingly enough that ending worked almost perfectly with my playthrough (except )
  7. Yeah, several of my friends are video game people, video games are what they do, and they still really only get their news through me.
  8. Everyone always lies about what their proposals will do, and especially what they will cost/save, on both sides. I do understand where you're coming from though, and I'd probably be doing the same thing if it was a program I opposed.
  9. Every time I send you money over Paypal dean I get a call from my bank asking if I actually wanted to do this overseas transaction. Those UK folks aren't to be trusted, apparently.
  10. Plus with Molyneux everyone already knows not to believe one single word that comes out of his mouth, so they don't ever expect his statements to pan out to begin with. The reason I don't think very many people liked it is because you don't see these people responding to the criticism. I mean, sure, people who hated it are going to be a lot more vocal, but even so the best thing I've seen anyone say about the ending is "it wasn't that bad." Not exactly a ringing endorsement. *Edit* - @6264: I would have been perfectly happy with the ending if they'd just done a DA:O style text synopsis of later events covering the major factions and NPCs. That's all I really want.
  11. I doubt the average person is angry about it, but I'm also skeptical that most people liked it. I would guess most people are probably like me, which is "the ending was kinda a let down, but the game overall was pretty great."
  12. Yeah, focusing only on the short term is a recipe for short term success but nothing else. Long term success means keeping your customers coming back, which means keeping them happy (which is not the same as doing everything they say, however).
  13. So it doesn't mean anything, it's just called a city now?
  14. So, I read the article, but I still don't really have any idea what that means. It's just some honor? What qualifies a town for the honor of becoming a city?
  15. Yeah if you want to, go ahead.
  16. Moved the stuff about the sale to the Origin thread since it was really an Origin/EA issue rather than a KoA issue.
  17. Moved the stuff from the KoA thread to here since it was really an Origin/EA issue rather than a KoA issue.
  18. No, at this point I'm just pissed at the treatment from customer service. If they'd just said "we're sorry, there was a mistake in the ad" I would have been disappointed but not angry, but instead they apologized for me misunderstanding, gave me justifications for why it was there and wasn't misleading (tip: if I have to go to another site to read the fine print to find out that the game you advertised with the sale is not part of the sale, then your ad is misleading) and then did childish stuff like unfollowing me so they could get in the last word. It's not like I was being rude to them, I was just calmly discussing it with them. lol, and now I got myself back into it. But no, thanks for the thought, but I'm not sure if I would buy it now even if I could get the 50% off.
  19. I should say I'm okay with save points to limit where you can save a la the typewriters, I'm not okay with them limiting the number of times you can use those save points a la the ink tapes.
  20. Oops, thought I'd linked to the Dropbox copy. Fixed now.
  21. There are, what, 17 endings? With really only 3 major ones (minor variations on the 3 make up the others). And really almost no variation between those 3 anyway...
  22. Nope, no help, just apologies "for any misunderstanding." Yes, that's right, I misunderstood the ad, it's not that the ad is blatantly misleading or anything...
